Assyifa Learning Journal is the main resource for academics and professionals in the field of learning development around the world. This journal accepts and publishes articles on high-quality empirical research demonstrating whether and how the adoption of educational systems, networks, tools, and learning resources/technology leads to improvements in formal and non-formal education at all levels, from early years to tertiary education, technical and vocational, professional development and corporate training. Assyifa Learning Journal does not publish purely descriptive papers or which only present the opinions of students, teachers and other users but present the results of development research on methods, materials or technology. Papers were selected for publication on the basis of research rigor and their potential to make a substantive and original contribution to the field, with explicit reference to international significance.

Abstract

Technology integration in the Indonesian Language curriculum in elementary schools is becoming increasingly important in today's digital era. This study examines the use of creative applications and digital platforms to enrich prose and poetry learning for grade 5 students. With a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model, we developed a web-based learning media called "SastraOnline" and interactive software such as "PuisiKreatif" to enhance student creativity and engagement. This study collected longitudinal data from 10 elementary schools to identify patterns of 5th-grade students' engagement and creativity in technology-based learning. Results showed a significant increase in student engagement by 25% and self-expression skills by 20%. However, variations in implementation across schools affected the results, indicating the importance of local curriculum adaptation. To address the challenges of teacher training, we propose a continuous training program tailored to schools' needs. Collaboration between schools, government, and technology providers is proposed to facilitate the development of a dynamic and responsive curriculum. Further research is needed to measure long-term impacts and tailor effective implementation strategies across educational contexts.

Abstract

To improve mathematics competence in Early Childhood Education (PAUD), using interactive media based on digital technology can be an innovative solution. This study uses interactive applications that combine the art of batik painting with basic mathematical concepts. This approach is based on the theory of Contextual Learning, which is designed to introduce children to the concepts of measurement, patterns, and geometric shapes through creative activities. The prototype of this application was tested on three PAUD groups with a total of 90 children and 6 educators. The research method used qualitative descriptive analysis to assess learning effectiveness and children’s involvement in the activity. The results showed an increase in basic mathematical understanding of up to 35%, with higher enthusiasm and active participation during learning. However, the challenges faced include limited access to digital devices and the need for educators to be trained to utilize this technology. To overcome these obstacles, it is recommended that adequate digital infrastructure support and regular training programs for teachers be provided. Collaboration between schools, technology developers, and the government is needed to ensure effective integration into the PAUD curriculum. Through a collaborative approach, technology-based interactive media can make mathematics learning more interesting and compelling for early childhood.

Abstract

Understanding physics concepts is vital for junior high school students, yet many eighth graders struggle with measurement, heat effects, and temperature changes. This study evaluates the effectiveness of interactive media in enhancing physics understanding using the Borg and Gall model within a Research and Development (R&D) framework. Involving 50 students from a Bandung junior high school, the study employed educational software and interactive simulations over one semester. Data collection included in-depth interviews and pre- and post-intervention tests. Results indicated a 30% increase in average test scores, with 90% of students reporting heightened motivation and engagement. Tools like “Physics Explorer” and “Heat Dynamics” significantly improved active participation and conceptual grasp. The study advocates incorporating interactive media into physics curricula to enhance learning outcomes.

Abstract

Integrating technology into geography education enhances students’ understanding of basic concepts in the digital era. This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach to create GIS-based learning media for 10th graders, focusing on maps, remote sensing, and the physical geosphere (lithosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere) as living spaces. Sixty students participated, selected based on their initial geography knowledge and digital skills. The developed media were tailored to local needs and supported by a flexible curriculum. Results indicate a 25% improvement in students’ geography understanding, notably in spatial analysis and problem-solving skills. Challenges include limited technology infrastructure and the need for teacher training. Successful GIS integration requires educator support and guidance. Recommendations include developing teacher training programs on GIS use in geography and ensuring schools have adequate technology infrastructure. Collaboration among educators, policymakers, and technology developers is crucial for effective implementation. Further research should explore sustainable strategies and their educational impact.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of interactive culture-based media in enhancing cooperation and respect for diversity among elementary school students in Pancasila Education. Utilizing the ADDIE model for Research and Development, 45 students and 2 teachers in a rural setting participated over 10 weeks. The intervention included digital applications and local cultural activities integrated into the curriculum. Data were gathered through observations, interviews, and surveys and were analyzed using qualitative and inferential statistical methods. Results indicated a 35% improvement in cooperation and a 20% increase in cultural understanding compared to traditional methods. The dynamic interactions fostered a harmonious learning environment. Challenges included adapting materials to local contexts and providing teacher training. The study suggests developing sustainable training modules and adaptable learning aids, highlighting interactive media’s potential to enrich Pancasila Education. Further research is recommended to assess long-term impacts and broader educational applications.
