Abstract

The low level of religious character among some seventh-grade students at SMPN 5 Padang Panjang, as reflected in negative behaviors such as using foul language, cheating, skipping congregational prayers, and showing disrespect toward teachers and peers, forms the background of this study. This is despite the school's implementation of muhadharah activities every Friday morning as part of its efforts to foster students' religious character. The study aims to describe the implementation of muhadharah activities, their contribution to students’ religious observance in terms of worship practices, and the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting their execution. This field-type qualitative study involved the vice principal for student affairs, three Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers, and three seventh-grade students from each class as subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that muhadharah has become a routine agenda that encourages active student participation and contributes to religious knowledge enhancement, as well as the development of speaking skills, courage, creativity, and self-confidence. The activity also positively contributes to the development of religious character, particularly in worship practices such as prayer, fasting, Qur’an recitation, almsgiving, and supplication. Supporting factors include backing from the Education Service, the school's vision and mission, school leadership, involvement of the student council (OSIS) and teachers, and the availability of facilities and funding. Inhibiting factors include weather conditions, students’ lack of focus, limited time, and suboptimal preparation.

Abstract

This study addresses a significant issue concerning the doubts raised by modern Arab writers about the authenticity of the Prophetic Sunnah, particularly their claim that fabricated Hadiths have been mixed with authentic ones. These allegations, presented as original ideas by their proponents, in reality, heavily rely on Orientalist studies. The importance of this study lies in defending the integrity of the Prophetic Sunnah and demonstrating the methodology developed by Hadith scholars for its preservation. The research aims to explore these claims, trace their origins, and provide a scholarly response based on strong foundations. The main challenge is to uncover these misconceptions and clarify that the Sunnah has been meticulously preserved. The study adopts a historical, analytical, and critical approach, examining the claims of fabrication, the foundations they rely on, and the origins of their proponents' ideas, while providing a critique of them. The key findings reveal that these modern criticisms lack robust evidence and are primarily based on Orientalist sources, often marked by intellectual dishonesty. Furthermore, the research demonstrates that Hadith scholars have accurately identified and classified fabricated Hadiths, ensuring the authenticity and preservation of the Prophetic Sunnah.

Abstract

Low student interest in the subject of Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam (Islamic Cultural History) is often attributed to the use of conventional teaching approaches that are passive and monotonous. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in SKI instruction, evaluate its effectiveness, and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing its execution. A qualitative case study design was employed, involving 30 tenth-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Assalam Bantarkawung. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation of learning activities designed around group work, paper writing, and the creation of creative media such as family trees and pop-up books. The findings indicate that the application of PjBL enhances student enthusiasm, active participation, and creativity, with a success rate of 80%. These results align with constructivist theory, which emphasizes meaningful learning through direct experience and active learner engagement. This study contributes theoretically to the development of project-based instructional models within Islamic religious education and offers practical implications for educators and institutions in designing contextual, collaborative, and 21st-century competency-oriented learning.

Abstract

A number of grade 1B Ula santri at Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Nusawungu, Cilacap Regency, continue to experience difficulties in understanding tajwid when studying Kitab Syifaul Jinan. This condition necessitates the use of appropriate instructional methods, one of which is the demonstration method that emphasizes direct presentation of learning material. This study therefore aimed to examine in depth the implementation of the demonstration method in the teaching of Kitab Syifaul Jinan to improve santri’s tajwid comprehension at Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Nusawungu. A qualitative descriptive design was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. The findings show that the demonstration method is implemented systematically in three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the planning stage, the instructor formulates learning objectives and prepares a handbook containing illustrative examples of the material. The implementation stage consists of introductory activities, core learning activities using the demonstration method, and closing activities. The evaluation stage includes daily assessments conducted by the instructor in class and semester evaluations carried out by the pesantren. Overall, the demonstration method is effective in enhancing santri’s understanding of tajwid, particularly through its direct application to the Al-Qur’an, thereby contributing to the strengthening of tajwid instruction quality within the pondok pesantren context.
