Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Cooperative Learning method based on group guidance on the collaboration and social interaction skills of students at SMPN 2 Bantan. The research was conducted over a period of two weeks, with a series of activities including pretest, intervention, and posttest. Data were taken from 10 students who were the subjects of the study. During the study, a pretest was conducted at the beginning to determine the initial conditions of the students, followed by four intervention meetings using the Cooperative Learning method based on group guidance, and a posttest at the end of the period to measure the changes that occurred. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Cooperative Learning method based on group guidance has a significant effect on improving the collaboration and social interaction skills of students at SMPN 2 Bantan. The significant increase in these two variables indicates that the Cooperative Learning method based on group guidance is not only effective in improving collaboration skills, but is also able to improve students' social interactions. This is important because collaboration and social interaction skills are vital components in the learning process and character development of students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by short video learning on the curiosity and concept understanding of third-grade students in science subjects at SD Negeri 15 Sungai Gayung Kiri. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The population of this study is all third-grade students at SD Negeri 15 Sungai Gayung Kiri, with a research sample of 60 students divided into an experimental class and a control class. The experimental class was taught using the PBL model assisted by short video learning, while the control class received conventional teaching. The results showed significant differences in concept understanding and curiosity between the experimental and control classes after the implementation of the PBL model assisted by short video learning. The Mann-Whitney U test analysis for pretest and posttest indicated that the use of the PBL model assisted by short video learning significantly increased students' curiosity and concept understanding. This improvement can be attributed to the more interactive and engaging teaching methods that encouraged students to be more involved and interested in the material taught. The conclusion of this study is that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by short video learning is effective in enhancing students' curiosity and concept understanding in science subjects.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of the role-playing model on the conceptual understanding and communication skills of students in Social Studies learning at elementary school. The role-playing model was chosen as a teaching strategy believed to enhance student engagement, learning motivation, and conceptual understanding through a more interactive and contextual approach. The research method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The subjects of this research were fifth-grade students at SDN 2 Tanjungsamak and SDN 1 Tanjungsamak. Data collection was carried out through tests of conceptual understanding and communication skills. The results of the study showed that the use of the role-playing model significantly improved students' conceptual understanding and communication skills in Social Studies learning. Students involved in the role-playing model demonstrated better understanding of the taught material and were able to communicate their ideas more effectively. This research makes a significant contribution to the field of education, particularly in developing effective teaching methods in elementary schools. Therefore, it is hoped that teachers can implement the role-playing model as an alternative teaching strategy to enhance the quality of Social Studies learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of the cooperative learning model type Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) on the learning motivation and mathematical reasoning ability of fifth-grade students at SDN 10 Rupat. The method used in this research is an experimental method with a pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 17 fifth-grade students. During the study, the STAD learning model was implemented, and data were collected through pretests and posttests to measure students' learning motivation and mathematical reasoning ability. The results of the study showed a significant increase in students' learning motivation, with an average pretest score of 67.24 and a posttest score of 80.06. Students' mathematical reasoning ability also significantly improved, from an average pretest score of 59.88 to a posttest score of 73.71. The hypothesis testing, which included the Paired T-Test, yielded significant results (p < 0.05), indicating that the STAD learning model is effective in enhancing students' learning motivation and mathematical reasoning ability. Thus, the STAD learning model can be considered an effective method for teaching mathematics at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Speed Reading teaching method on elementary school students' reading ability and critical thinking skills. The research method used is an experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of the study consists of 5th and 6th-grade students at SD Negeri 6 Citradamai, with a total sample of 59 students divided into an experimental group and a control group. The results show that the Speed Reading method is effective in improving students' speed reading ability and critical thinking skills. This is evidenced by the Mann-Whitney test significance value (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.005 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the Speed Reading method not only enhances reading speed but also helps students analyze and evaluate information more critically.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of basic literacy on the reading interest and ability of elementary school students in Rangsang District. The research method used was an experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of fourth-grade students from SD Negeri 19 Repan and SDN 18 Penyagun, Rangsang District. The instruments used in this research were a reading interest questionnaire and a reading ability test. The data obtained were analyzed using simple linear regression tests. The results of the study indicated that basic literacy had a significant influence on students' reading interest and ability. The correlation coefficients of 0,414 for reading interest and 0,390 for reading ability showed a fairly strong relationship between basic literacy and student learning outcomes. The R Square values of 0,171 and 0,152 respectively indicated that about 17.1% and 15.2% of the variation in reading interest and ability could be explained by basic literacy. This study provides strong empirical evidence of the effectiveness of basic literacy in enhancing the reading interest and ability of elementary school students in Rangsang District. These findings have important implications for educational policy and practice, particularly in regions facing literacy challenges. Integrating intensive and systematic basic literacy programs into the elementary school curriculum can be an effective strategy to improve students' literacy skills, which in turn will support their overall academic success.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of audiovisual media on concept understanding and social skills in Social Studies (IPS) learning for sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 9 Tanjunggemuk. Audiovisual media was chosen for its ability to present information in an engaging and interactive manner, thereby enhancing students' concept understanding and social skills. The research method used is an experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consists of two classes: the experimental class using audiovisual media and the control class using conventional methods. Data were collected through tests on concept understanding and social skills. Data analysis employed the Mann-Whitney test to observe differences between the experimental and control groups. The results show that the use of audiovisual media significantly improves students' concept understanding and social skills compared to conventional methods. The Mann-Whitney test results indicate a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of concept understanding and social skills. Therefore, audiovisual media can be considered an alternative in Social Studies learning to enhance the quality of education in elementary schools.
