Abstract

The research carried out was entitled "Framing Holywings Reporting on detik.com". This research is based on the problem of the efforts of irresponsible parties in the name of Muhammad and Mary at a Holywings party which ended in a free alcohol party, the aim of which was to corner Islam as a form of marketing strategy for opening business premises. This is of course not justified and it must be known that there are elements of religious blasphemy in it. Next, the aim of the research is to find out the framing of Holywings news on detik.com and to find out the Holywings news message on detik.com. The research method is qualitative. Data collection techniques include documentation, observation and library research. The data analysis technique is issue selection and aspect highlighting. The results of the research are first, Holywings news framing at detik.com, namely framing analysis, journalists also need to pay attention to how this issue is explained, reported and perceived by the media and the wider public. Word choice, narrative framing, and presentation of information in news stories can influence how people understand and interpret these issues. Journalists must strive to avoid bias or unbalanced emphasis in conveying news, so as to provide an objective and accurate picture of the resolution of current problems. Second, the Holywings news message on detik.com is that the mass media has a very important role in conveying various social injustices and exposing cases of violations committed by Holywings, this is a form of the function of the press as a social control and information function. The conclusion at this time is that Detik.com plays its role in channeling public aspirations in defending truth and justice and providing emphasis that also influences and colors the political policies of the state, nation and religion.

Abstract

Ilustrasi pada sampul Majalah Tempo edisi 04-10 Juli 2022 bertajuk “Kantong Bocor Dana Umat” merupakan visualisasi mengenai fenomena sosial terkait penyalahgunaan dana umat yang terjadi pada salah satu lembaga filantropi terbesar di Indonesia, Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT). Kasus ini menjadi perbincangan hangat di kalangan media Indonesia sebab tak sedikit petinggi ACT yang memperoleh fasilitas kendaraan mewah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguliti makna triadik dari sampul Majalah Tempo tersebut berupa ikon, objek, dan interpretan menggunakan metode analisis semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Hasil dari penelitian menguak bahwa sampul Majalah Tempo edisi 04-10 Juli 2022 berjudul “Kantong Bocor Dana Umat” menunjukkan bagaimana sang ilustrator memvisualisasikan fenomena penyalahgunaan dana umat ACT melalui karikatur tentang sekelompok masyarakat yang beramai-ramai menggotong sebuah kendaraan mobil, di mana mobil tersebut ditunggangi oleh seseorang dengan pakaian mencolok dan berbeda dari yang lain.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the hashtag toxictok on the consumptive behavior of Communication Studies students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. In this study I used a descriptive quantitative method with a simple linear regression research technique. The population in this study were 300 respondents and the sample was 45 respondents. The theory used in this study is the dependent theory. The data collection instrument is a questionnaire. Data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis and simple linear regression analysis. The data processing was carried out with the help of SPSS Software Version 23. Based on the results of the hypothesis testing research, the results of the t test were tcount > ttable or or 8.074 > 2.016 with a significant level below 0.05, namely 0.000. Thus it is concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a positive and significant influence between the poison tiktok hashtag variables on consumptive behavior. Based on the results of the coefficient of determination (R2) it shows an R2 value of 0.700 = 70%. This shows that the percentage of the contribution of the poison tiktok hashtag to the consumptive behavior of UINSU Medan Communication Science students is 70%.

Abstract

In an era of ever-growing technological advances, social media has become an increasingly important communication platform for society. With the ability to send messages that only require text on the cellphone screen, these messages can be spread quickly to various places according to the wishes of the sender. A study conducted by researchers aimed to explore the analysis of sarcasm in netizen comments on Rohingya news on the Tribun Bogor TikTok account. This research focuses on identifying various forms of sarcasm used in netizen comment columns regarding Rohingya news on these accounts, with in-depth content analysis. Researchers also conducted qualitative analysis of these comments to identify groups of forms of sarcasm that emerged. The results of this research reveal the significant use of sarcastic language in netizen comments regarding Rohingya news on the TikTok account @Tribunbogor. Through focused analysis of sarcasm styles such as propositional, lexical, 'like'-prefixed, and illocutionary sarcasm, researchers succeeded in identifying significant levels of sarcastic language use. From the 23 comment samples analyzed, significant variations in the use of sarcastic style were clearly visible. The two video posts that were the focus of the research, namely "Viral video of Rohingya refugees allegedly protesting" with 1,537 comments, and "Rohingya Refugees Land in North Sumatra, Residents Provide Food" with 429 comments, show that sarcastic language is widely used in both contexts. This research confirms that sarcastic language is an effective tool for conveying negative sentiments, dissatisfaction and criticism of the Rohingya refugee issue. These findings provide a deeper understanding of the dynamics of public opinion andsocial interactions on sensitive issues on social media, especially in the context of humanitarian crises.

Abstract

Journalism as a news processing technique so that it is feasible to spread it to the public. A good journalist This research is based on the reporting of the Brigadier Yoshua case. Because this will definitely raise the perception of many people regarding the "Brigadier Yoshua Case". Which was broadcast on several Indonesian Mainstream Media which involved many police officers involved in this case and made this news attract the public's attention because it was carried out by a high-ranking police officer, namely Ferdy Sambo, S,H., S.I.K., M.H. so that the researchers determined the title "The news about "Brigadier Yoshua Case" influences public opinion towards the police in the OPI Housing District, Palembang City." The aim of the research is to find out how the news about the "Brigadier Yoshua Case" influences public opinion towards the police. This type of quantitative research uses data collection techniques through questionnaires, observation and documentation. The research sample is 22 people in the Opi Jakabaring Palembang housing complex validity test, reliability test, data normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. The results of the research show that the hypothesis test value ttable = db 5% 2.66 can be calculated so that tcount is 10.089 > ttable 2.66, with a sig value of 0.008 <0.05. influence. It can be concluded that the reporting of the "Brigadier Yoshua Case" has a positive and significant influence on Public Opinion towards the Police, the R square value of 0.670 (67%) is strongly related. The researcher's advice to the public is to be wiser in selecting information from existing news.

Abstract

The existence of the state is inseparable from political activities. All parties have a role in state politics. Including the younger generation who have a role in politics, such as becoming first-time voters in central and regional elections. The role of novice voters who actively participate in elections shows the success of democracy in a country. However, the findings in the field are still many who do not understand about politics and the role of novice voters. This finding moved the service team to organize socialization to the younger generation. Service activities are carried out with a participatory action research (PAR) model. Service partners are aimed at students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Panca Marga University in the second and fourth semesters. The service activity with the theme "Socialization of Strengthening the Role of Beginner Voters towards Democratic Pilkada was attended by 40 partners. Socialization activities show indicators of the success of program achievements. The results of monitoring and evaluation on the results of the questionnaire show that the activity increases the understanding of partners in political literacy and the participation of novice voters in the Pilkada. All partners enthusiastically participated in the activity from beginning to end.

Abstract

Film, as a means of mass communication, has an important role in conveying messages to a wide audience in the current digital era. Not just a form of entertainment, films are also artistic and cultural expressions that reflect social and cultural realities and have a significant impact on viewers through the messages they convey. The research entitled Analysis of the Reality of the Indonesian Pandemic in the Film The Promised Day aims to analyze how the film The Promised Day by Fajar Bustomi depicts the reality of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The research approach used is a qualitative approach with a type of descriptive research that focuses on analyzing the meaning contained in the film. Analysis was carried out on film scenes using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis technique, paying attention to the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth implied in each scene. The data collection technique begins with making observations. In the context of the research, the initial stage involved selecting texts and images related to the film "The Promised Day" with a holistic observation approach to the overall narrative and visual elements presented in the film. This procedure was continued with the data collection process related to the film The Promised Day. The collected data was then analyzed by researchers. After the collected data is classified, analysis is carried out by applying Roland Barthes' Semiotic analysis techniques which include denotation, connotation and myth as the main analysis tools. Through this semiotic theory approach, a film is not only interpreted at the level of an explicitly revealed narrative, but also explored to identify the myths implicit in the narrative. This film shows a story that is very relevant to the current condition of Indonesian society, especially in facing the impact of COVID-19 pandemic. Through various scenes in the film, various aspects of the impact of the pandemic, such as economic, health, educational and social, are depicted in detail. The research results show that the film The Promised Day succeeded in strongly reflecting the reality of the pandemic in Indonesia, through its depiction of the situation and struggles faced by Indonesian people in facing the COVID-19 outbreak. The conclusions of this research provide a deeper understanding of the reality of the pandemic in Indonesia through the medium of film, and have the potential to contribute to the development of science and knowledge in the fields of film analysis and communication studies.

Abstract

Leadership is the ability of a leader to control, lead, and influence the thoughts, feelings, or behavior of others to achieve predetermined goals. In the context of public leadership, officials from political parties or from professional backgrounds often cannot separate personal (party) interests from the broader public interest. The method used in this research is qualitative research. The strategy employed by political parties in the process of regeneration and filling national leadership roles includes recruitment, education, and development of political cadres.

Abstract

Asumsi dasar yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini yaitu bahwa terdapat makna-makna tertentu pada setiap tanda berupa kata, kalimat, cara bicara, mimik wajah, serta nada bicara dalam merepresentasikan persona branding yang coba dikonstruksikan oleh ketiga Capres melalui video program acara “3 Bacapres bicara Gagasan” pada akun Youtube Mata Najwa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membongkar personal branding yang dikonstruksikan media Mata Najwa pada video yang berjudul “3 Bacapres Bicara Gagasan” dalam YouTube Mata Najwa. Analisa data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan analisis semiotika oleh Charles Sanders Pierce. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa personal branding yang dikonstruksikan media Mata Najwa pada video yang berjudul “3 Bacapres Bicara Gagasan” dalam YouTube Mata Najwa dapat dilihat dari beberapa unsur unsur utama dalam konsep pembentukan personal branding menurut Peter Montoya yakni: spesialisasi (the law of specialization), kepemimpinan (the law of leadership), kepribadian (the law of personality), perbedaan (the law of distinctiveness), kenampakan (the law of visibility), keteguhan (the law of persistence) dan maksud baik (the law of goodwill). Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa unsur kesatuan (the law of unity) tidak tampak pada personal branding yang dikonstruksikan media Mata Najwa pada video yang berjudul “3 Bacapres Bicara Gagasan”.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap mitos kepercayaan yang terkandung dalam film "Menjelang Maghrib" karya Helfi Kardit melalui analisis semiotika Roland Barthes. Pendekatan semiotika Barthes digunakan untuk mengkaji tanda-tanda yang terdapat dalam film ini, terutama dalam kaitannya dengan narasi, karakter, dan simbol-simbol visual yang digunakan untuk merepresentasikan kepercayaan dan mitos dalam budaya masyarakat. Metode pengumpulan data meliputi observasi terhadap film dan analisis dokumen terkait, termasuk skenario, ulasan kritis, dan wawancara dengan sutradara dan beberapa aktor. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis konten yang memfokuskan pada identifikasi dan interpretasi mitos dalam tanda-tanda filmik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa "Menjelang Maghrib" mengandung berbagai mitos kepercayaan yang merefleksikan pandangan dan nilai-nilai masyarakat tentang waktu maghrib sebagai waktu yang penuh dengan makna mistis dan spiritual. Analisis ini mengungkap bagaimana film ini menggunakan elemen-elemen sinematik untuk memperkuat narasi mitos dan membentuk persepsi penonton tentang realitas yang digambarkan. Kesimpulannya, melalui pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes, penelitian ini berhasil mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis mitos kepercayaan dalam film "Menjelang Maghrib", serta memberikan wawasan baru tentang cara film mempengaruhi dan memperkuat mitos dalam budaya populer.
