Abstract

The relationship between teachers and parents plays a strategic role in shaping a learning environment that supports student achievement, especially at the elementary school level. This study aims to examine the dynamics of the relationship between teachers and parents in supporting student academic performance at MI NW Karang Baru. The background of this research stems from the phenomenon of uneven parental involvement in the education process, despite evidence showing that such involvement has a significant impact on student academic success. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observations, and documentation, involving 30 informants consisting of the principal, teachers, parents, and students. The research was conducted over a three-month period from April to June 2024. The findings indicate that the relationship between teachers and parents at MI NW Karang Baru is relatively open and participative, especially in the context of monitoring students' academic progress. Parental involvement was found to be more active among high-achieving students. However, obstacles such as time constraints and the socio-economic background of some parents were identified as factors affecting the level of their participation. The study concludes that a well-established collaboration between teachers and parents significantly influences student achievement and must be supported by adaptive communication strategies rooted in local values to ensure effectiveness and sustainability.

Abstract

The advancement of financial technology, particularly the widespread use of e-wallets and digital payment systems, has considerably reshaped consumption habits within urban communities, especially among university students. Evidence from prior research highlights that ease of access, rapid transactions, and promotional incentives such as discounts, cashback, and pay-later services play a central role in driving consumptive tendencies. Hasibuan et al. (2025) reported that students prefer digital transactions over cash for convenience, while Kusuma (2020) confirmed the significant effect of e-wallet usage on student spending behavior at Raharja University. Wardani et al. (2025) further revealed that e-wallet adoption explains 38% of consumptive behavior among Generation Z students. On a broader scale, Afrizal & Megananda (2025) observed that digital payments foster a shift towards a convenience-driven lifestyle in urban areas efficient but highly susceptible to impulsive purchases and overspending. Collectively, these findings underline the importance of digital financial literacy in ensuring that the benefits of payment efficiency do not escalate into excessive consumerism.

Abstract

Islamic boarding school education is a style of education that is characteristic of the Indonesian nation and its contribution to education in this country is beyond doubt. For decades, even more than a century, Islamic boarding schools have contributed to educating the nation's children. The aim of this research is to determine the development system and implications of learning the yellow book in improving the intellectuality of students at the Madinatul 'Ulum NW Mumbang Islamic Boarding School. To obtain data for this research, the author used qualitative descriptive research using observation, interview and documentation techniques. As a result of the research, it was found that in Islamic boarding schools, yellow book learning is being developed from several aspects, namely: learning methods and developing learning plans. In developing the learning of the Yellow Book, this Islamic boarding school faces various kinds of obstacles as follows: Difficulty understanding Arabic, students having difficulty interpreting the Yellow Book, having difficulty memorizing, and students having no enthusiasm or motivation in learning the Yellow Book.

Abstract

The main objective of establishing a religious study group is to spread Islamic da'wah and save the community from adversity, where the Islamic study group has developed rapidly in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the role of the Al-Muhsinin Islamic Study Group in improving the religious understanding of the community in Selak Ampan Hamlet, Pijot Village. The background of this study is the low level of religious understanding in the community, even though the majority are Muslim. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of the administrators of the Islamic Study Group and the community who actively participated in the activities. The results show that the Al-Muhsinin Islamic Study Group has a strategic role in fostering faith, increasing Islamic understanding, and strengthening Islamic brotherhood. Routine activities such as religious studies, lectures, and religious discussions have a positive impact on the community's religious awareness. Supporting factors for the success of this activity include community enthusiasm, the role of religious leaders, and the availability of worship facilities. The inhibiting factors are limited time, community busyness, and lack of cadre development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) in efforts to improve the quality of education at MA NW Pepao and identify the obstacles faced and the strategies taken to overcome them. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants in this study consisted of the principal, teachers, the vice principal of curriculum and student affairs, and students. The results show that the implementation of SBM at MA NW Pepao has been carried out in a participatory and gradual manner. The principal acts as a coordinator and facilitator in developing work programs with teachers and the committee. Efforts to overcome obstacles are carried out through collaboration with external institutions, optimization of BOS funds, internal teacher training, and approaching parents through religious activities. Thus, SBM has been proven to be adaptively implemented at MA NW Pepao as a strategy to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

Writing is a productive skill that requires students to generate ideas, organize them into a meaningful text, and apply appropriate language features. However, students at STIT Palapa Nusantara Lombok still experience difficulties in writing English texts, especially descriptive texts, due to limited vocabulary, weak control of grammar, and lack of systematic writing guidance. This study aimed to improve students’ writing skill through the implementation of the Genre-Based Approach (GBA). The research design was Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles involving 35 students. Data were collected through observation, writing tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results showed that students’ writing performance improved significantly after the implementation of GBA. The mean score increased from 58.28 in the preliminary test to 81.03 in Cycle I and improved to 83.79 in Cycle II. In Cycle II, all students achieved the minimum mastery criterion (70). The classroom observation also indicated better student engagement, collaboration, and confidence in composing descriptive texts. Therefore, GBA is effective in improving students’ writing skill at STIT Palapa Nusantara Lombok.

Abstract

Self-confidence is an essential psychological factor that influences students’ academic performance, social interaction, and emotional development. Teachers play a crucial role in shaping students’ confidence through instructional strategies, classroom management, and interpersonal communication. This study aims to explore teachers’ strategies in developing students’ self-confidence and analyze their impact on learning engagement. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving classroom observations, interviews with teachers, and documentation analysis. The findings indicate that teachers apply various strategies such as positive reinforcement, student-centered learning, cooperative learning, public speaking activities, and emotional support. These strategies significantly contribute to increasing students’ participation, motivation, and self-belief. The study concludes that consistent and supportive teaching strategies are essential for fostering students’ self-confidence and creating a positive learning environment.

Abstract

Villages, as the smallest units of government, possess significant potential in the tourism sector, particularly those with unique cultural characteristics, natural beauty, and local wisdom. This study aims to analyze village tourism development strategies in increasing Village Original Revenue (Village-Owned Revenue). The research employs a qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results indicate that village tourism development can be implemented through several key strategies, including the development of local tourism potential, community empowerment, the development of supporting infrastructure, as well as promotion and collaboration with external stakeholders. These strategies have proven effective in increasing tourist visits and making a significant contribution to the growth of Village Original Revenue. However, village tourism development also faces several challenges, such as limited funding, inadequate human resource capacity, and environmental sustainability issues. Therefore, sustainable and collaborative planning is required to ensure that village tourism development can be carried out optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the implementation of academic supervision carried out by the madrasah principal in improving teacher performance at MA DA Jerowaru. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the madrasah principal has implemented academic supervision systematically through the stages of planning, implementation, and follow-up of supervision. Supervision is carried out in the form of class visits, group discussions, and individual coaching, which is focused on improving the quality of the learning process. The implementation of this supervision contributes positively to improving teacher performance, which is reflected in the improvement of pedagogical, professional, and managerial competencies. Despite several obstacles such as limited time and lack of motivation as a teacher, the madrasah principal continues to strive to overcome these obstacles through a persuasive and collaborative approach. Thus, academic supervision carried out by the madrasah principal has proven effective in supporting the improvement of teacher performance at MA DA Jerowaru.
