Abstract

This study aims to examine the extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) in predicting purchase intentions of organic food products. It investigates the influence of environmental awareness, environmental knowledge, attitudes toward organic food, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control on the intention to purchase organic food among young consumers in Indonesia. Using purposive sampling, data were collected from 100 respondents through an online questionnaire and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The results show that environmental knowledge has a positive and significant effect on attitudes toward organic food, whereas environmental awareness does not significantly influence attitudes. Furthermore, attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control positively and significantly affect purchase intention. However, environmental awareness and environmental knowledge do not have a direct significant impact on purchase intention. These findings suggest that internal psychological factors play a more dominant role than external factors in influencing the intention to buy organic food.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of social media as a dominant force in marketing strategies, particularly in the culinary industry in Indonesia, with a focus on the city of Medan. In recent years, the rapid growth of social media users has created significant opportunities for businesses to leverage these platforms in reaching a broader consumer base. This research refers to previous studies that show social media not only functions as a promotional tool but also as a means to build more interactive relationships between businesses and consumers. By understanding this dynamic, businesses in the culinary sector can formulate more effective marketing strategies that are responsive to consumer needs, thus enhancing their competitiveness in an increasingly competitive market. This study is expected to provide valuable insights for entrepreneurs on how to optimally utilize social media to achieve their marketing objectives.

This study uses a quantitative approach with a Likert scale to measure the variables being examined. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to all permanent employees of the Medan City KOMINFO Office, totaling 56 individuals. Validity and reliability tests were conducted to ensure the accuracy of the data. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression, hypothesis testing, and the coefficient of determination. The results show that: (1) job satisfaction partially affects employee performance at the Medan City KOMINFO Office; (2) work discipline partially affects employee performance; (3) the work environment partially influences employee performance; and (4) simultaneously, job satisfaction, work discipline, and work environment together have a positive and significant effect on employee performance at the Medan City KOMINFO Office.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and their impact on operational efficiency in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) engaged in food processing in Bantan Subdistrict, Medan. Operational efficiency is a critical factor for sustainability and competitiveness, particularly for SMEs in highly dynamic urban markets. The research employs a quantitative descriptive method with data collected through structured questionnaires and in-depth interviews with 30 SME owners. Key indicators of operational efficiency examined include production time, cost per unit, daily output, and error rates. Data analysis is conducted using linear regression to measure the relationship between SOP implementation levels and operational performance. The results show a significant positive correlation between the application of SOPs and improved production efficiency. Moreover, SMEs that applied written SOPs demonstrated lower production costs and fewer process errors compared to those without structured procedures. However, the study also identifies barriers such as limited managerial knowledge, lack of training, and resistance to change. These findings suggest the need for government-supported training programs and institutional facilitation to encourage formal SOP adoption in SMEs. The study contributes to the literature by highlighting the importance of operational formalization in enhancing SME performance and provides practical insights for local economic policy and SME development strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of financial literacy and access to financial technology on the financial performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Medan Tembung. Using an associative-causal quantitative approach, data was collected from 100 respondents through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that both financial literacy (t = 4.368; p < 0.001) and access to financial technology (t = 3.012; p = 0.003) have a positive and significant impact on the financial performance of MSMEs. This indicates that better knowledge of financial management and easier access to financial technology can improve the financial performance of MSMEs. The research model explains 61.8% (R² = 0.618) of the variation in MSME financial performance, suggesting that both financial literacy and access to financial technology play significant roles in enhancing financial outcomes. This study contributes new insights by integrating individual capacity in financial literacy and access to financial technology as simultaneous factors that strengthen MSMEs, particularly in semi-urban areas. The findings reinforce the financial capability theory, emphasizing the importance of knowledge and access to technology in enhancing individual capabilities and managing finances more effectively. The practical implications of these findings highlight the importance of designing digital-based empowerment programs for MSMEs. These programs should focus on improving financial literacy and facilitating access to financial technology for MSMEs. By implementing this approach, it is expected that MSMEs will be able to manage their finances better, increase operational efficiency, and ensure long-term financial sustainability. The government and related institutions can play a role in providing facilities and training to maximize the benefits of financial technology and improved financial literacy.
