Abstract

Based on the initial observations of researchers in carrying out Week End Pastoral (WEP), OMK in Rayon IV Parish of the Holy Cross of West Nias, was very lacking in giving themselves to be involved in church life activities. This is caused by the development of technology that continues to grow and the freedom of parents towards their children. This study aims to find out who OMK is and to find out the active involvement of OMK in church life in Rayon IV West Nias Holy Cross Parish. This study uses a qualitative method. Qualitative research is research that describes social phenomena in accordance with the context that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from humans and from observable behavior. So through this method the researcher wants to see the overall phenomenon that occurs at the research location. The results of the researchers found that OMK were not actively involved, because parents and local church officials did not pay attention to providing opportunities to be involved in church life. Finally, OMK find their own comfort by freely roaming everywhere, playing online games, sports, and work.

Abstract

Education is important at every level and even determines the quality of further education, and is an integral part of the entire national education system. To improve the quality of education, the government has announced 12 years of basic education, 6 years at the elementary school level, 3 years at the junior high school level and 3 years at the senior high school level. Vocational Secondary Education, provides / prepares basic provisions for students to be able to develop to continue to a higher level, implement real life in society and in the world of work. With this provision, it is hoped that children will be able to realize themselves as individuals, members of society, citizens and members of humanity in developing life around them. In implementing the Merdeka curriculum there are Dimensions and Elements of the Pancasila Student Profile that must be developed, then the Pancasila Student Profile has 6 dimensions and several elements in them: Have faith, fear God Almighty, and have a noble character, Global Diversity, Independent, Work together, Critical reasoning and, Creative. Based on the things found during the learning process, the following conclusions are drawn: The Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning method is a learning method that can improve student learning outcomes to solve the problems they face. By using the Problem Based Learning method, it can improve the learning outcomes of students in each cycle experiencing changes and improvements. This is proven by the achievement of pre-cycle test results with an average percentage of only 72.5% in cycle I, and at the end of cycle II it reached 86.66%, an increase of 14.16%. The application of the PBL Problem Based Learning method can improve the learning outcomes of class X students of SMKN 1 Tanah Siang.

Abstract

This study departs from the concern of researchers over the reality of the relationship between parents and children. The main problem raised is the attitude of parents in giving their time to children is very minimal both in the form of mentoring and educating. The purpose of this study was to find out what is meant by the relationship between parents and children and to know the description of the relationship between parents and children at Hati Kudus Sitolubanua Station. The research methodology is qualitative research. This research was conducted at Hati Kudus Sitolubanua Station. Subjects were 20 people, data collection methods were observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through three processes, namely: data reduction, data display, and verification. The results of the study illustrate that the relationship between parents and children at the Hati Kudus Sitolubanua station does not fully have much time to establish relationships. There is still a lack of openness between parents and children. there are still families using authoritarian or power parenting styles that have very excessive control and a lack of parental involvement in children's education, especially in children's learning. Parents are able to explain and invite children to understand that family is the first place to find comfort and happiness filled with good relationships, able to create relationships full of prosperity and harmony in the family.

Abstract

This research departs from the author's concern about the reality that is happening to SEKAMI children at St. John, St. Fidelis Rock Islands, where they still cannot be SEMI Catholic children as expected by the Church. The main problem discussed is that SEKAMI assistants, especially pastoral officers, have not succeeded in developing the personality of SEKAMI children, based on the methods and efforts they have tried and applied. In preparing this thesis, the authors use qualitative research methods. Qualitative research is research that describes phenomena, events, and social activities that occur scientifically. The qualitative approach method is an approach by looking at the object of study as a system, meaning that the object of study is seen as a unit consisting of related elements. The Church sees the importance of education and personality formation from an early age, so that later they can grow into generations that are useful for the nation and the Church. Therefore, pastoral officers should play a big role and try their best to be able to accompany and develop the personality of SEKAMI's children according to what the Church expects.

Abstract

There is a problem of a lack of motivation to learn and critical reasoning abilities in students in learning Catholic Religious Education and Characteristics in terms of competency achievement, students are able to understand the meaning and meaning of the Church in Phase F of Class XI SMKN 3 Magelang in the 2023/2024 academic year. So this research aims : Knowing the effectiveness of applying the PBL learning model in increasing motivation and critical reasoning skills in learning Catholic Religious Education and Characteristics in terms of competency achievement, students are able to understand the meaning and meaning of the Church in Phase F Class XI SMKN 3 Magelang in the 2023/2024 academic year. This type of research is Classroom Action Research using 2 cycles. With research variables learning motivation, critical reasoning and Problem Based Learning techniques. The population of students who are Catholics at SMK Negeri 3 Magelang. The sample of class XI students is Catholic with a total of 4 students. Data collection techniques in this study were observation and questionnaires. Cycle 1 motivation obtained the highest interest questionnaire score of 27 on behalf of Chornelia in the competent category, the lowest score of 15 on behalf of Agatha was included in the appropriate category. If seen from the average interest score of 20.5 in cycle 1, this is included in the proficient category. Attention in cycle 1 gets an overview of the highest score of 26 on behalf of Chornelia including the proficient category, the lowest score on behalf of 15 Agatha is included in the appropriate category. The average attention score of 20.3 in cycle 1 is included in the proficient category. Meanwhile, the highest participation score of 25 on behalf of Cornelia is in the competent category, while the lowest score of 16 is in the appropriate category. The average participation score of 20.3 is included in the proficient category.The results of the study show that the percentage of motivation in cycle 1 is only 51% of the motivation that appears in learning, so it needs to be increased again so that learning objectives are achieved. Critical reasoning ability Cycle 1 obtained the highest critical reasoning questionnaire score of 22 on behalf of Chornelia included in the proficient category, the lowest score of 8 on behalf of Agatha was included in the appropriate category. If seen from the average score, a score of 14 is included in the feasible category. So it is necessary to increase the ability of critical reasoning so that learning objectives can be achieved optimally. The percentage of critical reasoning abilities shows that the ability of students has only reached 50%, so there is also a need for improvement so that learning objectives can be achieved optimally. Furthermore, cycle 2 motivation obtained the highest interest questionnaire score of 37 on behalf of Cornelia included in the proficient category, the lowest score of 19 on behalf of Agatha was included in the appropriate category. If seen from the average interest score of 29.8 in cycle 2, this is included in the proficient category. Attention in cycle 2 gets an overview of the highest score of 34 on behalf of Chornelia including the proficient category, the lowest score on behalf of 19 Agatha is included in the appropriate category. The average attention score of 28.3 in cycle 1 is included in the proficient category. While the highest participation score of 34 on behalf of Cornelia is in the proficient category, the lowest score is 21 in the proficient category. The average participation score of 27.8 is included in the proficient category. The percentage of critical reasoning abilities in cycle 2 can be seen that only 78% of students have motivation that appears in learning, already showing an increase in achieving learning goals. The final conclusion is that the use of the PBL model in teaching Catholicism in Church material for class XI SMKN 3 Magelang can increase motivation and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

In preliminary observation at SMK Negeri 2 Nanga Bulik, researcher found that learning outcomes by Catholic students in class X on the theme Human Beings as Personals was not optimal. Therefore this research aims to: 1. Improve the learning outcomes of class X students of SMKN 2 Nanga Bulik with the theme Human Beings as Personals. 2. Improving students' ability to apply moral elements to humans (P5). Learning is done with the PBL method. The results of the study: in cycle I, only 11.1% including the proficient category, the competent category 55.56%, the proper category 33.3%. Whereas in cycle II, students who reached the proficient category reached 67%, the competent category 22% and the feasible category 11%. Observational data related to the application of the P5 indicator that has been determined by the researchers,on average, has increased by 22%. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the PBL model contributes positively to improving student learning outcomes in class X SMKN 2 NangaBulik on the theme of Human Beings as Personals. It is suggested to teachers and schools to consider using the PBL model in learning to improve the quality of learning and student learning outcomes in the future.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low student learning achievement, this happens because the learning model used by the teacher is less attractive to students. This study aims to determine efforts to improve student learning achievement through the application of problem-based learning (PBL) learning models at St. Xaverius Gunungsitoli Private High School. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative research. The data collection techniques used are observation, interview and documentation. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The subjects in this study were teachers, students and principals. The results showed that the problem-based learning model was able to increase student activeness in the learning process, this is because teachers always give students the freedom to learn independently in the learning process. The conclusion is that the problem-based learning model is able to improve student learning achievement at SMAS Xaverius Gunungsitoli.

Abstract

The focus of the research departs from the researcher's concern over the reality of a learning system that is still too teacher-centred. The main problem raised is the low interest of students in learning. The purpose of this research is to explore the extent to which the implementation of e-learning is able to increase students' interest in learning. The research method used is qualitative research. This research was conducted at SMA Swasta Santu Xaverius Gunungsitoli. The research informants were seventeen people as a representation of educational actors in SMA Swasta Santu Xaverius Gunungsitoli. The selection of locations and research subjects was done by purposive sampling. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model. The analysis was conducted through three processes, namely: data reduction, data display, and data verification. Based on the research that has been carried out, the research results illustrate that teachers and students have collaborated the e-learning learning system with face-to-face or conventional learning. Through e-learning, teachers and students utilise the internet network to share learning materials, send assignments, and search for additional knowledge through applications or websites. The implementation of e-learning in SMA Swasta Santu Xaverius Gunungsitoli has a positive impact on learning activities. This is evidenced by the increase in students' interest in learning. Abstract

The background of this research is that conventional learning models are no longer effective in arousing student interest, motivation, and independence in learning. To overcome this, a progressive learning approach is needed, such as Problem Based Learning (PBL), which is supported by PowerPoint media to trigger students' interest in learning. The main objective of this research is to implement learning through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach using powerpoint media, with a focus on increasing student learning independence. In addition, this research also aims to increase the learning achievement targets of Catholic Religious Education in the school environment. The method used is descriptive method through classroom action research with two cycles. The results of the first cycle of research showed the results of student scores, namely that there were 2 students in the proficient category, 5 students in the proficient category, and 3 students in the feasible category. However, student independence is still not optimal, as seen from the 71% level of independent learning. In the second cycle, there was a significant increase, with 5 students in the proficient category, 4 students in the proficient category, and 1 student in the proper category. Student learning independence also experienced a high increase, reaching 90%. The implications of these findings indicate that an approach that encourages active student participation through PBL and PowerPoint media has a positive impact on increasing student independence and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The level of attendance of young people attending worship services at GEPKIN Tarutung City has increased. According to the author's observations, this is influenced by several factors such as: music, interesting sermons, welcoming guests, and variations in service. The method used by researchers is a qualitative descriptive approach. The research implementation uses procedures that produce descriptive data in the form of written and spoken words from people whose behavior is observed through interviews or observations using a qualitative approach. This research aims to determine the factors that influence the high level of attendance of young people in worship at GEPKIN Tarutung City. From the research results, it can be seen that the factors of music, interesting sermons, welcoming guests, variety of services can increase the high attendance of young people in worship at GEPKIN Tarutung city. With the factors that influence the high level of attendance of young people, it can increase the presence of young people in worship at GEPKIN Tarutung city.
