Jurnal Studi Ilmu Komunikasi (JSIKOM) adalah jurnal open access yang diterbitkan oleh Prodi Ilmu Komunikasi FISIP Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Fatah Palembang terbit 3 kali dalam setahun pada bulan Januari, Mei dan September. Abstract

including sSocial media has become an inseparable trend among society and teenagers. the use of social media can have a positive impact adn negative impacts among adolosescent, one of which is behavior change in adoloescents who are influencend by social media. Adoloscence is a transition from chilhood to adulthood that is prone to negative influences including from social media. the location of the study was conducted in Rw 10 Palembang which has 4 Rt, that is Rt 37,38,39,40. The type of research with questionnaire data collection techniques with likert scale measurements to measure 24 statements and the sample used is 64 respondens who are teenagers in Rw 10. Data analysis techniques used in this study include normality test, reliability test, linearity test, simple regression analysis test, hypothesis test. The result showed the value of the coefficient of determination (R square) 0,664 wgich contains the understanding taht use of free variable social media (Youtube social media use) against bound variables (behavior change) is 65,7% the result of a simple linear analysis obtained Y=4.953+0,907 X, the result of simple linear test of coefficients show that the value of the regression coefficient of social media use of 0,907 which is positive. The result of the t test analysis obtained a calculation of 11, 073 while the t tabel value was 1,669, thus that the calculated value of 11,073 > 1,669 (H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted)

Abstract

This study aims to find out and analyze the meaning of communication patterns between parents and children from the communication process of couples who are married to fellow Tanjung tribes in Minangkabau, Lubuk Basung, West Sumatra. Communication is a form of foundation that cannot be separated from humans as social beings. This research focuses on knowing how the communication patterns of parents towards children who violate the customary prohibition of same-ethnic marriage and can understand the values ​​contained in the customary prohibition of same-ethnic marriage. In this study using descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The informants in this study were couples who married the same tribe and parents of couples who married the same ethnic group, namely three parents of children who violated adat and three couples who violated the customary prohibition of same-ethnic marriage. This research is based on phenomenological theory. The results of the study show that actually marriage has become something that must be done by lovers, but in the custom of same-tribe marriage this has its own uniqueness in Minangkabau custom, namely couples are prohibited from marrying even though they are not siblings. This is something that can change the pattern of communication between children and parents. Changes in children's communication patterns with their parents can be seen from before the couple got married where the couple who violated the custom were very close to the family and there were no obstacles in communicating with the family. Then after they get married the communication that occurs between parents and children is inversely proportional before they get married. After they got married, the couple found it very difficult to communicate with their family because the couple had to obey the customary law in Minangkabau, Lubuk Basung, West Sumatra.

Abstract

Communications carried out on social media do not always use standard language, or language that matches Indonesian enhanced spelling (EYD), this causes many social media users to ignore aspects of values, norms and communication ethics. The social regulation system becomes mutual respect and is known as courtesy, manners, protocol and others. The purpose of the association guidelines is none other than to safeguard the interests of each involved so that they are happy, calm, peaceful, protected without harming their interests and guaranteed that their actions are carried out in accordance with prevailing customs and do not conflict with general human rights. This study aims to determine the communication ethics of using social media Instagram on students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. The assessment approach used in this research is a qualitative research approach that uses data collection such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of the research that the researchers have done, the researchers conclude that; The ethics of communication for the use of social media "Instagram" for Social Sciences students at Uin Raden Fatah Palembang, namely by getting to know the rules, before using social media, users are encouraged to know the rules that apply. Understand the age limit for social media users, social media does not have content filters in it, so negative images or news often appear that children should not see. Then pay attention to uploads, social media users are also expected to be very clever in sorting out personal things to upload. Filter before sharing, because those who still swallow the information they get raw and immediately spread the news without knowing the truth, causing hoax news to go viral faster, especially when using social media.

Abstract

The @explorebelitung account is one of the Belitung island tourism tour and travel instagram accounts which was created in 2014 and has 52.2 thousand followers on Instagram, this account also has its own travel agent for tourists who are interested in visiting Belitung island and need a tour guide. The purpose of this study was to find out Instagram as a media for promoting tourism in the Belitung Islands in a marketing communication strategy. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are by observation, interviews, and documentation. The primary data source of this research is data from the owner of the Instagram account @explorebelitung through interviews. The secondary data sources are journals, websites, books, and personal archives from the @explorebelitung account. The theory used is the 7P marketing mix theory proposed by Philip Kotler and keller in which there are elements in it, namely Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process, Physical Evidence. The results found in this study are Instagram media has succeeded in being a promotional media for Belitung islands tourism which is shown through a marketing communication strategy, it was found that the products are tour and travel packages, land vehicle rentals, marine vehicle rentals, and documentation services. The price is shown at the price with included attached. Place in this case is the Instagram account @explorebelitung itself. And the Promotion process in this account is always conveyed through an Instagram account but only applies to promotions about destinations and education about tourism in the Belitung islands. The people in this study are HR members who are members of the @explorebelitung Instagram account such as admins, tour guides, and documentation photographers.

Abstract

Gender equality is basically the same in all walks of life. God created male and female humans to be the same because they are the highest form of life on earth. However, sometimes there are several things that make the low role of women in life that often occurs, including in the world of work such as television stations, women's expectations for their role in society have shifted due to technological changes and globalization, many women have been proven to be able to lead their own lives in the world and leave the house. to pursue their interests outside the home is what can further their own professional and personal development as women. And it is believed to have a significant influence on the tendency of female television workers to represent the lack of women in the world of work. This research was conducted qualitatively directly at PAL TV Palembang Station. Respondents in this study were the main sources of women who worked in the PAL TV media industry. Functional Structural Theory explains that there are 3 elements that play an important role in this theory, namely: division of labor according to needs, function of social structure, and system of social structure. Which shows that the majority of women at the PAL TV Palembang station still feel that there is gender inequality in the world of work which they experience such as promotion and leading at every event. The purpose of this research is to find out whether it is true that in the PAL TV station there are employees who feel gender inequality. By proving the existence of this research, the researchers hope that there will be equality for women and men workers at the PAL TV station so that they can reconsider the things that are the root of the problem in this research.

Abstract

Dakwah today does not only have to be delivered at recitations or events commemorating Islamic days, and does not always take place in mosques, ta'lim assemblies or other places. Da'wah delivered today can be conveyed through social media, one of which is YouTube. One of the preachers who utilizes social media YouTube as a means of preaching is Ustadz Hilman Fauzi, where he has a personal YouTube channel which often uploads da'wah content in the form of religious lectures. This study aims to analyze persuasive communication messages and YouTube audience acceptance of da'wah messages on Ustadz Hilman Fauzi's YouTube videos. The method used in this study is a qualitative method based on the reception analysis theory approach. Sources of data obtained from the results of documentation, observation and in-depth interviews. The results of the study show that there are several dominant messages displayed in Ustadz Hilman Fauzi's YouTube videos. Then the informants had various acceptances of the dominant discourse offered and were classified into three different positions, namely dominant positions, negotiations and opposition.

Abstract

Instagram is a social media that is used by its users as a social resource for sharing information in the form of photos, videos and captions. One of the companies that has Instagram is Perumda Tirta Musi Palembang. With Instagram costumers can easly get information, required in complete and practical manner. The problem identified is the role of using Perumda Tirta Musi’s Instagram as a customer information. Where the data collection technique in this study used observation, documentation and interview data. The data used were analyzed qualitatively. The result in this study indicate that Perumda Tirta Musi Palembang’s Instagram social media provides convenience benefits for providing as well as being a media information for Perumda Tirta Musi’s Customer.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the group communication process on social media, with a focus on K-Pop fan groups Red Velvet and Blackpink on Twitter. The use of social media as a means of group communication has experienced rapid growth in recent years. This research uses a qualitative approach by analyzing the interacting accounts as well as a descriptive approach to get results that match the findings. The research method involved participant observation. Data was collected from a political Red Velvet and Blackpink community group consisting of 11 active members on Twitter. Various main aspects to be exploited in this research are group communication such as communication process, communication formation, communication style, and factors that influence the two communities to support each other so that they have differences from the group. The results of this study show that the group communication process of the Red Velvet and Blackpink communities on social media tends to be dynamic. It was found that each group member has a tendency to support other communities based on factors and their liking for the group itself. In addition, community members also consistently overcome cultural differences to avoid barriers and build significant friendship relationships. thus making these two communities have a big difference compared to other communities. This research provides a better understanding of group communication dynamics on social media, particularly in the context of Kpop fan group communication on Twitter. The findings have important implications in understanding how relationships and information are formed, addressing public opinion, as well as the implementation that K-pop fans should apply in the future.Keywords: group communication, Twitter, K-pop fans

Abstract

Television mass media is one of the mainstream media that has become a reference for access to information by Indonesian people since the New Order to the Reformation Order. However, the presence of digital-based online media (internet) seems to direct all the attention of society, including the need for information. This study aims to analyze the strategy of Maluku station LPP TVRI in maintaining its existence as a public television in the digitalization era. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative with observation methods, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research results show that there are six things that TVRI Maluku Station strives to maintain its existence as Public Television in the digitalization era (1) TVRI Maluku Station focuses on fostering and compiling content with more weighty broadcast programs, (2) Presenting broadcast programs quality and accepted by the community, (3) Repairing good and sophisticated infrastructure according to the times, (4) Increasing reliable and professional human resources, (5) Building synergy between all parties, namely technical institutions from the ministry of communication and information, the government provincial, district government, and academics who took part in realizing a Victorious TVRI, and (6) TVRI Maluku stations remained consistent in presenting broadcasts that were appropriate following P3SPS (Broadcasting Behavior Guidelines and Broadcast Program Standards) for the public without hunting for ratings.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis representasi nilai kesetaraan ras dan gender pada film live action Disney Aladdin (2019), Pinocchio (2022), dan The Little Mermaid (2023) dengan menggunakan teori semiotika Roland Barthes. Analisis dilakukan dengan mengamati tanda-tanda dan simbol-simbol yang terdapat dalam film-film tersebut. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ketiga film tersebut secara umum telah mewakili nilai kesetaraan ras dan gender. Hal ini terlihat dari adanya karakter-karakter yang beragam dari segi ras, nilai kesetaraan gender, dan latar belakang sosial. Selain itu, film-film tersebut juga menampilkan pesan-pesan yang mendukung nilai kesetaraan, seperti pentingnya menghargai perbedaan, pentingnya kerja sama, dan pentingnya kesetaraan gender. Namun, penelitian ini juga menemukan beberapa agenda tersembunyi dan kontroversi terkait representasi nilai kesetaraan pada film-film tersebut. Seperti adanya dugaan tokenism dan upaya menjaga citra inklusif yang dilakukan Disney. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa film live action Disney Aladdin (2019), Pinocchio (2022), dan The Little Mermaid (2023) telah memberikan kontribusi dalam mempromosikan nilai kesetaraan ras dan gender. Namun, masih diperlukan upaya-upaya lebih lanjut untuk mengatasi kontroversi yang ada.
