Abstract

This research aims to describe: (1) the form of the value of being willing to sacrifice in the novel Dad's Wallet Mom's Shoes by J.S Khairen, (2) the manifestation of the value of unity in the novel Dad's Wallet Mom's Shoes by J.S Khairen, (3) the manifestation of the value of respect in the novel Dad's Wallet Mom's Shoes J.S Khairen's work, (4) the value of spirit and never giving up exists in the novel Dad's Wallet Mom's Shoes J.S khairen's work, (5) there is a value of cooperation in the novel Dad's Wallet Mom's Shoes by J.S Khairen. This type of research is literary research using descriptive methods. The data source used is a novel Dad's Wallet Mom's Shoes by J.S Khairen. Based on the research results, three forms of the value of being willing to sacrifice, two forms of the value of unity, two forms of the value of respect, five forms of enthusiasm and never giving up, and three forms of the value of cooperation were found in the novel Dad’s Wallet Mom’s Shoes by J.S Khairen.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the forms of social conflict, their causes, and their consequences in the novel Kuda by Panji Sukma. Employing literary sociology as its theoretical framework, this qualitative study utilizes a descriptive approach. The novel Kuda serves as the primary data source. Data collection involved a meticulous reading of the novel, noting and cataloging instances of social conflict. The triangulation technique was used to ensure data validity. Data analysis was conducted by categorizing the utterances, actions, and thoughts of characters and the narrator in relation to the forms, causes, and effects of social conflict. The results were then analyzed, interpreted, and synthesized into a coherent narrative for the thesis. The findings reveal that the social conflicts in the novel can be classified into three main types: (1) interpersonal conflicts, (2) group conflicts, and (3) societal conflicts. The underlying causes of these conflicts were identified as: (a) individual differences, (b) conflicting interests, (c) social change, and (d) cultural disparities. Lastly, the study examined the consequences of social conflict, which were found to include: (a) increased group solidarity, (b) the breakdown of group unity, (c) the development of individual identity, (d) the erosion of social norms, and (e) property loss and casualties.

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the use of the adverbs in the novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu work Tere Liye. This type of research is descriptive qualitative linguisyic research. That is, this research aimd to describe th types and form of aspects of adverbial markers in the novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu work Tere Liye. This reseach uses a descriptive metdod because the data collected is in the form sentences, not number. The data analysis technique in this research utilizes the Indonesian language corpus linguistic method using KORTARA to collect data and classify the amount of data. Data analysis technique are carried out by, (a) data reduction; (b) data presentation; (c) interesting conclusion. The research finds in the novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu work Tere Liye adverbs aspect marker as many as 716 for the use of adverbs aspect markers. The conclusion of this research is the use of adverbs in novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu work Tere Liye. The statement is evidenced by the phrase and sentence in the novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu work Tere Liye which shows the appearance of adverbs of adverbs

Abstract

This research was written to explain the form, causes and impacts of hedonism in the novels Tokyo and Celebration of Sadness by Ruth Priscilia Angelina. This research uses literary research with qualitative research and descriptive methods. The data in this research are words, phrases, clauses or sentences that describe the form, causes and impacts of hedonism in the novels Tokyo and Celebration of Sadness by Ruth Priscilia Angelina using a study of literary psychology theory. The findings of this research include the following forms, causes and impacts of hedonism. (1) Forms of hedonism, namely, (a) natural behavior (innate behavior), (b) operant behavior (operant behavior), (c) egoistic hedonism, (d) universal hedonism. (2) The causes of hedonism consist of internal and external factors. Internal factors are (a) attitude, (b) perception, (c) motive, (d) personality, (e) self-concept. External factors are, (a) family and (b) culture. (3) The impact of hedonism, namely, (a) individualism, (b) materialistic, (c) consumptive, (d) wasteful.

Abstract

Aya Canina, in the lyrics of her song titled Ku Kira Kau Rumah, expresses her disappointment towards someone who has come into her life. Initially, this song started as a poem she wrote in 2016, then it was perfected into a song in 2017 by Aya Canina and Isa Maulana Elfasya. This study examines the structural changes in the song Ku Kira Kau Rumah and explores the hypogram form of the song Ku Kira Kau Rumah. The writing method used in this study is a descriptive method, which is conducted by describing an object to provide a depiction of the reality of the object under study, using a qualitative approach. According to Semi (1993:23), qualitative research is carried out by prioritizing depth of understanding of interactions between concepts being empirically studied rather than focusing on numbers. Based on the research conducted, the conclusions are as follows: (1) The structure of the song Ku Kira Kau Rumah by Aya Canina consists of diction (word choice), imagery, concrete words, figurative language, theme, tone, mood, and message. (2) The meaning of the lyrics of the song Ku Kira Kau Rumah by Aya Canina, based on its hypogram, represents the ups and downs and joys and sorrows of the writer in maintaining the hope that has formed in her mind, where over time, this hope gradually fades, resulting in feelings of disappointment that ultimately pour out into the song lyrics.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the types and forms of human values in the short story collection Dua Tengkorak Kepala from Cerpen Pilihan Kompas: 2000. Using the sociology of literature theory, this qualitative research employs a descriptive method. The Dua Tengkorak Kepala collection serves as the data source for this research. Data collection methods include reading and comprehending the stories in Dua Tengkorak Kepala, identifying and recording elements related to human values in the stories, and identifying events that reflect human values. The validation technique used in this research is triangulation. Data analysis techniques involve classifying data based on the speech/actions or thoughts of characters and narrators that relate to human values, analyzing/interpreting the data, summarizing the analysis results, and writing the report. The results of this study are: (1) Types of human values. Human values are categorized into four parts: (a) Human and God, (b) Human and Nature, (c) Human and Others, and (d) Human and Self; (2) Forms of human values, categorized into five parts: (a) Value of Truth, (b) Value of Peace, (c) Value of Compassion, (d) Value of Righteous Behavior, and (e) Value of Nonviolence.

This research is included in the type of philological research. The object of this research is the manuscript A Brief History of Auliyaullahushshalihin Syekh Abdurrauf (Syekh Kuala) the Developer of the Islamic Religion in Aceh written by Imam Maulana Abdul Manaf Amin Batang Kabung Kota Tengah Tabing Padang. This research method is a philological research method based on several research stages, namely the data collection stage using the library study method, the data processing stage using the descriptive method, the transliteration stage uses the transliteration method, then the translation stage uses the translation method. There are three results of this research, namely: (1) description of the manuscript A Brief History of Auliyaullahushshalihin Syekh Abdurrauf (Syekh Kuala) Developer of the Islamic Religion in Aceh written by Imam Maulana Abdul Manaf Amin Batang Kabung Kota Tengah Tabing Padang, which consists of 18 aspects, (2) transliteration of the text A Concise History of Auliyaullahushshalihin Syekh Abdurrauf (Syekh Kuala) Developer of the Islamic Religion in Aceh written by Imam Maulana Abdul Manaf Amin Batang Kabung Kota Tengah Tabing Padang presented from Arabic-Malay script into Latin script, (3) presentation of the translation of the text Concise History Auliyaullahushshalihin Syekh Abdurrauf (Syekh Kuala) Developer of the Islamic Religion in Aceh written by Imam Maulana Abdul Manaf Amin Batang Kabung Kota Tengah Tabing Padang from Malay and some Minangkabau vocabulary into Indonesian.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to explain: (1) the form of social conflict in the novel Keberangkatanby Nh. Dini, (2) the causes of conflict in the novel Departure by Nh. Dini, (3) the impact of conflict in the novel Departure by Nh. Early. The object used in this research is the novel Departure by Nh. Dini edition 9, published February 2023. This research is literary research using descriptive methods. Data collection techniques include reading and understanding novels, marking novels that are related to research questions, and carrying out data inventory. Data analysis techniques include data classification, data analysis and interpretation, research completion, and writing analysis results reports. Based on the results of data analysis, (1) the form of social conflict in the novel Keberangkatan Karya Nh. Dini consists of (a) personal (individual) conflict (b) group conflict, and c) community conflict (2) the causes of social conflict are classified into four categories: (a) differences between individuals (individuals), (b) differences in social class, (c) differences in interests, and (d) social change. (3) The impact of social conflict can be differentiated into three areas: (a) destruction of group unity, (b) changes in individual personality, and (c) destruction of values and norms.

Abstract

This research is motivated by linguistic phenomena contained in a novel or literary work. This research aims to describe the use of the coordinating conjunction 'and' in the novel Sesuk by Tere Liye. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data for this research are sentences containing the coordinating conjunction 'and'. The source of research data is the novel Sesuk by Tere Liye. The data collection technique uses documentation techniques with corpus linguistic methods through the KORTARA application. The data collected in this research was obtained through the Kortara application. The data collected in this research is then analyzed using the following steps: (1) downloading the data obtained from the target corpus in the Kortara application into an Excel file, (2) identifying the data according to the research objectives, (3) classifying the data that has been identified according to with research objectives, (4) formulating research findings, (5) draw conclusions. From the research findings, it can be concluded that the use of the coordinating conjunction 'and' in the novel Sesuk Tere Liye is based on its position, namely the first coordinating conjunction which is located between words is 343 data with a percentage of 61.14%. Second, there are 65 coordinating conjunctions located between phrases with a percentage of 11.58%. Third, there are 67 coordinating conjunctions located between clauses with a percentage of 11.94%. And fourth, there are 86 coordinating conjunctions located between sentences with a percentage of 15.32%.

Abstract

This research aims to discuss the forms, causes, and effects of poverty as expressed in the novel Kembara Rindu. This research uses descriptive literary research methodology, by observing words, phrases, clauses, and sentences related to poverty in the novel. The data collection techniques used include reading and understanding the novel, recording relevant data, and organizing them based on the research questions. Data analysis consisted of several stages: (1) identifying data related to the form of poverty; the causes of poverty, and its impact in the novel, (2) analyzing the collected data, and (3) presenting conclusions related to the issue of poverty in the form of a thesis. The findings of this study reveal that the forms of poverty found in the novel are absolute and relative poverty. The factors that cause poverty are the low quality of the labor force, difficult access to capital ownership, low technological capabilities, and inefficient use of resources. The effects of poverty are unemployment, crime, school dropouts, and difficult access to health.
