Abstract

Content analysis is an increasingly developing research method in Qur'anic tafsir studies for identifying patterns, key concepts, and significant relationships among elements in the sacred text. This study aims to explore deep understanding of tafsir data analysis techniques through the content analysis approach by combining quantitative and qualitative dimensions. Through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates hermeneutics, linguistics, and cultural studies, this research details the steps of the content analysis method to provide clear guidance for interpreters in confronting sacred texts. The findings show that content analysis does not only focus on linguistic aspects, but also accommodates contextual and cultural dimensions that influence verse comprehension. This method provides a positive contribution to the development of interpretation methodology, particularly in the context of thematic tafsir studies.

Abstract

This study discusses the deepening of research methodology as a strategy to improve research proposals. A good proposal requires coherence between the research problem, objectives, approach, data collection techniques, and data analysis. In practice, however, many proposals are still weak in methodological aspects and therefore need to be strengthened through a deeper understanding of research methodology. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research design. Data were collected from relevant literature and then analyzed descriptively and analytically. The discussion results show that a deeper understanding of research methodology plays an important role in helping researchers choose the appropriate research design, arrange research steps systematically, and improve the academic quality of the proposal. Thus, mastery of methodology becomes the main basis for producing a mature, logical, and feasible research proposal.

Abstract

This paper aims to examine the definition, historical development, and prominent figures of Balaghatul Qur’an as a foundational framework for understanding the linguistic inimitability of the Qur’an. Etymologically, balaghah derives from the Arabic root balagh, meaning “to reach”, referring to the ability to convey a message precisely and impressively to the audience. Terminologically, this discipline encompasses three main branches: Ilm al-Ma’ani, which studies the conformity of sentences with their context; Ilm al-Bayan, which examines various figurative expressions such as tasybih (simile), isti’arah (metaphor), and kinayah (allusion); and Ilm al-Badi’, which addresses the aesthetic dimensions of both form and meaning. Balaghatul Qur’an specifically applies these rhetorical sciences to uncover the beauty and miraculous nature of Qur’anic language, which no human or jinn can replicate. The historical development of this science progressed gradually, beginning with the pre-Islamic Arab literary tradition, evolving during the early Islamic period as a scholarly response to the need for deeper Qur’anic understanding, reaching systematic maturity between the 3rd and 7th centuries Hijri, and undergoing methodological renewal in the modern era. Eminent scholars who made monumental contributions to this field include Abu Ubaidah Ma’mar bin Mutsanna through Majaz al-Qur’an, Al-Jahiz through al-Bayan wa al-Tabyin, Abd al-Qahir al-Jurjani through the al-nazm theory in Dala’il al-I'jaz, Al-Zamakhsyari through the al-Kasysyaf exegesis, Al-Sakkaki through Miftah al-‘lum, and Ali al-Jarim and Mustafa Amin through al-Balaghah al-Wadhihah in the modern period.

Abstract

The development of information technology has brought significant changes to the way people access and understand hadith. Previously, hadith was studied through structured scholarly traditions under the guidance of qualified scholars. Today, however, hadith can be accessed instantly through various digital platforms and social media. This phenomenon provides positive impacts in the form of easier access to Islamic sources, but it also creates various challenges related to the authority of hadith scholarship. This study aims to analyze the problems of hadith authority in the modern era and its relationship with the development of social media. The research employs a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach. The findings indicate that social media has contributed to a shift in religious authority from traditional scholars to more popular digital figures. In addition, the spread of unverified hadiths, low levels of hadith literacy among the public, and the tendency to interpret hadith textually are major challenges in maintaining the authority of hadith. Therefore, strengthening hadith literacy, promoting the culture of tabayyun (verification), and optimizing the role of scholars and academics in digital spaces are necessary to preserve hadith as an authoritative source of Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of harmony and the values of mutual respect in the social verses of the Qur’an. The study is motivated by the growing challenges of modern society, such as intolerance, discrimination, hate speech, and social conflict in multicultural communities. The objective of this study is to analyze the concept of harmony in the Qur’an and to explain the values of tolerance, brotherhood, social justice, and the prohibition against insulting others and harboring ill will in social life. The study employs a qualitative method using a literature review approach (library research). Data were obtained from the Qur’an, exegetical works, books, and relevant scientific journals, and were then analyzed using a descriptive-analytical approach. The results of the study indicate that the Qur’an establishes harmony as the foundation of social life through the reinforcement of the values of tolerance, brotherhood, justice, and respect for human dignity. These values are reflected in Surah An-Nahl verse 125, Surah Al-Hujurat verses 10–12, and Surah Al-Ma’idah verse 8. The social values in the Qur’an hold strong relevance in modern life as a guide for building a peaceful, harmonious, and mutually respectful society.

Abstract

This study examines Muhammad Syahrur's deconstructive thinking in response to the deadlock in Islamic interpretation in the modern era. By combining scientific logic and linguistics, Syahrur introduces the “Theory of Limits” as a new tool for understanding the legal verses in the Qur'an more dynamically. The main focus of this paper is to examine how this theory is applied to the verses concerning women's genitals, particularly in the reinterpretation of the term al-juyub. Through this contemporary reading, Syahrur offers a new perspective that the boundaries of Muslim clothing have a flexible range between minimum and maximum values. The results of the study show that Syahrur's thinking is not merely a free ijtihad, but an intellectual effort to prove that the message of the Qur'an remains relevant and capable of dialogue with the sociocultural realities of the 21st century.

Abstract

Studies on Qur’anic exegesis continue to develop in line with changing perspectives on sources of knowledge, interpretive methods, and contextual frameworks. However, research examining this transformation from an epistemological perspective remains limited. This study aims to analyze the shift in the paradigm of Qur’anic exegesis from the classical period to the modern and contemporary eras, with a focus on changes in its underlying epistemological structure. This research employs a qualitative method based on library research using descriptive-analytical and comparative approaches. The findings indicate that the transformation of exegesis is not merely methodological but also epistemological, particularly in the relationship between revelation, reason, and context. Modern exegesis tends to integrate rationality with textual authority, while contemporary exegesis expands this framework through contextual and interdisciplinary approaches. The novelty of this study lies in its emphasis that the transformation of exegesis constitutes a dialectical process between normative tradition and historical dynamics. However, this expansion of interpretive space may also generate subjectivity; therefore, a balance between textual and contextual approaches is required to maintain the scientific validity of Qur’anic interpretation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine Fazlur Rahman's double movement theory, a contemporary approach to Qur'anic interpretation involving two movements: the first, which begins with a contemporary perspective, leading to the time when the Qur'an was revealed, and the second, which returns to the present. In general, this movement combines inductive and deductive reasoning. This study uses a qualitative analysis method using Fazlur Rahman's double movement theory and library research, examining various relevant literature sources. The results of this study indicate that Fazlur Rahman's double movement hermeneutic has proven effective in dynamizing contemporary Qur'anic interpretation by distilling eternal moral principles from historical context and adaptively applying them to modern issues such as qisas (religious retaliation), social ethics, and equality, thus producing a relevant, systematic understanding, avoiding classical literalism, and strengthening the relevance of Islam in the global era.

Abstract

Buku Hukum Ekonomi Syariah: Analisis Fikih dan Ekonomi Syariah membahas berbagai konsep dan prinsip dasar hukum ekonomi Islam yang menjadi landasan dalam pelaksanaan aktivitas ekonomi sesuai syariat. Materi yang disajikan mengintegrasikan kajian fikih muamalah dengan perkembangan sistem ekonomi syariah modern sehingga pembaca dapat memahami tidak hanya dasar hukum setiap transaksi, tetapi juga penerapannya dalam lembaga keuangan dan kegiatan ekonomi kontemporer. Dengan penyajian yang sistematis, buku ini mengulas berbagai bentuk akad, prinsip keadilan, larangan riba, gharar, dan maysir, serta aspek hukum yang mengatur hubungan ekonomi antarpihak. Oleh karena itu, buku ini menjadi salah satu referensi yang relevan bagi mahasiswa, akademisi, maupun praktisi yang ingin memahami hukum ekonomi syariah secara konseptual maupun aplikatif.

Abstract

Critical Book Review (CBR) ini membahas buku Kompilasi Hukum Ekonomi Syariah karya Nilfatri yang menguraikan konsep, prinsip, serta penerapan hukum ekonomi syariah di Indonesia. Tujuan penulisan CBR ini adalah untuk memahami isi buku, menganalisis materi yang disajikan, serta memberikan penilaian terhadap kelebihan dan kelemahannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan dengan cara membaca, memahami, merangkum, dan mengkaji isi setiap bab dalam buku. Hasil pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa hukum ekonomi syariah merupakan sistem hukum yang berlandaskan Al-Qur'an, Hadis, ijma', qiyas, dan peraturan perundang-undangan yang berlaku di Indonesia. Buku ini menjelaskan berbagai konsep penting, seperti prinsip-prinsip ekonomi syariah, akad-akad dalam transaksi, penyelesaian sengketa ekonomi syariah, perbankan syariah, serta pasar modal syariah beserta berbagai instrumen investasinya, seperti saham syariah, sukuk, dan reksa dana syariah. Selain itu, buku ini juga menekankan pentingnya penerapan nilai keadilan, transparansi, amanah, dan kemaslahatan dalam setiap aktivitas ekonomi. Secara keseluruhan, buku ini memberikan pemahaman yang komprehensif mengenai hukum ekonomi syariah serta relevan sebagai referensi bagi mahasiswa, akademisi, maupun masyarakat yang ingin mempelajari sistem ekonomi berbasis syariah. Meskipun masih terdapat beberapa kekurangan, seperti penggunaan istilah yang cukup teknis dan minimnya contoh kasus, buku ini tetap layak dijadikan sumber pembelajaran karena memiliki dasar hukum yang kuat dan pembahasan yang sistematis.
