Abstract

The convergence of the global OTT streaming revolution and the maturation of the Islamic economy presents a critical juncture for media studies. This research employs a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to map the scholarly discourse from 2013 to 2023 at the nexus of Islamic branding, the political economy of streaming platforms, and their interplay in key Muslim-majority nations: Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the UAE. The analysis, utilizing co-citation and bibliographic coupling, reveals a robust and evolving field. Co-citation analysis identified foundational intellectual clusters centering on the Halal industry ecosystem, Muslim consumer behavior theory, and the impact of brand equity. Concurrently, bibliographic coupling illuminated contemporary research fronts, including integrated models of purchase intention in the Indonesian consumer goods sector, comparative studies of consumer hesitation and adoption, and the mediating roles of trust and brand equity in digital and Sharia-compliant markets. The study synthesizes these findings to provide a data-driven overview of the field's intellectual structure, tracing its thematic evolution and highlighting the complex negotiation between global platform logic and local religious identities. Ultimately, this bibliometric mapping not only delineates the current state of knowledge but also identifies under-explored areas, thereby offering a foundational reference and a clear agenda for future research into the co-constitution of digital capitalism and Islamic identity in the modern media ecosystem.

Abstract

This study quantitatively examines the effectiveness of Islamic preaching (dakwah) content on TikTok in fostering youth engagement and religious behavioral intentions. Grounded in the Heuristic-Systematic Model and Source Credibility Theory, the research investigates how message quality, preacher credibility, and content interactivity influence behavioral engagement and subsequent religious intentions. Data from 450 young Indonesian TikTok users were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results identify preacher credibility as the strongest predictor of behavioral engagement (β = 0.41, p < 0.001), followed by message quality (β = 0.32, p < 0.001) and content interactivity (β = 0.28, p < 0.001). Behavioral engagement significantly influences religious intentions (β = 0.53, p < 0.001) and acts as a significant partial mediator, translating the effects of independent variables into religious behavioral intentions. These findings underscore the pivotal role of source credibility and active audience participation in digital religious persuasion, offering practical insights for religious communicators to design effective digital preaching strategies on short-form video platforms. The study contributes to digital religion literature by validating the complementary nature of heuristic and systematic processing in religious content evaluation on social media.

Abstract

This study examines how emotional resonance shapes listener loyalty and Increasing Religious Learning in Islamic podcasts, with listening satisfaction and trust acting as parallel mediators. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through an online questionnaire from 750 loyal Islamic podcast listeners in Indonesia and analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS. The results show that emotional resonance significantly increases listening satisfaction and trust, listening satisfaction significantly enhances listener loyalty, and trust has a strong positive effect on Increasing Religious Learning. In addition, there is a significant total indirect effect of emotional resonance on Increasing Religious Learning through the combined roles of listening satisfaction, trust, and listener loyalty (β = 0.40, p < 0.001). The structural model demonstrates strong explanatory power, accounting for 68% of the variance in listener loyalty and 59% of the variance in Increasing Religious Learning. These findings confirm the pivotal role of emotional connectivity in digital religious communication and provide a validated structural model that offers empirical guidance for Islamic podcast content creators to optimize engagement and learning outcomes by strategically fostering emotional resonance, listening satisfaction, and trust

Abstract

Islamophobia remains a pervasive global challenge, necessitating innovative counter-strategies. This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of 1,028 Scopus-indexed publications (2014-2024) examining digital storytelling by the Indonesian Diaspora as a counter-narrative against Islamophobia. Through performance analysis and science mapping using VOSviewer, the research reveals distinct intellectual foundations through co-citation analysis, identifying four key clusters: psychological behavior antecedents, social media marketing, SME digital empowerment, and technology acceptance models. Concurrently, bibliographic coupling analysis uncovers three emerging research fronts focusing on digital technology adoption in education, interdisciplinary sustainability pathways, and e-learning success models. While these frameworks provide valuable theoretical foundations, significant limitations persist, particularly the dominance of technocratic approaches that overlook socio-political complexities in Islamophobic discourse. The study concludes by proposing six critical research agendas: platform-specific algorithm optimization, psychological message framing, cultural brokerage roles, sustainable business models, computational social science applications, and digital diplomacy synergies. These findings not only map the current scholarly landscape but also advocate for more integrated, critical approaches to understanding diaspora-led digital counter-narratives in combating global Islamophobia.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has not only transformed educational systems and methods in general, but also challenged the paradigm of Christian education based on relationships and spiritual values. In the fast-paced and connected digital era, collaboration between families, churches, and Christian schools is key to maintaining the relevance and effectiveness of faith education. This study aims to identify the main challenges faced in implementing technology in these three domains, explore emerging synergistic opportunities, and formulate practical strategies that can support digital collaboration based on Christian values. The research method used was a descriptive qualitative approach using literature studies and direct interviews with stakeholders from various backgrounds—pastors, evangelical teachers, and Christian religious leaders. The results indicate that the targeted and valuable use of technology can strengthen communication, expand access to faith learning, and create a more inclusive and collaborative Christian education ecosystem. However, supervision, human resource training, and contextual content design remain urgently needed to prevent technology from becoming a barrier to spiritual growth. This study provides practical and conceptual contributions for educators, churches, and families in integrating technology wisely for the faith growth of today's generation.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has transformed various aspects of human life, including education. Students now have extensive access to various digital learning resources such as e-books and instructional videos. However, a lack of understanding of digital ethics often leads to problems such as plagiarism and the spread of hoaxes. This article aims to examine how Christian ethical principles derived from the Bible can guide the use of technology in education. By integrating biblical values such as love, honesty, responsibility, self-control, and wisdom, Christian education shapes not only intellectual abilities but also moral and spiritual character. The literature review shows that applying Christian ethics in the use of technology can prevent digital abuse and strengthen Christlike character in students and teachers. Thus, technology can be a means to glorify God and bring blessings to others.

Abstract

Early marriage remains a serious issue in Central Halmahera Regency and has wide-ranging impacts on children’s quality of life, education, and adolescent reproductive health, particularly among girls. This study aims to analyze the roles, programs, collaborative strategies, and effectiveness of the Office of Population Control, Family Planning, Women’s Empowerment, and Child Protection (DP2KB-P3A) in reducing the rate of child marriage. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving government officials, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders. The findings indicate that DP2KB-P3A has played a strategic role in education, advocacy, and community development through programs such as PIK-R, BKR, and digital systems including ELSIMIL and SIGA. Collaboration with communities, schools, and religious leaders has been implemented, although challenges persist, particularly in low public literacy and limited resources. From the perspectives of social role theory, gender theory, child protection, and social ecology, cross-sectoral engagement is essential in building an effective prevention ecosystem. This study recommends strengthening institutional capacity, promoting active community participation, and conducting further research on cultural aspects and the long-term impacts of implemented policy interventions.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of early marriage rates on poverty levels in Indonesia. Using secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), panel data regression is applied to thirty-four provinces with relatively high poverty and early marriage rates over the 2015–2023 period. The model employs a fixed effect specification and includes economic growth, education level, and unemployment rate as additional explanatory variables. The results show that, simultaneously, economic growth, education level, unemployment rate, and early marriage rate have a significant effect on poverty levels. Partially, economic growth has a positive and significant effect on poverty, indicating that higher economic growth has not yet been accompanied by a reduction in poverty, so that growth is not yet inclusive. Education level has a negative and significant effect on poverty, underscoring the strategic role of education in reducing poverty through improving the quality of human resources. The unemployment rate has a positive and significant effect, meaning that higher unemployment increases the likelihood of poverty. The early marriage rate also has a positive and significant effect, indicating a tendency for early marriage to raise the risk of poverty. The coefficient of determination of 0.98 shows that the variables in the model explain 98 percent of the variation in poverty levels, indicating excellent explanatory power. Overall, the findings confirm that education and unemployment exert a stronger influence on poverty than early marriage, while economic growth has not yet had an inclusive impact on poverty reduction.
