Abstract

Physics plays a major role in the world of health, including nursing. Various processes in nursing apply and consider the principles of physics to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of nursing actions, the validity of measurement results and patient safety. Knowledge of physics is also used to help understand the conditions and situations faced. The use of physics in the world of health affects two important aspects, namely physiology, pathophysiology and therapy. Physiological physics can explain the function of the human body and related conditions, both in healthy and sick conditions. In terms of therapy, knowledge of physics is used in many aids used for diagnosis, healing and rehabilitation of patients. The material to be discussed below includes biomechanics, biooptics, bioacoustics and thermodynamics. These topics are some of the other topics that will be related and encountered in the nursing care process.

Abstract

Toxoplasmosis is caused by the protozoa Toxoplasma gondii. It often occurs in newborns, who are infected in the womb. Toxoplasmosis in pregnant women will experience abortion, intrauterine fetal death, if the baby survives due to active infection can occur by serious central nervous system defects and can cause mental retardation. Toxoplasmosis in pregnancy causes transmission of toxoplasma gondii through the uteroplacental circulation to the fetus. Laboratory tests performed are anti-toxoplasma IgG and IgM, and anti-Toxoplasma IgG avidity. These tests need to be performed on mothers suspected of being infected with Toxoplasma gondii before or during pregnancy, as well as on newborns from mothers infected with toxoplasma gondii. Spiramycin is given to women suspected of having acute toxoplasma infection in the first trimester or early second trimester, and will be given until delivery. For pregnant women who are likely to have a high infection or have had an infection in the fetus, treatment with spiramycin should be assisted after 18 weeks of pregnancy with pyrimethamine, sulfadiazine, and folic acid. Therefore, pregnant women should be prevented from toxoplasma infection or given treatment as early as possible.

Abstract

Asthma is a respiratory disease affecting 339 million people worldwide, which can be treated through various methods, including eucalyptus oil vapor, a non-pharmacological therapy. A literature review examining the effectiveness of eucalyptus oil vapor in reducing breathlessness among asthma patients, conducted using PubMed and Google Scholar databases, analyzed six articles from a pool of 280. Research findings revealed that eucalyptol (cineole) content possesses mucolytic and bronchodilatory properties, and vapor benefits include expanding respiratory passages, thereby facilitating breathing. Consequently, eucalyptus oil vapor emerges as an efficient self-management method for asthma patients, presenting no known side effects
