Abstract

This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a program based on structured sports activity in reducing psychological stress and its role in mitigating burnout among dormitory students at the University of Anbar, as well as analyzing the role that psychological stress plays in explaining the relationship between structured sports activity and burnout. The study was based on the hypothesis that the effect of sports activity is not limited to reducing burnout directly, but rather extends to an indirect effect through reducing psychological stress, as it is one of the main factors causing burnout. The researcher adopted the experimental approach using a pretest-posttest equivalent groups design (experimental and control). The study sample consisted of 25 students who were distributed into two groups: an experimental group that underwent the structured sports activity program, and a control group that did not undergo any intervention. The application of the program lasted for 7 weeks with two sessions per week, and included structured sports activities of an interactive nature aimed at (reducing psychological stress, improving emotion regulation, enhancing psychological balance). The study utilized a psychological stress scale and a burnout scale. The results showed statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-measurements in favor of the experimental group in the reduction of the level of psychological stress and burnout, and these results emphasize the importance of employing structured sports programs within psychological support strategies in the university environment, especially among dormitory students, due to their effective role in reducing psychological stress as a primary source of burnout, thereby limiting its manifestations and enhancing general mental health

Abstract

This research aims to highlight the importance of the administrative aspect in developing sports performance. Athletic achievement is no longer dependent solely on physical and technical factors; administrative performance has become a fundamental element in building teams and champions. Studies have shown that scientific sports management represents the first step in discovering and preparing talents for high-level competition. Here, the role of testing and measurement science emerges as a key tool in evaluation and selection, contributing to the design of sports programs and plans and correcting both administrative and technical pathways. The research problem lies in the need to construct a scientific scale to evaluate the performance of administrative bodies in premier league football clubs, from the perspective of the technical staff who are most closely engaged with these bodies. The research objectives are: (1) to build a scale for evaluating administrative performance, and (2) to apply this scale to a sample of technical staff members in premier league clubs. The study also defines its human, spatial, and temporal domains, specifying the period from January 25, 2026, to February 29, 2026. The significance of the research is in identifying the level of performance of administrative bodies in premier league clubs, revealing strengths and weaknesses, and supporting the development of administrative work to achieve better athletic outcomes

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the relationships between peak take-off force, maximum center of mass height, and blocking performance accuracy in volleyball middle blockers under different movement conditions. A biomechanical approach was adopted to analyze two players (youth and elite) using a force platform and motion capture system. Three experimental conditions were applied: static blocking, movement from the right side, and movement from the left side. Peak instantaneous leg force during the take-off phase and maximum center of mass height during flight were measured, alongside block accuracy scores. The results revealed that the elite player demonstrated consistently higher values in peak force, jump height, and blocking accuracy across all conditions. Significant positive correlations were found between peak force and maximum height, as well as between maximum height and blocking accuracy in all tests for the elite player. In contrast, the youth player showed significant correlations only when approaching from the right side, which was attributed to greater force production by the dominant leg, while non-significant relationships were observed in the static and left-side conditions. The findings indicate that peak take-off force is a critical determinant of vertical jump height, which in turn directly influences blocking performance. Additionally, asymmetry in force production between legs negatively affects performance consistency in less experienced players. In conclusion, enhancing lower limb explosive strength—particularly in both legs—is essential for improving jump height and blocking effectiveness in volleyball middle blockers.

Abstract

The importance of this study lies in its ability to improve the physical performance of athletes based on their ability to develop muscles' strength through training. In general, the ability to perform any required skill efficiently, accurately, and for prolonged periods without getting tired depends mainly on muscular strength. This may be attained through adopting appropriate techniques of training associated with muscular strength development such as plyometric training. The problem addressed through this study is the low level of explosive power and speed-strength of female futsal players leading to poor performances in physical and technical aspects of game play and hence unfavorable results in terms of winning or losing matches. Additionally, the limitation affects the speed and force with which the player performs some required skills during the game.  The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of plyometric training on developing explosive power, leg speed-strength, and long-range shooting skills of female futsal players. The design used in this study was an experimental one owing to the appropriateness of this design to address the research problem. The study involved 12 female participants from the Diyala Directorate of Education futsal team at secondary schools. From the findings obtained, it has been established that there were significant effects resulting from plyometric training in terms of developing certain types of muscular strength and long-range shooting skills among futsal players

Abstract

Speed, Agility, and Quickness (SAQ) training is widely recognized as an effective approach to improve athletic performance in basketball, a sport requiring rapid movement, directional changes, and cardiovascular efficiency. Previous research has demonstrated that SAQ training significantly enhances speed, agility, and skill performance with statistically significant outcomes (p < 0.05) across multiple variables (Sun et al., 2025; Moselhy, 2020). Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effect of SAQ training on selected physical abilities, basketball skills, and functional heart variables, as well as to develop a tailored training program. An experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was used, involving 15 basketball players aged 17–18 years from Hit Sport Club. A preliminary study with 5 players was conducted to validate the procedures. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests. The results showed significant improvements (p < 0.05) in all variables. Physical performance increased, with transitional speed improving by 21.60% and agility by 24.06%. Skill performance also improved, including shooting accuracy (26.85%) and lay-up performance (41.86%). Functional heart variables demonstrated positive adaptations, including exercise heart rate (24.50%), resting heart rate (4.05%), and post-exercise heart rate (46.44%), consistent with previous findings (Lee et al., 2024; Si et al., 2025). In conclusion, SAQ training effectively enhances physical fitness, basketball skills, and cardiovascular efficiency, supporting its inclusion in modern basketball training programs.
