Abstract

In all companies, human resource is the driver of other resources, while leadership and motivation have certain levels of influence on performance that represents the resource’s value. This research was conducted from March to July 2022 with the object of supervisor-level Herbalife members in Malang city during the 2021-2022 period. Using simple random sampling, 143 of them were selected as the respondents. Here multiple linear regression was used for data analysis, performed in SPSS Statistics 25.0. This study finds that leadership and motivation partially and simultaneously have positive and significant effects on the performance of sales force. Therefore, it can be concluded that increases in leadership and motivation lead to better performance among supervisor-level Herbalife members in Malang city. Hence, the uplines of supervisor members are expected to consider leadership and motivational aspects in order to improve members’ performance, especially those at supervisor level.

Abstract

Traditional markets nowadays are being marginalized as people tend to choose modern retail stores for their shopping. In the sub-district of Blimbing in Malang city, people are becoming more consumptive. The goal of this research is to identify the implementation of STP marketing strategy, which is applied on marketing mix, to increase competitiveness. The data of this descriptive qualitative research was acquired from interviews. This study finds that the results of STP marketing strategy applied by the Blimbing branch of Alfamart on the 7Ps of marketing mix are as follows. In terms of price, the store has offered low product price, while in terms of promotion, the store has been successful in attracting customers to come. Then, in terms of product, the variants are sufficient in fulfilling the need of the customers, and in terms of place, the location of the store is already strategic and easy to find. The trading process applied by the store has been efficient, and in terms of people, the shop attendants has provided excellent services to their customers. finally, in terms of physical evidence, the store is convenient and resembles Alfamart. Those features have been effective and relevant with the components of marketing mix.

Abstract

The success of an organization to achieve its objectives and targets is determined by the performance of its human resource. This also applies to governmental organizations. However, there are problems in their performance, so employee performance management is expected to be able to enhance employees’ quality and professionalism. The objective of this research is to describe the external and internal environments of the Center for the Development and Empowerment of Educators and Education Personnel in Civil and Social Sciences (PPPPTK PKn and IPS) in Batu and to identify strategies to improve its employees’ performance. The data of this descriptive qualitative case study was harvested from observations, interviews, and documentations and was processed using SWOT analysis. This study finds that the performance of the agency’s employees has not been optimal due to poor disciplinary enforcement, performance assessment system, and career development system. The strategies to improve them are using online-based information technology, creating good workplace environment that support organizational performance, enhancing the effectiveness of organization’s internal communication.

Abstract

In order to help companies reaching success, the employees need to work more, in this case by increasing Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB); the factors of which are workplace environment and work motivation. The objective of this research is to identify the effects of workplace environment and work motivation on the organizational citizenship behavior of the employees of the Directorate of Finance and Risk Management of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk. branch office of Jakarta. The samples of this explanatory research are 108 employees, selected using probability sampling method and simple random sampling technique. The data was harvested from questionnaires, that had been assessed using validity and reliability tests, followed by the classical assumption test. The results of the multiple linear regression performed in SPSS version 20 indicate that workplace environment and work motivation partially have positive effects on organizational citizenship behavior. This fact indicates that any increase in workplace environment and work motivation will also be followed by an increase in the organizational citizenship behavior of employees of the Directorate of Finance and Risk Management of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk. branch office of Jakarta.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to compare the performance of workers paid by the piece and the performance of those paid by hour. The research object is CV Albizzia Sinar Gemilang. This company applies two payment system to its workers. The respondents of this research are 83 production employees. The hypotheses of this research were tested using T test. This study finds different performance between workers paid by the piece and those paid by the hour. It advised that CV Albizzia Sinar Gemilang improve the performance of their employees and apply piece rate pay to all of its workers. Furthermore, the company is suggested to increase production supervision to improve the quality of its products.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to identify the effect of goods availability and delivery speed on customer satisfaction. The sample of this quantitative research is 130 customers of CV Favorite, a mineral water distributor company in Trenggalek, who were selected using simple random sampling. The data was harvested from questionnaires provided online and offline when the respondents were making transaction at the store. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis indicate that goods availability and delivery speed significantly affect customer satisfaction. Therefore, CV Favorite is suggested to maintain or increase the values of goods availability and delivery speed, so the company is able to keep or enhance the satisfaction  of its customers.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that had occurred from 2020 to 2022 in Indonesia adversely affected multiple sectors of industry; one of which is tourism and hotel. Savana, a hotel in Malang city that was also affected by the outbreak, responded to the unwanted condition by temporarily laying off some of their employees. This policy, however, is considered as a threat for job security, and it affects employees’ organizational commitment and work motivation, leading to lower performance. The goal of this study is to measure the influence of organizational commitment and work motivation on employee performance. The sample of this quantitative explanatory research is 75 employees of the hotel that was affected by the temporary layoff. The data was acquired from questionnaires, that have been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the analysis suggest that organizational commitment and work motivation simultaneously have a significant impact on performance by 14.6% with the F statistics of 7.317 > the T table of 3.12 and the coefficient of determination of 0.146 at the significance level of 0.001. further, organizational commitment has no significant effect on employee performance with the t statistics of 1.291 < t table of 1.993 at sig. of 0.201, while work motivation significantly influences employee performance at the t statistics of 2,847 > t table of 1,993 at sig. of 0.006.

Abstract

PT X is a logistics company that has been operating in Indonesia since 2015. This company, based on the observations, has already been aware of green logistics business process as they partner with Kamibox for solid waste processing and with Blitz for the operation of green-fuel vehicles. However, the company has not applied any performance measurement in their green logistics business. The measurement was designed using qualitative method, from which indicators based on the Green Supply Chain Operations Reference (GreenSCOR) were acquired. The components of GreenSCOR used in this research are Source, Deliver, Return, dan Waste Management. This research results in ten Key Performance Indicators. Then, based on the preset performance measurement, the score of the Green Logistics performance is 89, categorized as good. Further, three indicators were found to have values that are lower than the average; they are K1 (yellow category) and K8 and K10 (red category). The output of this research is a design of Green Logistics performance measurement recommended to the company for application.

Abstract

The business activities of companies in their business operations are inseparable from the influence of their business environments. The current global competition has required companies to develop their business systems by planning management systems and renewable strategies. Those measures must be taken in order to achieve their vision and mission in the future, from which they will be able to compete as the changes come from sources beyond their control. The goal of this study is to formulate an appropriate business strategy for CV Srikandi for higher competitiveness. The data of this qualitative descriptive research was harvested from interviews and documentations at the Malang Cite-based company. This study finds that the most appropriate business strategy for the company is the W-T strategy found in the SWOT analysis. Here the company is advised to make improvements in marketing, human resource, finance, and operation in order to get higher competitiveness.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the formulation of the correct business strategy for Raos Abadi, a bean curd producing company, so it can have some competitive advantage over other similar companies. This qualitative descriptive research starts by identifying and analyzing the internal and external environmental factors of the company. Then, the results of the identification and analysis were processed using IFE (Internal Factor Evaluation) matrix, EFE (External Factor Evaluation) matrix, SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threats) matrix, and IE matrix. This study finds that the internal environmental factor of Raos Abadi consists of four strengths and four weaknesses, while its external factor consists of four opportunities and four threats. Then, using SWOT and IE matrix, the company is advised to apply hold-and-maintain strategy through market penetration and product development. The penetration can be done by increasing promotion cost, intensifying promotions in social media, and expanding its agency network in more places. Then, product development can be carried out by keeping informed about and anticipating competitors’ sales strategy, improving the quality of the existing products, and innovating for new products.
