Abstract

This research aims to describe the meaning of rejoice contained in Philippians 4:4-7 and reflect it on the lives of Christians today. In this writing, a qualitative method is used with an exegetical approach to draw meaning through the images that Paul has given through his writing, then the results of the interpretation and conclusions are expected to provide the right understanding for believers. The initial understanding of Christians assumes that if everything goes according to what is desired, it is desirable that they will rejoice and Christians imagine that joy is living without problems or just having fun and measuring this joy only by the amount of material things. The results of the analysis show that rejoicing cannot be separated from all His advice and rules and rejoicing is not just having fun or living without problems, but rejoicing in every situation of abundance, lack, then all things can be borne in Him who gives strength ( Phil. 4:13). Where the meaning of rejoice is expressed by being grateful in all circumstances, meaning both in hardship and happiness, disappointment, trials, suffering, which is implemented through friendly, kind-hearted actions towards everyone regardless of whether they are rich or poor and there is no place to worry and give up. everything to God by praying. So in this way, Christians who can do this will receive grace from God, namely God's peace which preserves and protects human hearts and minds, where disappointments, trials and suffering will be transformed by God into salvation. This research concludes that the meaning of rejoice is a command written by Paul for every Christian which can be seen from his gratitude and is implemented through actions that are friendly, kind to others and that there is no room for excessive worry and prayer. So that in the end you will obtain God's peace and God, the source of peace, will guard the hearts and minds of believers.

Abstract

This article discusses how to become a PAK teacher who lives by adhering to the basics of the Christian Faith as the basis of our Christian Faith is God. The life of a PAK teacher must always have a close relationship with God through praise, worship, and personal fellowship with Him. PAK teachers must be able to be role models for students like Jesus who is an example for our lives. In Hebrews 11: 1 it is said that "Faith is the basis of everything we hope for and the evidence of everything we do not see", faith is very necessary in the teaching of PAK, otherwise he cannot teach well to children because of Faith to Jesus Christ is the basis and example for a PAK teacher. The goal of a PAK teacher's teaching is to bring children to true faith in Christ and live in truth. For example, Jesus had the ultimate goal of His teaching, namely repentance and renewal of life.

Abstract

This research discusses the teachings of ethics and morals contained within the letters of Paul in the New Testament. The main focus of this study is to explore the ethical and moral values taught by Paul within the context of his letters and their relevance to modern society. Textual and contextual analysis methods are employed to identify the moral principles emphasized by Paul in various aspects of life, including interpersonal relationships, social responsibility, and personal integrity. The research findings indicate that Paul's letters contain ethical guidelines rooted in Christian principles, such as love, humility, and forgiveness. These teachings are analyzed within the cultural and social context of their writing, and are connected to the ethical challenges faced by modern society. Despite being written thousands of years ago, the moral principles taught by Paul remain relevant in addressing contemporary ethical issues, such as business ethics, human rights, and the environment. This study provides insights into how the teachings of ethics and morals in Paul's letters can be applied and adapted within the context of modern society. The practical implications of this research are to encourage further reflection on the values inherited from Paul's teachings and how these values can shape the perspectives and actions of society in facing current moral challenges.

Abstract

The main concepts in this chapter, namely, keeping oneself in God's love, praying in the Holy Spirit, and waiting for God's grace, are analyzed to understand their impact on Christian teenagers' character, identity, and faith development. The results show that the implementation of these concepts positively affects the way Christian teenagers view themselves, their relationship with God, and their attitude toward the future. A strong hope in God's grace becomes an important pillar in their spiritual growth. Research on the implementation of Jude 1:17-25 for the growth of Christian teenagers can be carried out using qualitative research methods. This method allows the researcher to go deep into the understanding and experience of Christian teenagers related to the verse. The concept of "keeping oneself in the love of God" changes the way they understand their identity, while "praying in the Holy Spirit" helps them get closer to God personally. Furthermore, "waiting for God's mercy" creates an attitude of hope that brings them through difficult times with courage. The findings provide valuable insights into how we can support the spiritual growth of Christian teenagers through the implementation of the concepts of Jude 1:17-25.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of Christian Religious Education teacher guidance on the discipline of ninth grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Sitapongan in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research hypothesis is that there is a positive and significant influence between the guidance of Christian Religious Education teachers on the discipline of ninth grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Sitapongan in the 2023/2024 academic year. Descriptive quantitative research method. The population of all ninth grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Sitapongan in the 2023/2024 academic year who are Protestant Christians is 102 people. Sampling from the list of estimated sample sizes based on the Krejcie Morgan formula is 80 people. The research instrument was a closed questionnaire. The results of data analysis obtained: 1) regression equation. 2) The determination test found the influence of 28.30%. 3) Hypothesis testing obtained thitung = 3,181>ttabel = 2,000, namely there is a positive and significant influence between the guidance of Christian Religious Education teachers on student discipline in class IX SMP Negeri 5 Sitapongan in the 2023/2024 academic year and can be accepted as true.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the meaning of worship that generation z feels in worship. This shows how important it is to respect God in worship, making God the center of worship. The meaning of worship can also be felt when we come to worship with the aim of establishing a relationship with God and others. The method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach with 10 research subjects selected to collect data in the field. The results of the research show that Generation Z experiences a lack of meaning in worship and respect in worship when taking photos during worship activities, because it interferes with concentration when listening to God's word and during worship activities. Some opinions from generation Z say that the meaning of worship that they feel when taking photos of their worship activities is not reduced because they only take photos and concentrate again on attending the worship service, because they upload the photos after returning from worship. The purpose of generation z uploading photos of their worship activities on social media is to inform their social media friends that they are attending worship and also as one of generation z's discourses to remind and invite their social media friends to come to worship.

Abstract

This article examines the central role and importance of “love” in 1 John, with a particular focus on the concept of agape love. This letter is one of the writings in the New Testament which raises the theme of love in the context of Christians' relationship with God and each other. In this commentary, we explain the meaning, characteristics, and implications of agape love found in 1 John. This research aims to reveal that agape love is not only the foundation of Christian faith, but also plays an important role in shaping the character and ethics of Christian life. We will present key quotes from 1 John that illustrate the message of agape love and discuss how these principles can be applied in contemporary Christian life. The results of this research can provide a deeper understanding of the meaning and value of agape love in the context of this letter and inspire thinking about how to live it in everyday life as a Christian.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of applying the Discussion Method by PAK teachers on the Learning Motivation of Class VIII Students at SMP Negeri 1 Siatas Barita T.P 2022/2023. The method used in this research is a quantitative research method. The population is all 146 students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Siatas Barita who are Christians. The sample was taken from 30% of 146 class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Siatas Barita, namely 43 people. Data was collected using a positive closed questionnaire with 32 items. The results of data analysis show that there is a positive and significant influence of the application of the Discussion Method by PAK teachers on the Learning Motivation of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Siatas Barita T.P 2022/2023 1) Test the analysis requirements: a) positive relationship test obtained by the value rxy = 0.462 > rtable (a=0.05,n=43) = 0.301, thus it is known that there is a positive relationship between variable n-2=41)=2.021, thus there is a significant relationship between variable X and variable Y. c) Test the effect of regression determination (r2) = 21.34%. 2) Influence test: Regression equation test, obtained regression equation Ŷ=16.30+0.28X. Thus Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. This research concludes that there is a positive and significant influence of the application of the Discussion Method by PAK teachers on the Learning Motivation of Class VIII Students at SMP Negeri 1 Siatas Barita T.P 2022/2023 amounting to 21.34%.

Abstract

Anxiety is a serious problem in human life. Anxiety can paralyze the soul so that a person can lose the enthusiasm to do something. Worry can damage a person's relationship with someone, even with God. Worry is also a feeling of worry, anxiety. Worry is being afraid (anxious, worried) about something that is not yet known for certain. Feelings of worry or anxiety not only affect physical health, but in daily life practices influence the patterns of thinking and spirituality that are built. Worrying cannot solve our problems. Worrying doesn't help tomorrow's troubles, but it completely destroys today's happiness. The more we worry, the more difficult and difficult the life we ​​live.
