Abstract

The @explorebelitung account is one of the Belitung island tourism tour and travel instagram accounts which was created in 2014 and has 52.2 thousand followers on Instagram, this account also has its own travel agent for tourists who are interested in visiting Belitung island and need a tour guide. The purpose of this study was to find out Instagram as a media for promoting tourism in the Belitung Islands in a marketing communication strategy. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are by observation, interviews, and documentation. The primary data source of this research is data from the owner of the Instagram account @explorebelitung through interviews. The secondary data sources are journals, websites, books, and personal archives from the @explorebelitung account. The theory used is the 7P marketing mix theory proposed by Philip Kotler and keller in which there are elements in it, namely Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process, Physical Evidence. The results found in this study are Instagram media has succeeded in being a promotional media for Belitung islands tourism which is shown through a marketing communication strategy, it was found that the products are tour and travel packages, land vehicle rentals, marine vehicle rentals, and documentation services. The price is shown at the price with included attached. Place in this case is the Instagram account @explorebelitung itself. And the Promotion process in this account is always conveyed through an Instagram account but only applies to promotions about destinations and education about tourism in the Belitung islands. The people in this study are HR members who are members of the @explorebelitung Instagram account such as admins, tour guides, and documentation photographers.

Abstract

The State Islamic University in Palembang City is an institution that must establish a credible identity and strong reputation to attract high-quality students. To achieve this, it is essential to maintain consistent branding, with a focus on a Malay-Islamic identity. This study, titled Consistency of Malay-Islamic Branding: Building University Identity, aims to explore how consistent branding efforts can help build the university's identity. The theoretical framework for this study is based on branding consistency, derived from Fritz Heider's Balance Theory (1946). The study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews. The findings reveal several key challenges: inconsistent branding initiatives, limited resources and organizational structure, a restricted role of public relations in branding, suboptimal engagement of lecturers as brand ambassadors, and a lack of structured evaluations for assessing branding consistency at the State Islamic University in Palembang City.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas bagaimana anime One Piece memanfaatkan elemen visual untuk menyampaikan emosi kepada penonton melalui pendekatan semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Fokus penelitian terletak pada delapan emosi utama yang muncul dalam anime, yaitu amarah, kesedihan, kebahagiaan, ketakutan, cinta, terkejut, jengkel, dan rasa malu. Analisis dilakukan dengan mengamati adegan-adegan yang merepresentasikan emosi tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa elemen visual seperti warna, ekspresi wajah, gerakan tubuh, simbol, dan pencahayaan berperan penting dalam menyampaikan emosi karakter. Sebagai contoh, amarah divisualisasikan dengan dominasi warna merah dan tindakan impulsif, sedangkan kesedihan digambarkan melalui warna gelap dan adegan bernuansa reflektif. Kebahagiaan muncul dengan penggunaan warna cerah dan momen simbolis, sementara ketakutan disampaikan melalui pencahayaan gelap dan suasana yang mencekam. Emosi lain, seperti cinta, kejutan, jengkel, dan rasa malu, juga divisualisasikan dengan detail yang mendalam, memperkaya karakterisasi. Secara keseluruhan, One Piece tidak hanya menjadi tontonan yang menghibur, tetapi juga media komunikasi visual yang efektif dalam menyampaikan emosi, membangun hubungan emosional yang kuat antara penonton dan karakter.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Beauty Influencer dan Fashion Influencer di TikTok terhadap perilaku remaja di SMK Mandiri Palembang. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari siswi sekolah tersebut, dengan sampel sebanyak 80 orang. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif, dengan teori Uses and Gratifications sebagai landasan, yang mencakup lima aspek kebutuhan: kognitif, afektif, interaktif personal, sosial integratif, dan pelepasan ketegangan. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji F menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,01, yang lebih kecil dari batas 0,05. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa hipotesis nol (H₀) ditolak, sementara hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima untuk kedua variabel. Dengan demikian, Beauty Influencer dan Fashion Influencer secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perilaku remaja.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh menonton drama Korea terhadap pembentukan citra diri mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi angkatan 2021 di FISIP UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. Drama Korea menjadi bagian dari budaya populer yang banyak dikonsumsi oleh mahasiswa, memengaruhi persepsi dan citra diri mereka. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, penelitian ini melibatkan 61 responden yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan metode statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa frekuensi dan intensitas menonton drama Korea memiliki korelasi dengan pembentukan citra diri mahasiswa. Paparan terhadap nilai-nilai yang ditampilkan dalam drama, seperti gaya hidup, standar kecantikan, dan hubungan sosial, memberikan pengaruh terhadap persepsi diri mahasiswa. Teori kultivasi digunakan sebagai dasar untuk memahami bagaimana media dapat membentuk realitas sosial dan identitas individu. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa menonton drama Korea memiliki dampak signifikan terhadap pembentukan citra diri mahasiswa sebagai K-Drama lovers.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the contribution of human relations in enhancing employee work motivation within government institutions, particularly at the Agency for the Control and Supervision of Marine and Fishery Product Quality (BPPMHKP) in Palembang City. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research is grounded in Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory and the ten principles of human relations proposed by Sondang P. Siagian. The findings reveal that the implementation of human relations practices at BPPMHKP Palembang positively influences employee motivation. Harmonious working relationships, recognition of employee contributions, and open communication are identified as key factors that drive enthusiasm and productivity among employees. Nevertheless, several challenges persist, such as uneven workloads and limited access to training programs, which require further managerial attention. This study concludes that effective human relations can serve as a strategic approach to fostering a supportive and motivating work environment within the public sector

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of public broadcasting institutions, especially Pro 4 RRI Palembang, in preserving local culture through the “Obrolan Sriwijaya” program. In the era of globalization and increasingly developing digital media, local culture faces challenges in maintaining its existence. The “Obrolan Sriwijaya” program is presented as an educational media and a representation of Palembang culture, which is broadcast periodically. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The study results show that this program plays an important role in shaping cultural awareness, building local community identity, and setting a cultural agenda through the media. This program also succeeded in presenting cultural speakers, using local languages, and raising themes that are relevant to Palembang traditions.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The use of live streaming features in dating applications such as Tantan has led to the phenomenon of male users giving gift points to female hosts, which not only reflects entertainment activity but also serves as a form of symbolic communication, especially for users with lower self esteem. This study aims to explore how virtual interaction is interpreted by gift Point givers toward users with lower self esteem within the context of the Tantan application in Palembang. The research applies the theory of symbolic interactionism by George Herbert Mead and Herbert Blumer, which emphasizes that social meaning is constructed through interaction processes and the use of communication symbols. This study employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews with seven male informants who have used Tantan for over a year and actively give gift points via its live streaming feature. The results show that in terms of motivation, gift points are given as a form of appreciation toward hosts who are personally appealing, in the context of action, gift points function as non-verbal communication tools representing the desire to interact, in self-perception, the act helps build a sense of existence and social acceptance, in trust, the decision to give is influenced by assessments of the host's worthiness and image, in social influence, giving behavior is shaped by trends and community recommendations, and in terms of satisfaction, positive responses from hosts determine the user's comfort and continued engagement with the application. Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas strategi kreatif produseryang dilakukan dalam memproduksi program berita borgol iNews TV Palembang. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah strategi  sangat penting dalam merancang, mengarahkan, dan mengawasi seluruh proses produksi program berita. Produser bertanggung jawab untuk mengambil keputusan yang akan memengaruhi isi, presentasi, dan kualitas berita yang disampaikan kepada penonton. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah bagaimana strategi kreatif yang dilakukan produser dalam memproduksi program berita borgol iNews TV Palembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentangstrategi kreatif produser dalam memproduksi program berita borgol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi kreatif produser dalam memproduksi program berita Borgol iNews TV Palembang menunjukkan upaya untuk menyajikan informasi dengan cara yang menarik, yaitu Pertama pemilihan sumber informasi. Kedua proses penyaringan berita. Ketiga, pembukusan informasi secara kreatif. Keempat, memahami karakteristik audiens. Dengan berbagai stategi yang digunakan produser, program Borgol mampu merangkul penonton dari berbagai lapisan masyarakat, mulai dari kelas bawah hingga menengah ke atas, sambil tetap menjaga kuatnya identitas local.
