Abstract

The Ummi method is an easy and effective method for memorizing the Qur’an that has been applied for a long time at SD IT Al-Munadi Medan. The use of the Ummi method has been running from the initial stage to significant development, and has proven effective in improving the quality of memorization of students at SD IT Al-Munadi Medan. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the Ummi method at SD IT Al-Munadi, and to assess the quality of students’ memorization of the Qur’an at the school using the Ummi method. In addition, this study also aims to identify the advantages and disadvantages of the Ummi method at SD IT Al-Munadi Medan. The subjects in this study included several tahfidz tutors, tahfizh coordinators, principals, and several students from grades V and VI who were selected as representatives. Data collection was carried out by direct observation in the field, as well as through interviews with research subjects. In addition, documentation related to this study was also collected. The results of this study indicate that there are four mandatory levels that must be completed during education at the school, where each tahfizh group is divided based on the level of surah memorized by the students. The tahfizh tutors use various methods to support the progress and development of memorization of their tahfizh members, such as muraja’ah (repeating memorization), motivation, writing, and talaqqi (direct reading in front of the teacher). In general, the quality of students’ memorization of the Qur’an has increased significantly, although it is not achieved in a short time, but rather requires a minimum of one semester. It is hoped that in the future, this ummi method program will continue to be a means for students to memorize and improve the quality of memorization of the Qur’an, so that it can produce a generation that loves the Qur’an and makes it a guideline and guidance in life.

Abstract

The challenge of Qur'an illiteracy is a serious obstacle in communities and institutions, limiting access to the interrelated understanding of the Qur'an and Arabic language learning. The development of science and technology is a challenge for Arabic language educators in improving the quality of learning. The art of calligraphy or khatt has emerged as an effective potential in overcoming illiteracy in the Koran and enriching Arabic language learning. Calligraphy is described as a beauty of taste, an advisor to the mind, a weapon of knowledge, and a secret keeper. This research discusses teachers' efforts to improve the ability to read and write the Qur'an through the art of calligraphy. Calligraphy is not only an aesthetic aspect, it is also a maharah kitabah, the ability to compose hijaiyah letters according to the rules of good and correct Arabic writing. The research methods used include literature review, direct interviews, observation and documentation. The research results show that through calligraphy training, efforts to help overcome Hijaiyah illiteracy are carried out by detecting individual abilities, designing learning programs, and assessing learning outcomes. Calligraphy is an effective instrument for overcoming illiteracy and increasing Arabic literacy. The success of learning calligraphy depends on an approach that suits individual needs. The art of calligraphy is not only a learning tool, but also brings the spiritual values and beauty of the Koran to generations learning Arabic.

Abstract

Humans, as social beings, are often involved in legal relationships that may lead to disputes. To resolve such conflicts peacefully, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) offers a non-litigation solution that is more efficient and cooperative. In Indonesia, although peaceful settlement has existed within traditional practices, the development of ADR has progressed more rapidly in Western countries. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review to examine ADR mechanisms in resolving contractual disputes. Such disputes arise from violations of contractual rights and obligations, and may be resolved through litigation or alternative methods such as mediation and arbitration. A case study on a land sale agreement illustrates that a party who has not received full payment is entitled to withhold their obligations, in accordance with the principle of exceptio non adimpleti contractus. This research also highlights the importance of strengthening ADR education in universities to prepare legal practitioners capable of handling disputes outside of court

Abstract

This study explores the intersection of the Gig Economy, algorithmic management, and Islamic work ethics within Indonesia’s halal economy governance. Using a narrative review approach based on the Scopus database with the Boolean string “GIG ECONOMY” AND “HALAL INDUSTRY,” it synthesizes multidisciplinary literature to evaluate how digital efficiency aligns with maqāṣid al-sharīʿah principles. Findings indicate hat while the platform economy expands employment opportunities, it also generates ethical challenges regarding worker autonomy, algorithmic transparency, and fair remuneration. Algorithmic control often contradicts Islamic values of ‘adl (justice), amanah (trust), and maslahah (public welfare). The study proposes sharia-based governance, Islamic social protection instruments, and blockchain-enabled algorithmic audits to enhance ethical digital labor systems. Contributing to the integration of Islamic ethics and digital governance, this research underscores the need for future empirical studies to develop measurable indicators of sharia-based algorithmic fairness for global application.

Abstract

Islamic calligraphy is not only a beautiful visual art but also an effective medium for conveying Islamic values, including the principles of sharia-based economics. This study aims to explore the role of Islamic calligraphy in disseminating the values of Islamic economics, such as justice, honesty, zakat, charity, and the prohibition of usury. A qualitative approach with a literature study method was employed to analyze the relationship between calligraphic art, sharia values, and its potential for education and da'wah. The findings reveal that Islamic calligraphy possesses aesthetic and symbolic power capable of capturing attention and delivering moral and spiritual messages profoundly. Various calligraphy works, inspired by verses from the Qur'an and hadith, often reflect sharia economic values, such as encouragement for charitable acts through zakat and charity, as well as warnings against the practice of usury. Furthermore, calligraphy serves as an educational tool for society to comprehend and internalize Islamic economic principles. This study concludes that Islamic calligraphy is not merely a cultural heritage but also a relevant medium for promoting sharia-based economic principles in Muslim communities. Further research is recommended to explore the integration of Islamic art with other fields in modern life.
