Abstract

Globalization provides open competition to every business actor, to become a superior and valuable company one of the ways that can be taken by the company through disclosure of the corporate social reports (CSR). This paper wants to explore how far the characteristics of the company influence the extent of CSR disclosure. The method in this study uses the empirical study hypothesis testing approach by sampling all companies indexed L-Q45 on the Indonesia stock exchange. The reason selection of this index is the leading index in Indonesia with tightly defined criteria by regulators, including levels of liquidity, market capitalization, and growth prospects of the company. The results of the data analysis that has been done obtained results Profitability and total assets influence the broad disclosure of CSR, this also supports stakeholder theory and legitimacy theory, on the contrary, leverage does not affect the broad disclosure of CSR. That caused by the management of the company seeing high leverage tends to reduce the disclosure of social responsibility so as not to be in the spotlight of the debtholders

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of aggressive working capital factors/policies on firms’ performance to improve the financial health. Random and Fixed Effect models estimated by taking annual data of two major sectors: automobile and food sectors from 2006 to 2016. According to the findings, aggressive investment factor/policy (AIF) has a negative impact on gross operating income (GOI) in both sectors while aggressive financing factor/policy (AFF) has an adverse effect on GOI in the food sector and positive impact on GOI in the automobile sector. The results of this study should be of great importance to investors, creditors, and financial analysts, especially after the global financial crisis and the collapses of giant organizations worldwide.DOI: 10.15408/ess.v8i1.7075

Abstract

The Profitability Improvement at Go-Public Islamic Banks in IndonesiaThe aim at the study to examine and analyze the impact growth of profitability through its capital adequacy ratio, operating expense to operating income, loan to deposit ratio and  non perfoming loan in the banking industry go public in indonesia. The results show that operating expense to operating income and loan to deposit ratio have significantly effect to return on asset while the capital adequacy ratio,and non perfoming loan not significantly effect to return on asset. Capital adequacy ratio, operating expense to operating income, loan to deposit ratio and non perfoming loan not significantly effect to return on equity. While for variable stock returns are significantly influenced only by the capital adequacy ratio, operating expense to operating income, loan to deposit ratio, return on asset and  return on equity while non perfoming loan not significantly effect to stock returnsDOI: 10.15408/ess.v6i1.3117

Abstract

This study tries to analyze the effect of succession planning, transformational leadership, training satisfaction on employee turnover intention in the public sector of the Central Jakarta Ministry of Religion. Responding to this study, an experiment of 120 respondents from the Central Jakarta Ministry of Religion staffing company. The sampling method uses purposive sampling and uses descriptive statistical data analysis methods (average) and multiple regression analysis. In this research, succession planning, transformational leadership, and training satisfaction, were obtained negatively towards company turnover intention in the public sector, especially succession planning. From the results of this study, it was agreed by the leadership of the company to pay more attention to succession planning or management of employee talents, allow and add training and coaching for future leaders to be more transformational to provide beneficial investments in terms of employee career development.

Abstract

The Way for Maintaining Customer Loyality and Using of E-Commece in Developing Company Such as Small And Medium Enterproses. This paper aims to analyze the way of maintaining customer loyalty of company in developing their business. One of the way is providing of customer loyalty program with the reward point given to their customer. Beside that, this study analyze also the usefulness of e-commerce in developing Small and Medium Enterprises. Definitely ,the use of e-commerce able to drive business of small and Medium Enterprises quickly and promptly. Involving e-commerce in developing small and medium enterprises (SMEs)is very crucial and important. There are some potential benefits derived from the strategic use of e-commerce provide: i) Enhanced customer services, ii) Reduced transaction costs, iii) Increased business efficiencies, iv) Improved operational flexibility, v). Obtaining competitive advantages and vi). Improved product and service delivery. . This study use Descriptive Qualitative Analysis Method based on the observation of the current situation of e-commerce usefulness in developing company such as small and medium enterprises and the way of maintaining customer loyalty in business development This study shows that both low customer awareness about point-based reward programs and, not surprisingly, low redemption rates. More specifically, lack of awareness about the reward points programs and the redemption procedure was shown. The important conditions positively affecting redemption of reward points were found to include awareness of the reward point program, a positive attitude about the incentives, and average frequency of credit card usage. Also, redemption rates were higher for cards that had been issued more recently. This study find also that e-commerce has big part role in developing Small and Medium Enterprises. In this, e-commerce can develop promotion and selling volume of Small and Medium Enterprises by the smart electronic mechanism.DOI: 10.15408/ess.v5i1.2331

Abstract

Analysis of Online Ride Sharing Business Industry in IndonesiaInnovation in transportation sector with sharing economy principal has create new service sector which is named online ride sharing service. There are a lot of online ride-sharing service players in Indonesia such as Go-Jek, Grab, and Uber. Nowadays, government also have rules on changing the condition of online ride-sharing. Therefore, industry analysis is needed to be analyze further to know the industry attractiveness of the online-ride sharing service. This study aims to analyze the level of attractiveness in online ride-sharing industry in Indonesia. This study used descriptive-explorative method on identifying Porter’s Five Forces as tools in industry analysis. Data collection is using ghost interview method to the selected driver. The conclusion is online-ride sharing industry in Indonesia is quite attractive to be developed in the future because the number of customers has not reached the maximum point, moreover the industry may offer a very diverse product differentiationDOI: 10.15408/ess.v8i1.5739

Abstract

Internet services that were introduced in 1993 have an impact on behavior change and the ways of consumer decisions making. On the other hand, the emergence of various developments in information technology, connectivity and smartphones are also slowly able to change the way of consumers for meet the needs of a product or service. This research was conducted for intention to examine the effect of e-service quality on e-satisfaction and implications on B2C consumer repurchase online. Data was taken using an online questionnaire and distributed to B2C consumers with the last amount of data collected as many as 312 questionnaires and then be analyzed using the partial least square method. The results of the analysis show that e-service quality provides a significant positive effect on e-satisfaction and online repurchase for B2C consumers. In other results show e-satisfaction has a significant effect on online repurchase and is able to be a partial mediator of the relationship of e-service quality with online repurchase of B2C consumers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics, behaviors and motivations of tourists from North Sulawesi trip to Jakarta. The research methodology used is descriptive qualitative method. The data used is primary data and secondary data collection method through survey questionnaires, interviews, and focus group discussion.  Data analysis used SPSS statistical analysis includes frequency and cross-tab analysis, and SWOT analysis. The results of this study of which are domestic tourists from North Sulawesi classified as "Upper Market" and prestigious tourist fond of, and impressed consumptive, hedonist, shopping, parties and meals. Travelers from North Sulawesi like to go to some of the famous tourist destinations. Travelers from North Sulawesi more confident when to travel alone in the country. The main obstacle is the lack of information about Jakarta especially for the people of North Sulawesi, unavailability of brochures about Jakarta in service, not available tourist maps. Information about the attractions that can be visited very minimal and should be provided free of charge such as tourist information facilities at the airport, in the center of the crowd, tourist destination, and so on. Packaging destination must be continuously improved; Jakarta is highly prestigious for the people of North Sulawesi.DOI: 10.15408/ess.v4i3.2432

Abstract

Aim for this research are to analyze capacity cost which incure from company production machines and human resources whose operate the production machine using CAM-I capacity model. CAM-I capacity model is an approach which focus  upon how to manage company resources. This research initiated at PT X which focus to production activity that used small mixer machine, extruder machine, oven drying machine, enrober machine, pan coting machine which consist of hot and cold pan coating machine, and packing machine which consist of vertical packing machine and horizontal packing machine as well as human resources that operates those machine. This research focus on rate capacity, productive capacity, idle capacity, and nonproductive capacity to measure capacity cost. Result of this research shows most of the capacity owned by either by production machine or human resources are not utilized to its maximum potential. There are need to reduce capacity cost owned by production machine and human resoures to increase the product sales but if its unachieveable there will be need to increase efficiency from production machine and human resources by reducing their quantityDOI: 10.15408/ess.v4i1.1961
