Abstract

This study analyzes the transformation of Islamic education in madrasahs through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology as a means to strengthen Islamic values. The research aims to understand how AI can be utilized not only to enhance learning effectiveness but also to support the internalization of moral and spiritual principles in education. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research was conducted in two madrasahs that have adopted AI-based learning systems. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, and then analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that AI technology significantly enhances learning personalization, efficiency, and student engagement. Nonetheless, the success of this digital transformation relies on the teacher’s role as a moral and spiritual facilitator rather than a passive technology user. Teachers consciously embed Islamic values such as honesty (ṣidq), discipline (istiḳāmah), and responsibility (amānah) within AI-assisted learning interactions. However, several challenges remain, including limited digital infrastructure, insufficient teacher training in AI literacy, and the absence of formal policies supporting the systematic integration of Islamic values. This study concludes that the transformation of Islamic education in the AI era must harmonize technological innovation with spiritual and ethical guidance. The synergy between technology, educators, and institutional policy is crucial to developing adaptive, value-based Islamic education.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed educational practices, including those within Islamic schooling systems. This study investigates the challenges, opportunities, and ethical implications of integrating AI technologies into Islamic education. The research aims to analyze how AI tools—such as adaptive learning systems, gamified instruction, digital learning content, and automated administration—enhance learning personalization, access, and engagement while maintaining Islamic educational values. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the study synthesizes findings from academic literature, case studies, and expert perspectives on AI-based pedagogy in Islamic contexts. The results reveal that AI contributes positively to improving instructional efficiency, contextualized learning, and global collaboration among Islamic institutions. However, the findings also highlight critical ethical concerns, including content conformity with Islamic teachings, data privacy, the risk of dehumanization in learning, and algorithmic bias. These issues underscore the need for value-sensitive AI design that complements, rather than replaces, human educators. The study contributes to the discourse on responsible technology integration in religious education, proposing a framework for ethical and culturally grounded AI implementation that preserves the spiritual, moral, and humanistic essence of Islamic learning.

Abstract

The implementation of supervision in educational institutions is an inevitability. Its purpose is to ensure that instructional practices within these institutions are carried out in accordance with established standards. This study aims to explore the implementation of an educational supervision program as an effort by MA Darul Ulum Banyuanyar to enhance teachers’ performance in the teaching and learning process. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing descriptive analytical techniques to comprehensively examine the supervision program. This includes its planning, implementation, evaluation, and the strategies used to address challenges encountered. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and verification of supervision-related documents at MA Darul Ulum Banyuanyar. The findings indicate that the supervision program has been conducted periodically by the school principal and relevant stakeholders. The process begins with verifying the readiness and completeness of teachers’ instructional documents, followed by regular monitoring of the implementation of teaching programs. Additionally, discussion and consultation forums are facilitated to promote teachers’ professionalism and improve their performance in instructional practices.

Abstract

This study is grounded in the problem of low effectiveness in educational administration due to limited innovation, inadequate use of technology, and various barriers in managing educational services. The purpose of this study is to identify innovative strategic steps that can be implemented to improve the effectiveness of educational administration and to overcome existing challenges. This research employed a literature review method by examining various written sources such as books, journals, and scientific articles to build a theoretical foundation, strengthen arguments, and identify gaps in previous studies. The findings reveal that digital transformation is a key strategy, beginning with a situational and needs analysis to assess the digital readiness of educational institutions, including infrastructure, educators’ competencies, and learning patterns. Furthermore, measurable strategic objectives are established, such as improving access to digital education, enhancing the digital competencies of educators and staff, developing data-driven and student-centered learning systems, and implementing technology-based educational governance. These strategies are formulated into an action plan that includes program priorities, success indicators, resource allocation, and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms. The study contributes to the development of innovative, adaptive, and sustainable educational administration systems that support a more inclusive and globally competitive learning environment.

Abstract

the foundation of all educational processes, including guidance and counseling services. However, counseling practices in many Islamic elementary schools are often implemented unsystematically and are not consistently based on sustainable Islamic counseling principles. As a result, students frequently experience difficulties in understanding learning materials, maintaining learning motivation, and managing their study time effectively. This study aims to examine the implementation of Islamic academic supervision conducted by the madrasah head as a strategy to foster guidance and counseling teachers in improving the quality of Islamic counseling services at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Mun’im. The research employed a qualitative School Action Research design conducted in two cycles, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed qualitatively. The findings reveal that systematic and reflective Islamic academic supervision significantly improved the professional competence of guidance and counseling teachers in planning, implementing, and evaluating counseling services based on Islamic values. Counseling practices evolved from normative and advice-oriented approaches into more integrative and contextual guidance that promotes students’ spiritual awareness and character development. This study contributes to the development of Islamic teacher supervision models and provides practical guidance for enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of counseling services in Islamic elementary schools.
