Abstract

This study aims to: (1) map farmers' cropping patterns in the growing season cycle in Noelbaki Village; (2) identify internal-external factors of land use through the SWOT framework and the IFAS-EFAS matrix; and (3) formulate land intensification strategies appropriate to local conditions. The approach used is a mixed methods approach, combining descriptive qualitative analysis and quantitative SWOT analysis. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, questionnaires, and focus group discussions (FGD). Analysis was carried out by mapping cropping patterns, compiling IFAS-EFAS to obtain total strengths-weaknesses and opportunities-threats, and determining positions in the SWOT quadrants as a basis for recommendations. The results show that farmers generally implement a rotational cropping pattern with two rice seasons per year, interspersed with vegetable commodities during the break period. Key strengths include soil fertility, farming experience, and irrigation support; weaknesses include low technology adoption and high production costs. Opportunities arise from government program support, access to technology, and increasing market demand, while the main threats are seasonal shifts and pest attacks. Priority strategies include the use of superior seeds, strengthening irrigation systems, diversifying crops based on local agroecology, and accelerating the adoption of modern agricultural technologies.

(2) To identify SWOT climate change in the management of dry land rain-fed rice fields in Mandeu Village, Raimanuk District, Belu Regency. (3) To determine the local wisdom adaptation strategies of farmers in facing climate change in Mandeu Village, Raimanuk District, Belu Regency. This study uses a mixed method to analyze land management and problems and farmers' adaptation strategies based on the analysis (SWOT). The results of the study show that (1) Utilization of organic fertilizer: Farmers use cow dung to improve soil nutrients, which also serves as an alternative to expensive chemical fertilizers. (2) Communal cooperation: Farmers work together to build small-scale water infrastructure such as drilled wells and mini ponds, as a response to uncertain water availability. (3) Selecting mixed rice varieties, farmers plant various rice varieties, such as the drought-resistant local Membromo rice and superior varieties such as Ciherang and Inpari, to minimize the risk of crop failure due to climate uncertainty. This study concludes that farmers in Mandeu Village have a strong ability to adapt to climate change thanks to local wisdom passed down through generations. Their strategy focuses on diversification, combining traditional practices and adopting adaptive crop varieties.

Abstract

The increasing population growth in urban areas has caused problems related to limited residential space. This study aims to analyze the relationship between population density and building density on the availability of residential space in Taubneno Village and Kota Baru Village, Kota Soe District, South Central Timor Regency. This study uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach through Normalized Difference Built-up Index (NDBI) analysis. Data were obtained through literature studies, Population data collection, remote sensing (Sentinel Imagery and Soe City administrative boundaries), observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out to determine the category of population density and building density in each village. The results of the study show that the population density in both villages is classified as High, with Taubneno Village having a larger population, compared to Kota Baru Village. Based on the results of the NBDI analysis, most areas of Taubneno Village are dominated by dense buildings, while Kota Baru Village shows an uneven pattern of building distribution, with dense areas in the center of the Village and sparse areas on the outskirts. These findings indicate a strong relationship between population density and building density, with higher population densities contributing to higher building density. The results of this study are expected to inform sustainable spatial planning in Kota Soe District, South Central Timor Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Supplementary Feeding Program (PMT) for stunted toddlers in Samataring Village, East Sinjai District, Sinjai Regency, using Edward III’s theory covering four indicators: communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that the PMT program in Samataring Village has been implemented fairly well. Communication between nutrition officers, posyandu cadres, and the community is carried out directly during posyandu activities and through indirect communication channels. Human resources are adequate, although supporting facilities and infrastructure need improvement. The implementers show a strong commitment to the program, while the bureaucratic structure functions effectively despite the absence of a formal organizational chart. The study implies the need to strengthen facilities and infrastructure, as well as to improve the variety of PMT menus to enhance program effectiveness. Recommendations include increasing local government support, optimizing the role of cadres, and developing innovative nutrition education strategies.
