Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of utilizing the environment as a learning medium to enhance the learning outcomes of Science (IPA) among fifth-grade students at SDN 3 Rumbuk in the academic year 2022/2023. The research was conducted in two action research cycles to observe the changes that occurred alongside the implementation of environmental utilization as a learning medium. The participants in this research were 21 fifth-grade students at SDN 3 Rumbuk. This classroom action research was conducted with several stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Each action cycle consisted of these stages, designed to plan and implement learning activities by utilizing the surrounding environment as a medium for IPA learning. The data collected in this research included test results, classroom observations, field notes, and teacher reflections. Tests were used to measure students' learning outcomes in understanding IPA concepts taught through the utilization of the environment as a learning medium. Classroom observations and field notes were used to observe student-teacher interactions and the effectiveness of using the environment as a learning medium. Teacher reflections were used to evaluate the success of each action cycle and determine the changes or adjustments that needed to be made. The results of the research indicate that the utilization of the environment as a learning medium has a positive impact on students' IPA learning outcomes. There was a significant improvement in students' understanding of IPA concepts from one action cycle to the next. Students also demonstrated more active engagement and enthusiasm in the learning process when the surrounding environment was used as a learning medium

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of implementing the contextual approach in mathematics learning to enhance students' problem-solving abilities. The research method used is an experimental study. The research sample consists of two classes, with VIIB as the experimental group and VIIA as the control group at SMN 2 Sakra. The experimental group undergoes mathematics learning with the contextual approach, while the control group follows a conventional approach. Data on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities are collected through pre- and post-implementation mathematics problem-solving tests within the contextual approach. The assessment instrument comprises mathematical problem-solving questions that require students to apply concepts in contextual situations. The collected data are analyzed using a t-test to compare the differences in students' problem-solving abilities between the experimental and control groups. The analysis results indicate that the group of students who underwent mathematics learning with the contextual approach achieved a significant improvement in problem-solving abilities compared to the control group that used a conventional approach. These results demonstrate that the contextual approach can facilitate the understanding of mathematical concepts and encourage students to apply problem-solving in real-world contexts. This research concludes that the implementation of the contextual approach in mathematics learning can enhance students' mathematical problem-solving abilities

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the implementation of the Numbered Head Together cooperative learning model to enhance students' mathematics learning outcomes on the topic of linear equations at SMPN 2 Sakra. The research is conducted in the form of a classroom action research involving students from class VIIB as the research subjects. In this study, the cooperative approach of Numbered Head Together is used as a teaching strategy to improve students' participation, collaboration among them, and understanding of the concept of linear equations. The research is carried out in two cycles, comprising planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data is collected through students' learning outcome tests and classroom observations. The research findings indicate a significant improvement in students' mathematics learning outcomes after the application of the Numbered Head Together cooperative learning model. The average scores of students in the learning outcome tests increased significantly from cycle one to cycle two. Furthermore, there was also an observed improvement in students' active participation during the learning process, their interactions within groups, as well as their comprehension of the concept of linear equations. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Numbered Head Together cooperative learning model can enhance students' mathematics learning outcomes on the topic of linear equations at SMPN 2 Sakra

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) integrated into various media has the potential to create intelligent robots that can facilitate learning, although its use requires adaptation and specific skills. AI does not replace the role of human learning but can streamline access to information, enhance knowledge, and improve the efficiency of learning. The trend of using AI in education has the potential to advance learning technology, which can impact learning outcomes, effectiveness, and innovative capabilities. However, the use of AI also affects social phenomena in education and inevitable social changes, influencing not only human behavior but also the overall social system. This study aims to uncover the phenomenon of AI in the era of digital disruption and the trends in AI usage in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning on campuses using a phenomenological approach based on existing literature

Abstract

The aim of this research was to examine the creative thinking skills in mathematics of grade IV students at SDN 192 Pekanbaru, especially in the context of Geometry and multiplication operations. Mathematics is known as a universal language that has significant relevance in various aspects of life. In the context of mathematics, creative thinking skills are the key to approaching problems using innovative methods and creating alternative solutions. In mathematics, understanding and developing creative thinking skills is considered valuable in improving students' understanding of Geometry and multiplication operations. This study uses quantitative research methods and measures students' creative mathematical thinking skills through tests that include indicators such as elaboration, fluency, flexibility, and originality. From this observation, results were obtained which stated that the creative thinking abilities of class IV students were quite adequate overall. However, authenticity indicators were found to be underdeveloped. In conclusion, mathematics learning needs to place more emphasis on the elaboration of students' creative thinking skills, especially in the context of Geometry and multiplication operations, to increase students' understanding and enthusiasm for learning.

Abstract

The problem behind this research occurs in the learning process related to student learning outcomes that are still below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM = 75), where students who reach the KKM as many as 7 people out of 16 students (43%), have difficulty in remembering the material about the diversity of Indonesian culture, such as the diversity of traditional houses, traditional dances, and traditional clothes, do not create interest in learning and attract students in the learning process. This study aims to develop pop-up book learning media, to analyze the feasibility of the developed pop-up book learning media, and to determine the responses of students and educators to the developed pop-up book learning media. The type of research used is R&D with research and development procedural from Borg and Gall which has been modified by Sugiyono with development steps, namely; (1) the potential and problem stages by observing, (2) the data collection stage by conducting research activities, (3) media design, (4) media validation, (5) media revision phase I, (6) trials, and (7) media revision. This pop-up book learning media was validated by a media expert validator, and tested on educators and fourth grade students of MI NW Bagik Payung. The results showed that the level of validity of the product development of pop up book media on the material of Indonesian cultural diversity according to media experts was 94% in the Very Eligible category. The assessment of the response of educators and students at MI NW Bagik Payung is 100% categorized as Very Practical. And IK (indicator of success) 87.5% categorized as Very Effective. Students are also enthusiastic when participating in learning and are very happy when given learning media in the form of pop up book media. The conclusion of this study is that the pop up book media is effective and appropriate for use in the material on Indonesian cultural diversity for class IV SD/MI. Suggestions for further research is that it is better to develop more interesting learning media to help students learn and perfect the product to get to a mass product.
