Abstract

This research is motivated by the need for effective da'wah communication strategies among converts living in remote areas, particularly in Pulau Damar Village, Banjang District, Hulu Sungai Utara Regency. The geographical conditions, limited access to technology, and the diverse social backgrounds of converts demand da'wah methods that are not only informative but also culturally adaptive. The focus of this research is the da'wah communication strategies implemented by preachers in conveying Islamic teachings to converts in the village. The purpose of this research is to describe the communication approach, the preparation and delivery of da'wah messages, the media used, and the forms of evaluation and follow-up of religious guidance for converts. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that the da'wah communication strategies used are interpersonal, family-based, messages are developed gradually taking into account local language and context, communication media are still dominated by face-to-face and simple media, and the evaluation process is carried out informally through ongoing social interactions. This strategy has proven effective in strengthening the understanding and faith of converts and encouraging the continuation of their Islamic guidance in a socially and spiritually supportive environment.

Abstract

Fiqh learning in Islamic schools is often dominated by lectures, which leaves students passive and less actively involved in the learning process. However, fiqh material requires in-depth understanding and critical and analytical thinking skills. This study focuses on the application of discussion and case study methods in fiqh learning at MAN 1 Balangan, with the aim of determining how these methods influence students' activeness in expressing opinions, their ability to listen and respond to peers' arguments, and their involvement in collaborative problem-solving. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews with fiqh teachers and students, and documentation during the learning process. The results showed that discussion and case study methods were able to increase active student participation, foster courage in expressing opinions, and develop the ability to listen critically and respond to arguments constructively. In addition, students demonstrated high engagement in group work to solve fiqh problems, reflecting the development of collaborative skills and understanding of Islamic law. Although there were still obstacles such as unequal student participation and time constraints, the application of these methods was generally proven effective and relevant to the principle of deliberation in Islam and the demands of 21st-century learning. Therefore, it is recommended that discussion and case study methods be further developed in Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) learning in madrasas.

Abstract

Islamic Cultural History (ISCH) teaching in Islamic schools plays a crucial role in instilling Islamic values and introducing students to the history of Islamic civilization. However, the challenges of delivering historical material, often perceived as monotonous, encourage teachers to employ more varied and meaningful learning strategies. This study focuses on teachers' strategies in teaching ISCH at MAN 2 Tabalong. The purpose of this study is to describe the learning strategies used by teachers and their impact on student engagement and understanding. This study employed a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of ISCH teachers and classroom learning activities. Data analysis was conducted inductively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that teachers implemented various strategies such as interactive lectures, group discussions, and project-based learning. Teachers also linked the material to the local cultural context to enhance student relevance and interest. Despite constraints such as limited media and differences in student abilities, teachers demonstrated innovation through the use of simple media and task differentiation strategies. These strategies have been shown to increase student engagement and understanding of historical and Islamic values. These findings indicate that varied and contextual learning strategies are highly effective in teaching Islamic Studies (IS) at the madrasah level.
