Abstract

The digital transformation in education necessitates active involvement from various stakeholders, including madrasah supervisors. Supervisors play a pivotal role in assisting digital-based madrasahs to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of technology. The application of Information Technology (IT) in education has emerged as an increasingly relevant and significant subject, particularly in madrasahs, which face the challenge of leveraging IT effectively. The digital era has created numerous opportunities across various sectors, including education. As Islamic educational institutions, madrasahs must adapt to these changes to remain relevant and effective in educating future generations. This adaptation aims to enhance the quality of education, improve learning effectiveness, and optimize madrasah management. This study aims to explore the role of supervisors in supporting digital-based madrasahs by utilizing IT within fostered madrasahs in Soppeng Regency. It also examines the challenges encountered and proposes strategies to optimize supervisory roles. A qualitative research method was employed, utilizing a case study approach involving several fostered madrasahs in Soppeng Regency. The findings reveal that supervisors hold a critical role in guiding, supporting, and evaluating the implementation of digital technology in madrasahs.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of academic supervision at Institut Mahardika Cirebon in improving lecturers' performance and competence. Academic supervision is an important element in supporting the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education, which includes teaching, research, and community service. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of supervision at Institut Mahardika focuses more on administrative aspects, while supervision of teaching, research, and community service aspects is still running on a limited basis. Some obstacles faced in the implementation of supervision are time constraints, minimal training for supervisors, and lack of supporting facilities. However, academic supervision has had a positive impact in increasing lecturers' awareness of institutional standards and encouraging the development of competence in certain aspects. This study concludes that a more integrated and collaborative supervision approach is needed to address the gap between policy and implementation in the field. Supervision that is not only evaluative but also provides ongoing guidance can be an effective strategy in supporting lecturer professionalism. These findings provide recommendations for other universities in developing a more comprehensive supervision system to improve the quality of higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of academic supervision at STIKes Budi Luhur Cimahi and analyze its influence on improving lecturers' performance and competence. Academic supervision is an important part in supporting the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education, especially in the fields of teaching, research, and community service. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and analysis of academic documents. The results of the study indicate that academic supervision at STIKes Budi Luhur Cimahi is carried out in a structured manner through the Quality Assurance Unit (UPM) with a focus on class observation, student surveys, and evaluation of learning documents. Supervision has a positive impact on improving lecturers' competence, especially in designing practice-based learning strategies that are relevant to the needs of the world of work in the health sector. However, the implementation of supervision still faces obstacles such as limited supporting facilities, lack of training for supervisors, and lecturers' resistance to the supervision process. This study concludes that effective academic supervision is not only an evaluation tool, but also an instrument to support the continuous professional development of lecturers. Strategic recommendations include improving learning facilities, routine training for lecturers and supervisors, and a more collaborative supervision approach. With these steps, STIKes Budi Luhur Cimahi can continue to improve the quality of education and produce competent graduates in the health sector.

Abstract

Quantitative literacy ability is an important skill in the digital era 4.0. This research aims to develop a quantitative literacy instrument for class VII students that is valid, reliable, free from Differential Item Functioning (DIF), and capable of measuring abilities accurately. The development method uses a 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), limited to the Develop stage. The instrument consists of 36 questions based on six dimensions of quantitative literacy (interpretation, representation, calculation, assumptions, analysis, communication) which are validated by experts with scores CVI 0.94. Trials were carried out on 220 class VII students, and analysis using the Rasch Model showed high reliability (item reliability 0.99; person reliability 0.85) and good precision (standard error 0.25 logit). The distribution of difficulty levels of questions is in line with average to medium student abilities, although the coverage of extreme abilities needs to be improved. The instrument is considered valid, reliable and precise, but it is recommended to add questions with a higher level of difficulty and review questions that are too easy or difficult to make them more representative.

Abstract

This study reviews the literature related to the effectiveness of distance learning (PJJ) in the context of the transition from traditional to virtual classes. The results show that the successful implementation of distance learning is largely determined by several key factors, namely adequate technological infrastructure, teacher readiness and competence in managing virtual classes, and student engagement and discipline. In addition, support from parents and a conducive home environment are proven to play an important role in supporting students' learning process. A curriculum specifically designed for distance learning is also a crucial factor to ensure optimal student interaction and engagement. By considering and optimising these factors, distance learning can be an effective and comparable alternative to traditional face-to-face learning. This study provides guidance for education practitioners in designing and implementing distance learning more efficiently and effectively.

Abstract

This research explores the utilisation of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies in education through a comprehensive review. VR and AR technologies offer innovative ways to create immersive and interactive learning experiences, enabling students to better understand complex concepts. The study identifies key benefits of VR and AR in education, including increased student engagement and motivation, as well as the provision of practical, real-life learning environments that are difficult to achieve with traditional methods. However, the study also highlights significant challenges that need to be overcome, such as high costs, technical infrastructure needs, and specialised training requirements for educators. Thus, the conclusions of this study emphasise the importance of careful planning and proper support to maximise the potential of VR and AR as transformational tools in education.
