Abstract

This study investigates the disparities in water sanitation and its impact on public health in rural and urban areas of Bangladesh. Through a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative data, the research examines access to clean water, sanitation practices, and the prevalence of waterborne diseases in both regions. The quantitative component involved surveying 500 households, revealing that 65% of rural households use unsafe water sources compared to 20% in urban areas. Additionally, 48% of rural households practice open defecation, significantly higher than the 12% in urban households. The qualitative data, gathered from 30 interviews and focus group discussions, revealed that rural participants are less aware of the health risks associated with poor sanitation and water quality. The study concludes that while urban areas benefit from better infrastructure and awareness, rural areas remain underserved, highlighting the need for improved sanitation infrastructure, community engagement, and public health education. The findings contribute to the global discourse on improving water and sanitation access, supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 for clean water and sanitation for all.

Abstract

The analysis of public sentiment toward village officials in the distribution of social assistance is essential to evaluate the level of public satisfaction and the effectiveness of social programs. This study aims to analyze community sentiment using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and sentiment classification techniques with the Naive Bayes algorithm. The dataset consists of public comments collected from social media, forums, and online surveys. The results show that most public sentiment is negative, dominated by issues of injustice, delays, and lack of transparency in the distribution process. Meanwhile, some comments reflect positive and neutral sentiments, indicating satisfaction or opportunities for service improvement. The classification model achieved an accuracy rate of 84%, proving its effectiveness in sentiment-based policy evaluation. These findings are expected to help village officials improve service quality by increasing transparency and public trust.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of nutritional deficiencies on maternal health in rural India, focusing on the prevalence of anemia among pregnant women and its associated health complications. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research combines quantitative data from a cross-sectional survey with qualitative insights from in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. The findings reveal that 60% of pregnant women in rural areas suffer from anemia, with significant regional disparities, particularly in states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. The study highlights the socio-economic and cultural barriers that hinder access to adequate nutrition and healthcare, including financial constraints, lack of education, and limited healthcare infrastructure. Despite various government programs, the effectiveness of nutritional supplementation remains limited due to poor adherence rates, largely influenced by side effects and access issues. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for targeted interventions, including improved healthcare delivery, better nutrition education, and region-specific policies to reduce maternal malnutrition. These findings are crucial for improving maternal and fetal health outcomes in India and can serve as a model for other low-income countries facing similar challenges.

Abstract

The Mobile Legends game is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game designed specifically for mobile phones, though it can also be played on PCs. The game features various roles that players must fill, each with distinct tasks and responsibilities. Not all Mobile Legends players are familiar with these roles, which include core/jungler, roaming, gold lane, mid lane, and exp lane. Choosing heroes in the Epic tier often makes it difficult for players to advance in rank. This tier is considered notoriously challenging by Mobile Legends players because at the season reset, rankings drop from Epic II, Legend, Mythic, and Mythical Glory to Epic V or Epic II. Given these challenges, the author has titled their work "Decision Support System for Selection of Mobile Legends Heroes in Epic Tier Using the AHP Method". This system uses the hybrid AHP-TOPSIS method and is developed using the waterfall model, including tools like Flowcharts, Context Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams level 1, Entity Relationship Diagrams, Table Relations, Table Specifications, and uses the Visual Code application with MySQL as the database. The aim is to provide a practical solution through a computer-based decision support system. This system is intended to assist players in selecting the most suitable Mobile Legends heroes for the Epic Tier, based on specific criteria and roles.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of air pollution on respiratory health in urban areas of Santiago, Chile, focusing on the correlation between exposure to particulate matter (PM2.5, PM10), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and ozone (O3) and the prevalence of respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other symptoms. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through structured surveys, air quality monitoring, and qualitative interviews with residents from both high- and low-pollution areas of Santiago. The results revealed a significantly higher prevalence of respiratory conditions in high-pollution areas, with asthma being reported by 45% of residents compared to 25% in low-pollution areas. The incidence of COPD was also higher in areas with more pollution, with 18% of residents suffering from the condition compared to 9% in less polluted areas. The air quality data showed that PM2.5 levels in high-pollution areas exceeded recommended limits, correlating with the reported health issues. Interviews further highlighted the discomfort and anxiety associated with air pollution exposure, with many participants reporting increased reliance on medication. Socioeconomic factors also played a significant role in health outcomes, as individuals in lower-income areas had limited access to protective measures such as air purifiers and medical treatments. The findings emphasize the need for stronger public health interventions and urban planning efforts aimed at reducing air pollution and mitigating its adverse effects on respiratory health, especially among vulnerable populations. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers working to address air quality and health disparities in rapidly urbanizing cities.

Abstract

Flashcards are small cards that contain pictures or photos and some text below them. Augmented Reality is a technology that overlays graphics from the real world and the virtual world so that it can be viewed realistically and interactively. The development of mobile or Android-based information technology makes it easier to learn shape recognition material and object recognition material, especially for kindergarten children, starting from introducing examples of objects with different shapes around them according to their shape. They will serve as a foundation before moving on to the next level. The problem in this research is that the flashcard media is limited to certain material which is made manually, and not all teachers use information technology as a learning medium, thereby limiting the availability of certain material. The aim of this research is to develop an Augmented Reality-based flashcard learning application using Android devices for kindergarten children. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews and literature study. Based on the problems above, a solution is needed in the form of an application to support learning activities using Android Augmented Reality that recognizes shapes and objects through direct visualization of 3D objects. The end result is an AR flashcard application for shapes and objects.
