Abstract

Batam is a city in the Riau Islands Province, Indonesia. Batam City comprises several islands: Batam, Galang, and Rempang, along with other smaller islands located in the Malacca and Singapore Straits. Three larger islands are connected by the Barelang Bridge: Batam, Galang, and Rempang. Batam City is part of the Batam-Bintan-Karimun (BBK) Free Trade Zone. Batam City covers a land area of 715 km², consisting of rice fields, forests, and hills, while its sea area covers 1,575 km². The city's climate is tropical, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius, and the land surface is varied, with valleys and hilly areas. Kampung Tua Tanjung Riau is a sub-district located in the Sekupang district of Batam City, Riau Islands, Indonesia. The sub-district covers an area of 23.90 km², with a population of 23,987 in 2020, and a density of 1,004 people per km². Kampung Tua Tanjung Riau is located in neighborhood units (RW) 01 and 02. In densely populated areas like Kampung Tua Tanjung Riau, environmental issues arise, such as uncontrolled waste management. Some homes still dispose of toilet waste into the sea, creating environmental problems. The public must become aware of tourism, which can boost economic growth in the area. However, several obstacles must be addressed immediately by local residents and the government to provide support for residents' prosperity and a healthy environment.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of employee engagement and job security on job satisfaction among employees of the Protocol and Leadership Communication Section of the Surabaya City Government. Employee engagement is conceptualized as the emotional and cognitive connection that employees have with their work, while job security refers to employees’ perception of stability and continuity in their employment. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed, utilizing a saturated sampling technique due to the limited population size of fewer than 30 employees. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale. The instrument consisted of eight items for employee engagement, eight items for job security, and eight items for job satisfaction. Validity and reliability tests were conducted using SPSS 26, followed by multiple linear regression analysis to examine both partial and simultaneous effects. The findings are expected to provide empirical evidence on how engagement and perceived security contribute to overall job satisfaction within government institutions, particularly in high-demand communication and protocol functions.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of organizational capabilities, green absorptive capacity, and strategic environmental orientation on sustainable competitive advantage through green innovation in SMEs in Jambi, Indonesia. A quantitative approach was utilized, employing a structured survey distributed to 300 SME managers in Jambi and Sungai Penuh. The data collected was analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with WarpPLS software to assess the relationships between variables and test the proposed hypotheses. The findings show that organizational capabilities, green absorptive capacity, and strategic environmental orientation significantly influence green innovation in SMEs. Moreover, green innovation was found to mediate the relationship between these organizational factors and sustainable competitive advantage. These results emphasize the importance of integrating internal capabilities and green practices for improving long-term business performance and competitiveness in SMEs. This study contributes to the literature by providing a comprehensive model that links organizational capabilities, green absorptive capacity, and strategic environmental orientation to green innovation, ultimately enhancing sustainable competitive advantage. The unique combination of these factors in the context of SMEs in Indonesia addresses a gap in existing research on eco-innovation and sustainable performance. The study offers practical implications for SME managers and policymakers by highlighting the need for fostering green capabilities and supporting eco-innovation initiatives. Future research could explore the role of external environmental pressures in influencing these relationships.

The research explores the role of Green Skill Competencies (GSC), Green Creative Self-Efficacy (GCSE), and Green Competitive Advantage (GCA) as mediators in enhancing business performance through green practices. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing survey data from 497 SME managers in Pamekasan and Bangkalan, analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. This study addresses a gap in understanding how green HR practices and leadership styles contribute to the development of green competencies and creative self-efficacy, which, in turn, strengthen green competitive advantage and sustainable business performance. The findings reveal significant positive effects of GHRM and GIL on GSC, GCSE, GCA, and SBP, indicating that integrating green leadership and human resource practices into business strategies can significantly enhance sustainability performance in SMEs. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of visual merchandise on impulse buying, with emotional response serving as a mediating variable among Shopee marketplace users in Medan City. The research employs a quantitative method using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 91 active Shopee users. The results indicate that visual merchandise has a positive effect on impulse buying, both directly and indirectly through emotional response. Visual elements such as page design, product image quality, interactive promotions, and digital store navigation are proven to evoke positive emotions, including pleasure, urgency, and self-confidence. These emotional responses strengthen the tendency toward spontaneous purchasing without rational consideration. The findings confirm that emotional experience plays a crucial role in linking visual strategies to consumers’ impulsive buying behavior. Therefore, visual strategies function not only as aesthetic elements but also as effective psychological tools for enhancing consumer engagement and impulsive purchase decisions in the marketplace.

Abstract

This study investigates how cash management influences profit performance in Indonesian pharmacy companies, with liquidity positioned as a moderating factor. Using a quantitative approach rooted in the positivist paradigm, the research analyzes secondary data obtained from audited financial statements of pharmacy firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2021–2024 period. Cash Turnover, Return on Assets (ROA), and the Current Ratio (CR) were used as key indicators to represent cash management, profit performance, and liquidity. Multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) were applied after meeting classical assumption requirements, including tests for normality, multicollinearity, heteroskedasticity, and autocorrelation. The empirical findings indicate that cash management significantly and negatively affects profit performance, suggesting that overly rapid cash turnover may reflect insufficient cash reserves and can weaken profitability. Liquidity shows a positive and significant effect on profit performance, demonstrating its role in supporting operational stability. Additionally, liquidity moderates the relationship between cash management and profit performance by reducing the strength of this influence. These results highlight the importance of balanced cash management and optimal liquidity conditions in ensuring financial sustainability within pharmacy companies. The study also recommends expanding future research through additional variables, broader samples, and alternative analytical frameworks.
