Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of collaboration between artificial intelligence (AI) platforms and Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) in enhancing the digital transformation of SMEs. Digital transformation is key to ensuring the sustainability and competitiveness of SMEs in the digital age, yet many face challenges in adopting advanced technologies. Collaboration between AI and DIHs can offer solutions to overcome these barriers. AI platforms provide automation and data analytics capabilities, while DIHs offer technical support, training, and innovation facilities to assist SMEs in implementing technology. This study uses a qualitative literature review methodology to identify and analyze previous research related to this topic. The findings suggest that this collaboration can enhance productivity, operational efficiency, and market access for SMEs. However, challenges such as resource limitations, resistance to change, and digital readiness of SMEs are critical factors to consider in its implementation. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers, academics, and practitioners in designing strategies to accelerate the digital transformation of SMEs through collaboration between AI and DIHs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the business management strategies employed by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Pungpungan Village, Bojonegoro, with the goal of enhancing their competitiveness in the market. Utilizing a qualitative research approach, the study investigates the key factors influencing the success of local MSMEs and the challenges they face in a competitive market environment. Data was gathered through in-depth interviews with MSME owners, direct field observations, and document analysis, which focused on local government policies for MSME development. The results show that effective business management strategies adopted by successful MSMEs include product innovation, the use of digital marketing platforms, and the enhancement of human resource capacity through training and mentorship programs. Additionally, support from local governments and business communities has been identified as a vital factor in improving MSMEs’ access to capital and wider markets. Despite these positive strategies, the study also highlights significant challenges such as technological constraints, low levels of financial literacy, and difficulties in establishing a broad distribution network. These obstacles hinder the optimal growth and competitiveness of MSMEs. The research concludes that collaboration among government, academic institutions, and business actors is essential in creating a supportive ecosystem that ensures the sustainable growth of MSMEs. The findings of this study offer valuable insights for policymakers and can serve as a reference for formulating strategic policies aimed at enhancing the development of MSMEs, especially in rural areas.

Abstract

Increasing global mobility due to globalization requires every country to have an adaptive and responsive immigration policy. Immigration policy plays a role in balancing national interests, security and openness to global dynamics. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of immigration policies in various countries in dealing with international migration flows and identify the challenges and implications of these policies on social, economic and political aspects. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive-analytical methods. Data was collected through a literature study which included analysis of immigration policy documents, international regulations, official government reports and related academic journals. Data analysis techniques are carried out by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions inductively to identify policy patterns implemented in various countries. In addition, this research applies source triangulation techniques to increase data validity by comparing various references from academic studies, government policies, and reports from international organizations such as IOM and UNHCR. The research results show that immigration policy continues to develop following global geopolitical, economic and social changes. Countries face a dilemma in balancing security aspects with openness to migrant workers and refugees. Some countries apply a selective, skills-based approach, while others focus more on protection and humanitarian aspects. This study emphasizes the importance of immigration policies that are flexible, evidence-based, and prioritize a balance between strict regulations and ease of mobility to support national stability and international cooperation.

Abstract

Sharia tourism has become one of Indonesia’s leading sectors contributing significantly to national foreign exchange earnings. In line with this development, the hospitality industry plays a strategic role in realizing competitive and sustainable sharia-based tourism. This study aims to analyze the determinants that influence the performance of sharia hotel tourism in Indonesia. A quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing Partial Least Squares (PLS) as the main analytical tool to test the proposed model and hypotheses. The findings indicate that the performance of sharia hotel tourism can be assessed through several key indicators, including employment absorption, improvement of community economic welfare, as well as environmental and socio-cultural sustainability. Furthermore, empirical evidence reveals that the performance of sharia hotel tourism is significantly affected by various factors such as environmental conditions, quality of services, governance systems, accessibility, infrastructure, facilities, and regulatory frameworks. Among these, regulatory factors demonstrate strong linkages with aspects of location, capital, and promotional efforts, which collectively determine the competitiveness and attractiveness of sharia-compliant hotels. The study emphasizes the importance of comprehensive governance and policy support in strengthening sharia tourism performance. Hence, effective collaboration among stakeholders, including government, hotel managers, and local communities, is crucial to enhance Indonesia’s position as a global center for sharia tourism.

Abstract

Employee performance is a critical factor influencing organizational effectiveness, particularly in the construction industry, where project success depends heavily on workforce productivity and commitment. This study aims to examine the effects of work engagement and work discipline on employee performance through work-life balance as a mediating variable at PT XYZ. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed, involving 235 employees selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4 software. The findings reveal that work engagement, and work-life balance each have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Meanwhile, work discipline was found to have no significant effect on employee performance. Furthermore, work engagement and work discipline significantly influence work-life balance. The mediation analysis demonstrates that work-life balance significantly mediates the relationships between work engagement and employee performance as well as between work discipline and employee performance. These findings highlight the importance of fostering employee engagement, strengthening disciplinary practices, and promoting work-life balance to enhance employee performance and organizational effectiveness in the construction sector.

Abstract

The dynamics of globalization and market saturation force Private Islamic Religious Colleges (PTKIS) to redefine their marketing strategies to avoid being trapped in partial and secular conventional management. This study aims to analyze and construct a reconstruction of the marketing mix strategy (7P) based on Islamic values in creating superior customer value at the newly established STAI MAS Tulungagung. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies, then analyzed interactively. The results show that STAI MAS successfully deconstructed the 7P elements by integrating the tradition of yellow book literacy (turats), the value of justice ('adl), environmental assurance (hifdzul bi'ah), honest promotion (shiddiq), the work culture of itqan-khidmah, the digital administration system (taisir-amanah), and Islamic aesthetics (nazhafah). This reconstruction has proven to create competitive advantages in the form of public trust and student pride. However, the institution still faces obstacles such as limited digital campaign budgets and public stereotypes about private campuses. Based on these findings, it is recommended that STAI MAS management undertake a more innovative digital transformation and structure integrated marketing communications (IMC) to minimize budget constraints, while optimizing strategic partnerships with Islamic boarding school alumni networks to strengthen the institution's brand equity in suburban areas.

Abstract

Community welfare is one of the main indicators of the success of economic development which is influenced by various factors, including income and consumption expenditure. This study aims to analyze the influence of income and consumption expenditure on the level of welfare of urban communities in East Java for the period 2016–2025. The study uses a quantitative approach with a multiple linear regression method. The data used are secondary data in the form of time series obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of East Java for the period 2016–2025. Data analysis techniques include classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, partial tests (t-tests), simultaneous tests (F-tests), and coefficient of determination (R²) tests. The results of the study indicate that partially the income variable (Sig. = 0.257) and consumption expenditure (Sig. = 0.771) do not significantly influence the level of community welfare. However, simultaneously income and consumption expenditure have a significant effect on the level of community welfare with an F value of 11.576 and a significance of 0.006. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.702 indicates that 70.2% of the variation in the level of community welfare can be explained by these two variables, while 29.8% is influenced by other factors outside the research model. This study concludes that community welfare is not only influenced by individual income and consumption expenditure, but also by various other economic factors, so that policies are needed that can increase real income and maintain people's purchasing power in a sustainable manner.
