Abstract

Village-Owned Enterprises (Badan Usaha Milik Desa / BUMDes) play a strategic role in supporting rural economic development through the management of local assets and community empowerment. This study aims to examine the role of BUMDes Tawangrejo in improving the local economy through the management of Pasar Tawang in Tawangrejo Village, Kunduran District, Blora Regency. This research applies a descriptive qualitative method using both primary and secondary data sources. Primary data were collected through observations, unstructured interviews, and documentation involving key informants selected through purposive sampling, including BUMDes administrators, market tenants, operational staff, and village government officials. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which includes data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that BUMDes Tawangrejo contributes to local economic development by optimizing village assets through the provision of affordable rental shops, encouraging community participation, and applying cooperative, transparent, accountable, and sustainable management principles. The existence of Pasar Tawang creates business opportunities, increases economic activities at the village level, and contributes to village original income. However, several challenges remain, such as low community purchasing power and the absence of traditional market-day activities. Therefore, strengthening adaptive management strategies based on local socio-cultural conditions is essential to enhance the sustainability of rural economic development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the adoption and implementation of information technology, particularly e-commerce and social media, in improving the competitiveness of Islamic Boarding School MSMEs at the Nurul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in Lebong Atas District. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation of five informants who are managers of Islamic boarding school MSMEs. The results of the study indicate that the use of information technology has a positive impact on expanding marketing reach, increasing revenue, and strengthening the image and uniqueness of Islamic boarding school MSME products. Social media and marketplaces are the main digital marketing tools that are considered easy to use and effective in reaching consumers outside the local area of the Islamic boarding school. However, the use of information technology still faces several obstacles such as limited human resources, low digital literacy, and limited supporting facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, it is necessary to increase human resource capacity and continuous mentoring so that the use of information technology can be optimized as a strategy to increase the competitiveness of Islamic boarding school MSMEs in the digital era.

Abstract

The development of digital marketplaces has encouraged the widespread distribution of halal products, but on the other hand, it has raised issues regarding the protection of Muslim consumers due to the prevalence of non-certified halal products. This study aims to analyze the forms of legal protection for Muslim consumers in the distribution of non-certified halal products in digital marketplaces and to examine the legal responsibilities of platform providers. This study uses a normative juridical method with a legislative and conceptual approach, supported by a literature review of legislation, scientific literature, and marketplace policies. The results show that, normatively, Muslim consumer protection is regulated in the Consumer Protection Law No. 8 of 1999 and the Halal Product Guarantee Law No. 33 of 2014, but its implementation in digital marketplaces is not yet optimal. Platform providers tend to limit their responsibility as intermediaries, even though they derive economic benefits and play an active role in the transaction system. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the responsibility of platforms and integrate the principles of Islamic economic law in order to realize fair and sustainable protection for Muslim consumers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of economic needs, credit availability, and environmental factors on the debt behavior of Muslim customers of PNM Mekaar in Bengkulu City. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory research type. Data were obtained from 80 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique, with the criteria being active Muslim female customers who have taken out financing. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires with a five-point Likert scale. Data analysis was carried out using IBM SPSS Statistics through validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that economic needs have a positive and significant effect on debt behavior, indicating that pressures for household needs and business capital encourage people to use financing as a financial solution. Credit availability also has a positive and significant effect on debt behavior, indicating that easy access to PNM Mekaar financing increases people's tendency to borrow. Conversely, environmental factors have a negative and significant effect on debt behavior, indicating that a good social and family environment can reduce the tendency to borrow. Overall, this study confirms that economic factors act as the main driver of debt behavior, while environmental factors function as a controller, in line with Islamic economic principles which emphasize caution and responsibility in debt.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the supply chain inefficiencies in the small-scale roof tile industry in Sampang, stemming from the atomistic murabahah financing pattern employed by KSPPS Nuri Jatim Sampang City Branch. This approach focuses solely on individual artisans without addressing the upstream and downstream links, leading to raw material supply uncertainty, price volatility, and weak competitiveness. Using a qualitative case study method involving interviews, observation, and document analysis, this study aims to formulate an integrated financing strategy. The findings map the fragile supply chain and propose a Supply-Chain Murabahah model that transforms the role of KSPPS Nuri from a mere funding provider to an active integrator. The model involves establishing a Cluster Development Team to coordinate linked murabahah schemes: financing for raw material suppliers to ensure stock and financing for artisans specifically tied to purchasing from this guaranteed supply. Implementation is recommended through a limited pilot project leveraging the existing high social capital. In conclusion, this model has the potential to create systemic stability, collective efficiency, and enhance the competitiveness of the fostered roof tile industry, while also contributing to the development of the Islamic Supply Chain Finance concept at the microfinance level.

Abstract

The conventional global financial architecture, based on interest (riba) and speculation (gharar), has repeatedly demonstrated its systemic vulnerability in the face of economic turbulence, such as the 2008 crisis and recent geopolitical shocks, exacerbating instability rather than fostering resilience. This study aims to construct an Islamic economics institutional model as an alternative solution that is inherently anti-cyclical and justice-oriented. Using a qualitative approach through conceptual study and theory building, this research analyses normative and empirical literature to synthesize an integrated four-layer model. The findings reveal that financial resilience from an Islamic perspective is built on three main pillars: (1) systemic stability based on the prohibition of riba and gharar, (2) institutionalised distributive justice through zakat and waqf as built-in stabilisers, and (3) connectivity between the financial sector and the real economy. The resulting model encompassing philosophical, integrated macroprudential policy, market instruments, and maqashid-based oversight layers provides an effective operational framework for mitigating liquidity crises, commodity price volatility, and global supply chain disruptions. The study concludes that Islamic economics offers a holistic resilience paradigm and recommends phased implementation through an integrated data platform, halal industrial cluster pilot projects, and advocacy for international standards for broader integration.

Abstract

Efforts to optimize zakat in Indonesia, zakat management institutions that have been recognized by the government consist of the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) and the Zakat Management Institution (LAZ). The aim is to analyze the implementation and risk reduction in zakat manangement institutions in terms of fund collection, distribution, and reporting. This study is based on the theory of risk management in non-profit organizations, which emphasizes operational risk control to improve accountability and public trust. The method used is qualitative with primary and secondary data sources. The focus of this study is the branch heads and employees of three zakat management institutions in Surakarta; LAZ Yatim Mandiri Surakarta, LAZ Nurul Hayat Surakarta, and LAZ DT Peduli Surakarta. The results show that zakat institutions in Surakarta have implemented risk mitigation strategies by improving internal controls in the processes of fundraising, distribution, and reporting of funds. The implementation of ZCP numbers 10, 16, and 18 plays an important role in mitigating the risks of zakat management. The results indicate that zakat management policies need to be strengthened and also serve as a basis for strengthening national zakat governance policies.

Abstract

The implementation of wadiah contracts in digital sharia savings in Indonesia has undergone an essential shift from classical fiqh substance. Contracts that should be non-profit (tabarru') and aimed at safekeeping (yad amanah) have been modified into commercial instruments for collecting cheap funds (wadiah yad dhamanah). This research is a descriptive qualitative study, with direct interviews conducted at the institution. The results show that this shift is exacerbated by the issue of aggressively promoted bonuses, which blur the line between voluntary donations and promises of rewards that resemble usury. Digitalization accelerates this commercialization, reducing Sharia contracts to mere technical features without their ethical spirit. The ambiguity and unfairness of the benefits received by customers threaten the principles of hifz al-mal and hifz al-din. Without a fundamental repositioning, digital wadiah contracts risk losing their authenticity and turning Islamic banking into a mere replica of conventional banking with an Islamic label.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of cooperation principles in Islamic economics within the traditional salted fish processing industry in Pulau Pasaran, Bandar Lampung City. The research focuses on the forms and mechanisms of cooperation practiced and their alignment with Islamic economic principles, particularly justice, mutual assistance (ta’awun), trustworthiness (amanah), and risk-sharing. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving actors in the salted fish processing industry. The findings reveal that cooperation practices remain informal and rely heavily on personal trust, without clear contractual agreements. Although Islamic economic values are culturally embedded through solidarity and honesty, their implementation has not been institutionally structured. Profit and risk-sharing mechanisms tend to be disproportionate, resulting in unequal relationships between capital owners and workers. These findings indicate a gap between the normative ideals of Islamic economics and empirical practices in traditional industries. The study concludes that strengthening Islamic economic literacy, business mentoring, and the establishment of fair and transparent cooperation mechanisms are essential to promote sustainable implementation of Islamic economic cooperation principles in traditional industrial sectors.
