Abstract

Abstract

Effective asset management is a crucial factor in improving the efficiency and reliability of industrial equipment. However, in the implementation of technology-based asset management, an imbalance remains between the availability of equipment condition data and its utilization in maintenance decision-making. This study aims to evaluate the level of Asset Health Management (AHM) implementation through the use of the MX application and to identify issues that hinder comprehensive AHM implementation. The results show that the level of AHM implementation varies across equipment types, with 90% for mechanical equipment, 16% for instrument equipment, and 70% for electrical equipment. Of the 224 pieces of equipment registered in the AHM system, 7% had blank indicators due to unavailability of measurement data (no measurement) and 3% due to the absence of condition indicators (no indicator). In addition, several pieces of equipment were identified as being in critical high and caution high conditions, which could potentially reduce operational reliability if not addressed promptly. Based on the analysis, proposed improvements focused on adding measurement parameters and condition indicators to equipment experiencing blank indicators, as well as adjusting condition-based maintenance strategies for equipment with critical high and caution high status, such as measuring tire displacement against the shell, monitoring bucket condition, and inspecting thrust roller bearings. The implementation of this proposal is expected to improve the consistency of AHM implementation and support the optimization of MX application-based maintenance strategies.

Abstract

UD. Meatball Biawu is a company operating in the manufacturing sector whose main work is operational production of finished food ingredients in the form of meatballs. The absence of systematic measurement of company productivity and labor productivity means the company is unable to meet production targets or maximize production capacity. Therefore UD. Meatball Biawu seeks to increase its productivity by measuring each productivity criterion. The method used to carry out measurements is the Objective Matrix (OMAX) method. Based on research results, the best productivity occurred in March 2023, amounting to 727.86 due to high production output which exceeded production capacity, requiring additional labor. And the worst productivity level occurred in November 2022 amounting to 651.86 due to the many production defects so repairs had to be made by re-manufacturing.

Abstract

Mulya Jaya is a cracker manufacturing SME that faces problems in calculating its cost of goods manufactured (COGM) due to the lack of structured records related to raw material costs, variable overhead costs, and other production costs. This condition makes it difficult for SMEs to determine the right selling price and reduces their competitiveness and profitability. This study aims to determine COGM using the Fuzzy Sugeno method. The data on production costs are converted into fuzzy sets and membership functions, then analyzed using Matlab to obtain COGM estimates. Validation is carried out by comparing the COGM calculation results with actual profits, resulting in an error rate of 7.49%, which indicates that the Fuzzy Sugeno method is highly accurate. In addition, a sensitivity test was conducted to analyze the impact of cost changes on operational stability. The results of the study indicate that Mulya Jaya need to set up mitigation strategies when there is an increase in costs, up to 45% for raw materials and variable overheads, and up to 50% for raw material costs. The strategy that can be applied is to optimize the use of raw materials by adjusting product size and seasoning levels to maintain business sustainability.

Abstract

The rise of green bean coffee production in Bandung has significantly shaped the city's coffee landscape, with Bandung producing more than 30% of West Java's total coffee production. However, this growth brings a pressing challenge: managing the waste generated during green bean coffee processing, particularly remnants from pulping. This research explores ways to utilize coffee peel waste into profitable products in Bandung through a Causal Loop Analysis. Primary and secondary data are used to compile the conceptual model of coffee peel waste using STELLA Software. The model includes a basic model, a fertilizer model, and a bio pellet model. The analysis highlights potential reductions in waste management costs and the environmental benefits of converting organic waste into fertilizer and bio pellets. Fertilizer is chosen for its ease of implementation and low production costs, while bio pellets are valued for their superior energy characteristics and high-value chemical compounds. The study also examines revenue sharing mechanisms among stakeholders, suggesting equitable distribution models to ensure fair economic benefits across the supply chain, including farmers and industry.

Abstract

This study aims to identify safe work steps, identify potential hazards, and preventive measures against lecture activities in a single elephant polytechnic workshop using the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) method. Workshops that are the center of practice learning face various safety risks, such as from work tools, chemicals, to environmental conditions. Observation was carried out in five main processes: Lathe, Las, Sitting Grinding, Hand Grinding, and Milling. The observation process produces 35 potential hazards. This danger is anticipated through control steps such as the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), technical improvement, and administrative management. These steps are used to create a safer learning environment, increase awareness of the importance of safety, and support the optimal learning process.
