Abstract

This study aims to examine the interconnection between the values of Civic Education (PKn) and the principles of Sharia economics in the development of young entrepreneurs in the digital era, where digital transformation opens broad entrepreneurial opportunities through online platforms while simultaneously presenting challenges such as unhealthy competition, lack of transparency, and declining integrity in business practices. Using a literature review method, this research analyzes various theoretical sources related to Civic Education values, civic ethics, Sharia economic principles, and digital entrepreneurship. The findings indicate that Civic Education values—such as responsibility, honesty, legal awareness, and social concern—play a significant role in shaping the ethical character of young entrepreneurs, while Sharia economic principles, including justice, halal orientation, and the prohibition of gharar, reinforce fair, transparent, and accountable digital business practices. The integration of these two frameworks provides a comprehensive ethical foundation that supports the development of young entrepreneurs who are not only economically capable but also possess strong moral character and a commitment to the public good, thereby contributing to a sustainable and ethical digital entrepreneurship ecosystem

Abstract

This study analyzes the application of the rule of law principle in cases of violence by officials against online motorcycle taxi drivers, focusing on the incident in which Affan Kurniawan died after being run over by a Brimob tactical vehicle. This case attracted public attention because it was considered to reflect unequal treatment under the law between officials and civilians. Using a qualitative approach and case study method supported by literature review, this study examines the chronology of events, institutional responses, and their relevance to the principles of the rule of law, equality before the law, and human rights protection as stipulated in the 1945 Constitution, the Criminal Code, the TNI Law, and the Human Rights Law. The findings of this study reveal a structural pattern of impunity for officials, weak internal accountability, overlapping military-civilian jurisdictions, minimal transparency, and power bias in the legal process. These conditions have resulted in civilians, especially ojol workers in the gig economy who are in a vulnerable position, not receiving equal legal protection. This study confirms that the handling of cases of violence by officials is still far from the ideal rule of law, and that more independent, transparent, and integrated accountability mechanisms are needed to ensure justice for victims and increase the legitimacy of security institutions

Abstract

The issue of Satria Arta Kumbara (S.A.K.) losing his citizenship after joining a foreign military highlights the tension between state sovereignty and human rights responsibilities. This study aims to analyze S.A.K.'s legal status based on Law Number 12 of 2006 (Law No. 12/2006), identify the implications of statelessness, and critique the government's policy response. The methods used are Normative Law (analysis of Articles 23f and 32 of Law No. 12/2006) enriched with a Qualitative-Contextual approach through interviews to examine policy criticism and humanitarian dimensions. The results of the study show that the status of Indonesian citizens S.A.K. normatively fulfills the elements for automatic loss (ex-lege) as an affirmation of the principle of single loyalty. However, in practice, S.A.K.'s status is uncertain because the government has not issued an official decision (Dhanis, personal communication via WhatsApp, December 6, 2025), which indicates a discrepancy between practice and regulations. This ambiguity has the potential to create a condition of statelessness that strips S.A.K. of his civil rights and diplomatic protection, a condition that contradicts the spirit of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The main criticism arises from the sharp procedural asymmetry: the sanction of losing status is instantaneous, while the path to recovery (reacquisition under Article 32) is long and bureaucratic, disproportionately prolonging the duration of statelessness. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the need for policy reform to be more adaptive and proportional. Three pillars of improvement are recommended: strengthening preventive policies, simplifying reacquisition procedures to minimize statelessness, and developing diplomatic humanitarian protocols

Abstract

The development of digital technology has shaped the interaction patterns of Generation Z, yet it has also increased the risk of cyberbullying, which poses serious impacts on their psychological, social, and civic character development. This study aims to identify the forms of cyberbullying experienced by Generation Z, analyze its effects on emotional development, social relationships, academic performance, and examine its implications for the formation of digital citizenship character. This research employs a literature review (library research) method by examining national and international journals, institutional reports, and relevant scientific publications selected through a systematic screening process. Illustrative cases involving public figuressuch as the cyberbullying experienced by TikTok influencer Fujianti Utami are used as contextual examples without serving as the main data source. The findings show that common forms of cyberbullying include flaming, harassment, denigration, impersonation, and trickery, all of which contribute to anxiety, insecurity, lower self-esteem, social isolation, difficulty concentrating, and decreased learning motivation. Long-term impacts are also evident in the formation of civic character, including weakened empathy, reduced self-control, diminished critical thinking skills, and declining social responsibility in digital spaces. These findings affirm that cyberbullying is not merely an interpersonal issue but also a threat to the development of smart, ethical, and responsible digital citizens. This study recommends strengthening value-based digital literacy, promoting social media ethics education, and enhancing collaboration among families, schools, government, and digital platforms to create a safe and civil digital environment.

Abstract

Teacher performance constitutes a critical determinant of educational effectiveness and institutional quality. Within contemporary educational settings, the capacity to maintain an equilibrium between professional responsibilities and personal life (work life balance) as well as the proactive modification of work roles to align with one’s strengths and preferences (job crafting) are increasingly recognized as influential factors shaping teacher outcomes. This study investigates the extent to which work–life balance and job crafting affect the performance of teachers at Sultan Agung Private Junior High School Pematangsiantar. Employing a quantitative research design with a survey approach, data were gathered from 31 teachers through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire and subsequently analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings reveal that work–life balance exerts a positive and statistically significant effect on teacher performance, whereas job crafting demonstrates a positive yet statistically insignificant contribution. Collectively, both predictors account for 64% of the variance in teacher performance. These results underscore the dominant role of work–life balance as a determinant of performance within private educational institutions and suggest that job crafting may require stronger organizational facilitation to manifest its potential impact. The study recommends that school administrators strengthen policies that support work–life balance and cultivate organizational conditions that enable teachers to engage more effectively in adaptive job crafting practices.

Abstract

Amidst the challenges of globalization that erode national identity, Civic Education in higher education becomes an important instrument to foster students' sense of nationalism. This study aims to determine the perspectives of students at Universitas PGRI Wiranegara (Uniwara) regarding the role of Civic Education in building an attitude of love for the homeland. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with several students from various faculties. The findings show that students view Civic Education as an effective means to understand the values of Pancasila, the history of the nation's struggle, and civic responsibility, which strengthens the sense of nationalism. However, they were criticized the monotonous teaching methods and the lack of relevance of the material to current issues, such as tolerance and diversity. This study implies the need for Civic Education curriculum reform with an interactive approach, such as group discussions and the use of digital media, to increase its relevance and impact in forming contextual nationalism. These findings contribute to the development of educational strategies that are responsive to the needs of the younger generation in the global era, especially at Uniwara, and strengthen the commitment of higher education in maintaining national identity

Abstract

Character education is a strategic foundation of the Indonesian national education system, aiming to develop students who are not only academically competent but also possess integrity, ethical awareness, and social responsibility. Although character education has been conceptually integrated into educational policies and curricula, its implementation in schools continues to face various challenges. This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of character education at Rahayu Chandra Bethania Elementary School, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and formulate effective and contextual strategies for character education implementation. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the study involved all 50 students of the school as research participants. Data were collected through classroom and school activity observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. Data analysis was conducted inductively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through methodological triangulation. The findings indicate that character education is systematically implemented through structured and routine activities, including daily morning prayers, literacy and numeracy programs conducted from Tuesday to Thursday, Bible study sessions every Friday, and weekly Talent and Career Day activities on Saturdays. These programs have proven effective in fostering students’ religious values, discipline, responsibility, creativity, independence, and self-confidence. The consistency of program implementation, teachers’ role modeling, and a supportive school culture emerged as key factors contributing to the success of character education. This study confirms that integrating character education into daily school activities is an effective and sustainable approach to fostering holistic character development among elementary school students

Abstract

The increasing emphasis on communicative competence in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction highlights the need for effective pedagogical approaches to improve learners’ writing skills. Project-Based Learning (PjBL) has gained attention as an instructional model that integrates authentic tasks, collaboration, and learner autonomy in writing instruction. This study aims to systematically examine the role of Project-Based Learning in enhancing EFL learners’ English writing skills based on empirical studies published between 2023 and 2025. Employing a qualitative Systematic Literature Review (SLR), this study follows the PRISMA 2020 guidelines and applies the PICOS framework to define the scope of analysis. Literature searches were conducted using the Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, and Google Scholar databases with predefined Boolean search strategies. The initial search yielded 91 journal articles, which were screened using established inclusion and exclusion criteria. Through the selection and data charting process, 13 peer-reviewed empirical studies were identified and systematically analyzed. The selected studies were synthesized in a matrix table of study characteristics and analyzed using thematic synthesis and descriptive analysis to identify patterns related to PjBL designs, project types, writing components, and reported challenges. The findings indicated that Project-Based Learning consistently improves EFL learners’ writing performance, particularly in content development, text organization, vocabulary use, and learner engagement. However, improvements in micro-linguistic aspects such as grammatical accuracy, cohesion, and writing mechanics are less consistently reported. This review highlighted methodological limitations in existing studies and offers implications for pedagogy and future research, particularly regarding longitudinal designs, cross-genre writing development, and digital integration.
