Abstract

Arabic language education in pesantren plays an important role in equipping students with strong language skills, especially in understanding religious texts. At Pondok Pesantren Al-Falah Puteri Banjarbaru, Arabic language learning still faces challenges in understanding grammar (Qowa’id) and the ability to translate texts. Therefore, effective methods are needed to improve the quality of Arabic language teaching at this pesantren. This research focuses on the application of the Qowaid an Translation method in Arabic language learning at Al- Falah Puteri Islamic Boarding School Banjarbaru. The main issues discussed are how the Qowaid and Translation method is implemented in Arabic language learning at the boarding school and the learning outcomes achieved by the students after the method is applied. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data was collected through observation, interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis of the teaching materials used. Data analysis was performed through data reduction, presentation of data, and drawing conclusions. Research Results: The results of the study indicate that the application of the Qowa’id and Translation methods at Pondok Pesantren Al-Falah Puteri has proven effective in improving students' ability to understand Arabic grammar and translate texts. Overall, the implementation of these methods has had a positive impact on the students' mastery of the Arabic language. However, additional support methods are needed to ensure that students not only become proficient in Arabic grammar and translation but also become skilled in speaking Arabic fluently.

Abstract

Education in early childhood is a crucial phase in life which is often referred to as the golden age. During this period, children experience accelerated development in various aspects, such as physical, motor, intellectual, social-emotional, as well as language and communication skills. In addition, spiritual intelligence has an important role in shaping children's character and moral values from an early age, guiding them to become ethical and religious individuals. The integration between IQ and EQ will run more optimally if it is supported by spiritual intelligence. The cultivation of spiritual values cannot be separated from the role of the curriculum as the main component in the educational process. This research aims to find out how curriculum management develops children's spiritual intelligence. This research was conducted using field research methods with a qualitative approach. The findings show that effective curriculum management allows the learning process to run comprehensively, planned, and in accordance with the stages of child development, thereby encouraging balanced growth between intellectual, emotional, and spiritual intelligence. A curriculum that is integrated with religious and moral values can help children live and apply spiritual values in their daily lives.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of productive zakat utilisation on improving the welfare of mustahik in BAZNAS Kotawaringin Barat Regency, Central Kalimantan, with a focus on the role of business development as an intermediary variable. The phenomenon underlying this study is the still low level of welfare among zakat recipients in the region, as well as the suboptimal implementation of productive zakat programmes by BAZNAS in driving sustainable welfare improvement. This study employs a quantitative approach with path analysis to test the causal relationship between productive zakat, business development, and the welfare of zakat recipients. The research sample consisted of 35 mustahik recipients of productive zakat for the period 2019-2023, selected using saturated sampling techniques. The results showed that productive zakat had a significant positive effect on the welfare of mustahik and business development. However, business development did not significantly mediate the relationship between productive zakat and the welfare of mustahik. Determination analysis (R-Square) shows that productive zakat utilization explains 32.7% of the variation in mustahik welfare and 35.4% of business development. These findings indicate that other factors beyond business development, such as access to education, health, and the environment, play a more dominant role in determining the level of mustahik welfare.

Abstract

The study of medieval Qur’anic exegesis needs to be developed comprehensively, especially regarding the dialectical relationships between various tafsir (exegesis) works. In this context, the researcher attempts to uncover the dialectical relationship between Tafsir al-Kashf wa al-Bayān by al-Tha‘labī and Tafsir Majma‘ al-Bayān by al-Ṭabarsī, particularly concerning proto-Shi‘i narratives and their implications for Tafsir al-Kashf wa al-Bayān. This research is descriptive qualitative in nature and is conducted through library research by collecting various literature related to the research object. The findings indicate that there are proto-Shi‘i narratives from Tafsir al-Kashf wa al-Bayān that appear in Tafsir Majma‘ al-Bayān. In this regard, al-Ṭabarsī explicitly refers to al-Tha‘labī, especially in the interpretation of Surah al-Aḥzāb (33:33) and Surah al-Mā’idah (5:67), in the context of affirming the infallibility (‘iṣmah) of Ahl al-Bayt. The effect of these quotations has been that Tafsir al-Kashf wa al-Bayān is often claimed to be a less credible tafsir even up to the present day. This research also asserts that the first Shi‘i scholar to use Tafsir al-Kashf wa al-Bayān as a reference source was al-Ṭabarsī, not Ibn Bitrīq as claimed by Walid Saleh.

Abstract

The transformation of digital technology has changed the face of religion especially in the methods of delivering Islamic preaching, The phenomenon of dakwahtainment (preaching) which is preaching packaged in an entertainment format has become a popular trend in the digital era. This study analyzes the impact of dakwahtainment on the religious understanding of digital society using Jean Baudrillard’s theory of simulacra and hyperreality. A qualitative approach with content analysis method is applied to examine the preaching style of three popular figures Das’ad Latif Aa Gym and Oki Setiana Dewi. The data are collected from preaching content on social media platforms such as YouTube TikTok and Instagram. The results reveal that dakwahtainment emphasizes artificial religious notion. Representation of religion in digital space is more symbolic and emotional. Meanwhile, religious messages that are more reflective and have a deeper meaning tend to be ignored. The content of preaching is merely a spectacle and entertainment. In this context, religion has been reduced to a mere commodity. Therefore, it is necessary to rethink a new approach to preaching that is not only communicative and visually attractive but is also able to present a deeper and more reflective religious understanding and remains relevant to religious society in the digital era.

Abstract

Islamic studies as a scientific discipline continues to experience methodological developments in line with the increasing complexity of religious and social issues in the contemporary era. The study of Islam is no longer sufficient through a single approach, but requires the integration of normative, historical, and philosophical perspectives to fully understand Islam, both as a normative teaching and as a social and intellectual reality. This article aims to analyze the concepts, characteristics, and relevance of integrating these three approaches in developing a modern Islamic studies methodology. This research uses library research with a qualitative approach and content analysis of various classical and contemporary literature relevant to Islamic research methodology. The results of the study indicate that the normative approach serves to maintain the purity of Islamic teaching sources and moral direction; the historical approach enriches the social context and evolution of Islamic thought; while the philosophical approach deepens epistemological, ontological, and axiological reflection. The integration of these three produces a methodological framework that is scientific, contextual, and responsive to contemporary issues such as digital fiqh, religious moderation, and modern Islamic education. This article contributes to strengthening an integrative methodological paradigm relevant to the development of Islamic studies curricula, educational practices, and interdisciplinary research in the modern era.

Abstract

Student interest in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at the elementary school level tends to decline, especially when the learning process is delivered monotonously and lacks context. At MI Ummul Quro, it was found that some students showed a lack of interest in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) lessons, despite the teacher's limited use of storytelling methods. The focus of this study is the use of storytelling methods to increase students' interest in learning PAI at MI Ummul Quro. This study aims to describe the use of storytelling methods in increasing interest in learning PAI in students at MI Ummul Quro, including aspects such as interest, participation, understanding, internal motivation, and the ability to apply religious values in everyday life. The method used was descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis utilized the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results showed that the use of Islamic storytelling methods delivered in an engaging and interactive manner significantly increased students' interest in learning. Students became more enthusiastic, more active in learning activities, better understood the material, and demonstrated increased internal motivation and religious behavior.

Abstract

MTsS Sirajul Huda Marindi has a madrasah policy in shaping student character through activities oriented towards religious activities and other activities intended to shape student character. This study aims to determine the madrasah policy in shaping student character along with the supporting and inhibiting factors faced. This type of research is field research using qualitative descriptive methods. The subjects of this study were the Principal of MTsS Sirajul Huda Marindi, the Deputy Head of Student Affairs and the Teachers Council. Data collection techniques in this study were obtained from the results of observations, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques used range from data reduction, data display and data verification. The results of this study are that at the agenda preparation stage, a policy is issued by creating a program of activities related to improving student character and discussed in meetings. Then at the policy formulation stage, the program is discussed by policy makers. Furthermore, at the policy adoption stage, the policy program is approved with mutual support and agreement. It is implemented by instilling daily habits for students in the madrasah environment that are oriented towards religious activities and other activities. Finally, at the policy evaluation stage, evaluation meetings are regularly held. A supporting factor is the strong cooperation between teachers and educational staff at every stage of madrasah policy implementation. Meanwhile, a hindering factor is the problem faced by some students due to broken homes and the lack of parental supervision and guidance at home.

Abstract

The development of information technology has driven changes in the learning system, including at the secondary school level. The use of learning applications has become a primary alternative to support the online learning process, particularly to accommodate the needs for access to materials, communication, and evaluation. This study focused on the use of learning applications by students at Kuala Kapuas 3 High School during online learning activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of applications used, the frequency and duration of their use, how students utilize them, the obstacles encountered, and the strategies they use to overcome these obstacles. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The subjects were 11th and 12th grade students, while the objects were students' activities in using learning applications. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation, followed by analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that students actively use various applications such as Google Classroom, WhatsApp, and Zoom. Application use provides benefits in terms of learning flexibility, increased independence, and effective communication. Obstacles encountered included network disruptions, limited devices, and learning boredom. Students developed various strategies such as sharing devices, finding locations with stable signal, and forming online study groups.

Abstract

Academic anxiety is one of the psychological problems commonly experienced by madrasah students and has a significant impact on their academic performance and mental well-being. At MAN 1 Tabalong, this phenomenon is evident through symptoms such as excessive fear of exams, lack of self-confidence, and emotional pressure during learning activities. This study focuses on the implementation of Islamic Guidance and Counseling services in helping students cope with academic anxiety. The objective of this research is to describe the forms of Islamic counseling applied, analyze the counselor’s strategies in addressing academic anxiety, and examine the effectiveness of spiritual approaches in the counseling process. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving guidance counselors, students, and homeroom teachers. The findings reveal that Islamic counseling services at MAN 1 Tabalong are integrated with Islamic values such as patience (sabr), reliance on God (tawakkal), remembrance (dzikr), and the recitation of Qur’anic verses as a form of spiritual therapy. The counseling strategies include individual and group approaches that emphasize self-concept strengthening and inner calmness. The study concludes that Islamic guidance and counseling services are effective in helping students manage academic anxiety while also shaping religious character that enables them to face academic pressures in a healthier and more productive manner.
