Abstract

This study explores the alignment between science learning practices and children’s cognitive development stages based on Jean Piaget’s theory. Ten academic publications were systematically reviewed to examine how Piaget’s framework can be applied in science education. The findings highlight that integrating cognitive development theory is highly relevant for improving the quality of teaching and learning in schools. At the concrete operational stage (approximately 7–11 years), children learn best through direct experiences, manipulation of real objects, contextual media, and experiments that connect concepts with daily life. These methods help foster curiosity and reinforce conceptual understanding. As learners progress to the formal operational stage (around 11 years and above), they begin to think abstractly, reason logically, and analyze critically. At this level, student-centered approaches, inquiry-based methods, and constructivist learning become more effective in enhancing problem-solving, creativity, and higher-order thinking skills. The review also indicates that adapting instruction to developmental stages supports more meaningful and sustainable learning outcomes. In the Indonesian educational context, this approach can address challenges such as limited classroom facilities, diverse student learning styles, and a curriculum that is often overloaded. By applying Piaget’s insights, teachers can design learning strategies that bridge abstract concepts with concrete understanding, thus increasing student motivation and engagement. In conclusion, aligning science education with Piaget’s cognitive stages is an effective way to improve student performance and ensure long-term academic growth. The study provides valuable input for teachers, researchers, and policymakers in developing innovative, student-centered science and mathematics education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between firm size, profitability, and debt policy on company value at PT. KMI Wire and Cable, Tbk. for the 2017–2024 period. Company value is the main focus because it reflects the company’s overall performance and can attract investor interest and perception. Firm size is measured by the natural logarithm of total assets (LN), profitability is measured by return on equity (ROE), debt policy is measured by debt-to-equity ratio (DER), and company value is measured by price-to-book value (PBV). This research employs a quantitative method using multiple linear regression analysis to examine the causal relationship between variables. The data used are secondary data in the form of quarterly financial reports of PT. KMI Wire and Cable, Tbk. during the study period. The results of the study indicate that firm size has a negative and significant effect on company value, while profitability and debt policy show a positive and significant effect. Simultaneously, firm size, profitability, and debt policy jointly have a positive and significant effect on company value. These findings highlight the importance of balancing company growth with efficient asset management and optimal capital structure to ensure long-term financial stability. Moreover, the study contributes to empirical evidence supporting Trade-Off Theory and Pecking Order Theory, showing how capital structure decisions and profitability management can shape investor perception and firm valuation. This study provides practical insights for management in designing strategies to optimize capital structure, strengthen profitability, and manage debt responsibly to enhance firm value and investor confidence.

Abstract

Hypertension is a growing health problem, especially among the elderly and low-educated communities. Hypertension continues to emerge as a critical public health challenge, with increasing incidence and uneven impact, particularly affecting the elderly population and low-educated communities. In response to this situation, a community-based study was conducted in Plumpung Hamlet, Galengdowo Village, with the main objective of increasing residents' knowledge and awareness of primary prevention strategies and self-management of hypertension. The intervention method applied was multimodal, including interactive health lectures, distribution of leaflets designed with easy-to-understand language and clear visuals, and provision of free blood pressure checks that served as a screening tool and immediate awareness. This research design used a participatory approach with pre-test and post-test instruments to measure quantitative changes in participants' understanding, accompanied by blood pressure monitoring activities to evaluate the impact of education on physical health indicators. The evaluation results showed the program's significant success, marked by a 57.69% increase in comprehension scores between the pre-test and post-test sessions, while also showing an improvement trend in the blood pressure values of most participants after completing the entire education series. These findings clearly affirm the fundamental role of sustainable and accessible health education as an effective community-based intervention to mitigate hypertension risk factors and ultimately improve holistic quality of life. The implications of this study highlight the urgency of implementing regular, structured, and targeted education programs, especially those targeting the most vulnerable demographic groups, as a long-term health investment to prevent morbidity and complications from hypertension.
