Abstract

This research aims to find out how technology in the form of gojek can be well received by colleges in Palembang. The framework has been developed based on the TAM and TRA with quantitative research methods in the form of SEM Amos 21. The results of the research are usefulness and ease of use have a positive and significant effect on behavioral intention of use, usefulness, ease of use and behavioral intention of use have a positive and significant effect on actual system use, the last usefulness and ease of use have a positive and significant effect on actual system use through behavioral intention of use. Based on these results it can be concluded that the subject has been well received by Palembang colleges through TAM and TRA as the grand theory.

Abstract

Financing Determinants in The Indonesian Islamic Rural BankIslamic Rural Bank serves as a financial intermediary to carry out the activities of collecting and distributing funds from the public. Therefore, it is necessary to test whether internal factors, which include deposit funds, capital adequacy ratio, financing to deposit ratio and non-performing financing significantly affects to financing. The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that affect the financing in Islamic rural bank in Indonesia. The analytical tool used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study, to simultaneously show that the Third Party Funds, Capital Adequacy Ratio, Financing to Deposit Non-Performing Financing significantly affects to Distribution of Funding in SRB (BPRS), while the rest is explained by other factors not enrolled in this study.DOI:  10.15408/ess.v7i1.4542

Abstract

Determinants That Affect Regional Goverment's Financial Statement DisclosureThis research aims to analysis of factors affecting of financial statement disclosure. The population this study are financial statement of local government all of Indonesia. A total of 314 financial statement of Local Government financial statement 2014 mean of disclosure level is 64%. This result of this study shows that wealth of local government and human development has positive effect on the local government financial statement disclosure, while asset of local government has negative effect. The functional differentiation, debt financing, and intergovernmental revenue are proved to have no effect on the local, government financial statement disclosureDOI: 10.15408/ess.v6i1.3120

Abstract

With increasing production cost and growing local and international competition, accountants within Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are largely encumbered with the onus of cost control. Through this paper, we empirically examine use and perceived importance of cost management accounting practices within Pakistani manufacturing SMEs. The cross-sectional study is conducted under descriptive research design. Findings from survey questionnaire of 44 manufacturing SMEs indicate that process costing method is widely used and complexity in production process is main difficulty faced by SMEs in product costing. Descriptive analysis indicates that SMEs mainly use product costing information to make pricing decisions of products, profitability calculation and in decision making for new products. SMEs prefer to employ conventional tools like planning and control, budgeting and strategic planning for decision making purposes. Limited sample size under descriptive analysis restricts applicability and generalizability. Our study makes novel contribution in the domain of cost management practices in SMEs since majority of literature is available on cost management practices adopted by only large corporates within Pakistan.

Abstract

Conventional social responsibility disclosure is measured by an index of global reporting initiative is limited to the material aspects of the course, while the Islamic social responsibility disclosure is not limited to the material aspect alone, but on the spiritual and moral aspects of the social reporting by Islamic index. Limitations of conventional social responsibility disclosure push this study to determine the factors that influence disclosure of social reporting on Islamic sharia banks in Indonesia.The study involved Islamic banks in Indonesia in 2010-2012. The research method used is content analysis are derived from annual reports or corporate websites Indonesian stock exchange in 2010-2012. Statistical program used was Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS 20.0 by using multiple linear regression analysis.The variables used in this study are firm size as measured by total assets, profitability as measured by return on assets, leverage as measured by debt to equity ratio and Islamic governance score as measured by the number, cross membership, educational background, and the reputation of the council supervisor sharia as the independent variable, and Islamic social reporting as the dependent variable. The results pointing to a company that size has a significant influence on the disclosure of Islamic social reporting, while the rest has no effect.DOI: 10.15408/ess.v5i1.2334

Abstract

The Influence of Advertising on The Buying Interest of Youtube Users with Brand Recognition as Intervening VariableInternet media can be used to do marketing, one of which is Youtube. This study aims to explain the effect of advertising on buying interest on Youtube users using brand recognition as an intervening variable. The sample in this study amounted 180 students of  Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana who saw Nike product advertising on Youtube. The analysis technique used is path analysis. The result of the research shows that advertising have a significant positive effect to brand recognition, brand recognition have significant positive effect to buying interest, and brand recognition can not function as intervening variable in relationship between advertising and buying interest.DOI: 10.15408/ess.v8i1.5885

Abstract

Companies that are able to communicate their marketing will have an impact on brand equity improvement. This study aims to examine the influence of Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) which consists of advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, public relations and publicity, direct marketing, instructional materials and corporate design to the brand equity of Gojek Yogyakarta. The sample of this study amounted 150 respondents who are Go-Ride customers who already know IMC Gojek. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The results showed that IMC influence brand equity, and partially variable of advertising, sales promotion, and corporate design having significant positive effect to brand equity. Based on the results of this study, Gojek Yogyakarta needs to increase the promotion of ideas to change attitudes and consumer behavior, increase the value of the product so as to achieve certain marketing goals, and strengthen the picture of service outlet or corporate identity for the message received by consumers through effective marketing communication channel mix.

Poverty reduction remains the most important challenge for every countries. Zakah, as an Islamic faith-based institution, is a strategic tool for combating poverty.  This study aims to identify the role of zakah and compare its principles with an overview of the characteristics and practices within binary economics which also provides a systemic solution for poverty. Abstract

The Achievers Life Style and Decision to Use Credit CardThis study discusses the effect of achievers lifestyle on the decision to use credit card to customers of credit card customers of Bank Mandiri branch Pematangsiantar. The goal is to determine the effect of achievers' lifestyle with the decision to use credit cards to customers of Bank Mandiri credit card users. The number of respondents determined as many as 100 respondents. Sampling procedure is done by purposive sampling that is sampling technique based on credit card user who live in Pematangsiantar city. Mutiple linier regressions are used as technique of analysis. The results showed that the achievers lifestyle variables have a significant influence on the decision to use credit cards. From result of regression analysis known that activity and opinion variable have influence stronger than interest to decision using credit card.DOI: 10.15408/ess.v7i2.4987
