Abstract

This research evaluates the effectiveness of the Poor Student Assistance Program (PSAP) in enhancing academic achievement among elementary school students from low-income backgrounds. The study investigates the primary factors influencing academic achievement and examines the correlation between PSAP participation and improvements in student outcomes. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, standardized test scores, and qualitative interviews, the research identifies socio-economic status, quality of instruction, family support, school climate, and student engagement as key determinants of academic success. The findings reveal a significant positive correlation between PSAP participation and academic performance, with participants demonstrating higher gains in standardized test scores, grades, and attendance rates compared to non-participants. These results underscore the effectiveness of targeted interventions like the PSAP in addressing educational disparities and promoting equitable outcomes for all students. The implications derived from the study's findings highlight the importance of targeted interventions, resource allocation, evidence-based practices, holistic support, differentiated instruction, family engagement, and a focus on long-term impact and contextual factors. Ultimately, this research contributes to the broader discourse on educational equity and offers actionable insights for policymakers, educators, and researchers seeking to promote academic success among economically disadvantaged students.

Abstract

Aquaculture hatcheries play a crucial role in providing sustainable seed supply for aquaculture operations, with cyst production and quality being fundamental factors influencing their success. This research aimed to assess the impact of fish silage, a fermented fish product, on cyst production and quality in aquaculture. The study involved evaluating cyst yield, size, viability, nutritional composition, and growth performance parameters of cysts derived from fish fed with fish silage-based diets compared to conventional feeds. Findings revealed that fish silage-fed fish exhibited significantly higher cyst yields, larger cyst sizes, and superior cyst quality, characterized by higher viability rates and hatching success. Nutritional analysis showed that cysts derived from fish silage-fed fish had higher protein, lipid, and essential fatty acid content. Additionally, larvae hatched from cysts derived from fish silage-fed fish demonstrated better growth performance parameters. These results suggest that fish silage positively influences cyst production and quality in aquaculture through mechanisms involving nutritional composition, microbial activity, and physiological responses. The implications of these findings for aquaculture practices include the potential use of fish silage as a valuable feed ingredient to enhance reproductive performance, cyst yield, and larval quality.

Abstract

The fishing industry in North Maluku faces multifaceted challenges due to modernization, including economic fluctuations, environmental degradation, and social dynamics. To navigate these challenges, fishermen have adopted various adaptive strategies aimed at ensuring the sustainability of their livelihoods and the fishing sector. This research explores the adaptive strategies employed by fishermen in North Maluku and evaluates their effectiveness in addressing the challenges posed by the modern era. Through a mixed-methods approach involving surveys and interviews, data were collected to understand the diversification of livelihoods, adoption of new technologies, changes in fishing practices, and collective action among fishermen. The findings reveal that fishermen in North Maluku engage in multiple income-generating activities, utilize modern fishing equipment, implement changes in fishing techniques, and participate in collective management approaches. While these strategies demonstrate resilience and innovation among fishermen, challenges such as limited access to resources, market constraints, and environmental impacts pose potential limitations. Addressing these challenges requires collaboration among fishermen, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable practices and ensure the long-term viability of the fishing industry in North Maluku and beyond.

Abstract

This research explores the influence of music on student consumptive behavior, focusing on the role of music preferences, mood, and purchasing decisions. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative survey data with qualitative insights from interviews and focus groups. The survey revealed that students' genre preferences were positively correlated with their shopping behavior, suggesting that the type of music they listen to may influence their purchasing decisions. Additionally, students who reported feeling happier and more relaxed while shopping were more likely to make impulsive purchases and spend more money, suggesting that mood may influence students' spending habits. The qualitative data provided deeper insights into the emotional connection students have with music and how it influences their perceptions of products. Overall, the findings suggest that music plays a significant role in shaping students' shopping experiences and consumer behavior, with practical implications for marketers, retailers, and educators.

Abstract

In a digital age where media consumption is ubiquitous, understanding the impact of media exposure on the creative abilities of students is imperative. This research explores the intricate relationship between media exposure and the poetry writing skills of Class X students, focusing on the thematic motif of "connecting" in media content. The study employs a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative assessment of poetry writing skills and qualitative analysis of media content and student interviews. The findings reveal a significant positive correlation between media exposure to content featuring the "connecting" motif and the poetry writing skills of Class X students. Students who engage deeply with such media exhibit higher levels of creativity, vivid imagery, and emotional resonance in their poetry. The study further highlights gender disparities in the influence of media, with female students displaying a more pronounced correlation. These results underscore the potential of media to serve as a catalyst for nurturing creativity in the classroom. They emphasize the importance of media literacy education, curriculum integration, and gender-responsive teaching strategies. The study also calls for further research to delve into the mechanisms governing the relationship between media and creative writing, explore the influence of different media types, cultural factors, and individual characteristics, and conduct longitudinal studies to trace the long-term impact of media exposure on creative abilities.

Abstract

Depression poses a significant challenge to the well-being of elderly individuals, necessitating effective interventions beyond traditional pharmacotherapy. Through a rigorous mixed-methods design, the study explores the impact of music therapy interventions on depressive symptoms and quality of life in a sample of elderly participants recruited from community-based settings. The research employs a pre-post intervention design, with participants randomly assigned to either a music therapy intervention group or a wait-list control group. Quantitative assessments utilizing standardized measures, including the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) and the Short Form Health Survey (SF-36), are administered at multiple time points to evaluate changes in depressive symptoms and quality of life. Preliminary findings suggest promising results, with participants in the music therapy intervention group demonstrating significant reductions in depressive symptoms and improvements in overall quality of life compared to the control group. Quantitative analyses reveal statistically significant changes in depression scores and quality of life measures, while qualitative data offer nuanced narratives highlighting the therapeutic value of music therapy in promoting emotional expression, social connection, and personal growth among older adults. The implications of this research extend to theoretical frameworks, clinical practice, and policy development in geriatric mental health. By advancing our understanding of the therapeutic effects of music therapy and informing evidence-based practice guidelines, this study contributes to the integration of music therapy into comprehensive care models for older adults.
