Abstract

Coastal areas are one of the areas that currently have many problems, such as environmental problems and community welfare. One of the areas that has problems with these issues is Gisik Cemandi, Sedati, and Sidoarjo. One of the problems in the coastal area is the pile of shells that make the residential environment look dirty, dirty, smelly, and even become a nest for dangerous animals. The purpose of this research is to map the benefits that can be taken from shell waste so that the community can take opportunities of economic value, both as industrial activities, helping to reduce waste, and empowering coastal communities. This research uses a qualitative method with the Snowball Sampling Technique. Based on the results of the study, shell waste can be reduced to several products, namely fertilizer materials, chemical mixtures (calcium carbonate and metal adsorbents), handicrafts, animal feed mixtures, chitin-chitosan, and building material mixtures. Each of these products has its own benefits and selling value. However, this research only focuses on innovation in mapping waste products. This can be a potential opportunity for local communities to provide value to waste and improve welfare.

Abstract

As a rapidly growing sector, the aviation market is highly open to development. Maintenance, particularly for major components like engines, is crucial and must comply with regulations. Establishing an Engine MRO facility shows a promising opportunity in the aviation sector. With over 640 commercial aircraft operating daily in Indonesia, the demand for engine maintenance and overhaul is increasing. However, limited local MRO capacity and capability force airlines or aircraft owners to outsource maintenance to foreign facilities, leading to higher costs, time, and logistical complexity. This study employs the I/O Model to analyze the feasibility of establishing a new local Engine MRO facility in Indonesia. The research utilizes industry, general environment, and competitor analyses, supported by market segmentation, to identify opportunities opening new engine MRO in Indonesia, resulting in a niche, growing market for the LEAP engine series capabilities. However, the study is highlighting the high initial investment required. Internal capabilities include skilled personnel, specialized tools, facilities, and strategic partnerships with suppliers or authorities. The implementation plan outlines five phases, from preliminary setup to long-term sustained growth. The study concludes that establishing a new Engine MRO in Indonesia can address demand gaps, reduce reliance on foreign facilities, and strengthen Indonesia's aviation industry. Recommendations focus on non-financial investments, including human resource development, lean operations, and adopting advanced technology.

Amazon, as one of the largest e-commerce platforms, continues to innovate to maintain its competitive advantage, offering a variety of products and services. This research uses the K-Means Clustering method to identify Amazon's customer segmentation and devise more effective marketing strategies. The analysis results show three main clusters: Price-Sensitive Browsers, Review-Driven Shoppers, and Quality Seekers. Cluster 2, which accounts for 47.49% of the total sample, is the most potential. Consumers in this cluster shop weekly, want better prices, pay attention to product reviews, and care about eco-friendly packaging. The right target segment for Amazon is women aged 24-26 who regularly shop weekly and care about environmental sustainability. By understanding consumer needs and preferences, Amazon can develop more effective marketing strategies, increase customer satisfaction and loyalty, and maintain its competitive advantage.
