Abstract

The digital era has made artificial intelligence (AI) technology an increasingly important tool in various fields, including education. For high school (SMA) teachers, AI offers great opportunities to improve teaching effectiveness, reduce administrative workload, and create more personal and innovative learning experiences. This Community Service Activity (PKM) is motivated by the lack of teacher competence in creating AI-based learning media. This problem is caused by teachers only having basic skills in using AI, and the majority of teachers experiencing this difficulty are senior teachers born in the 1960s. The objective of this activity is to improve teachers' competence in using AI technology to create teaching materials to support the learning process. The activity is carried out with a combination of lecture and practice methods. The contribution of this activity lies in empowering teachers to independently produce digital teaching media. The evaluation results show that 95% of participants successfully created at least one digital teaching media, 75% of teachers were able to create two or more different designs. These evaluation results indicate that this community service activity is effective in improving the competence of teachers at SMA Negeri 5 Medan.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), requires teachers to integrate digital tools into the learning process. However, many teachers still face difficulties in creating engaging, systematic, and communicative presentation media due to limited time, insufficient design skills, and high administrative workloads. This problem was also found among teachers at SMA Negeri 5 Medan, who mostly relied on conventional presentation media. As a solution, this community service activity was conducted through training on the utilization of the Gamma Application, an AI-based platform that enables automatic presentation creation using text-based commands. A total of 30 teachers participated in this activity. The methods applied included workshops, hands-on practice, and interactive discussion sessions. Teachers were guided from the introduction of Gamma’s features to content development and the production of ready-to-use presentation slides. This activity aimed to improve teachers’ digital competence and support the development of more innovative, attractive, and effective learning media. Its main contribution lies in enhancing teachers’ skills in using AI-based technology and strengthening digital-based learning practices in schools. The results showed that all participants were able to operate the Gamma Application and produce more visually appealing, well-structured, and communicative learning presentations. Furthermore, teachers’ understanding of the role of technology in supporting the learning process significantly improved. Therefore, this activity had a positive impact on the quality of instructional media and teachers’ insights into the use of digital technology.

Abstract

The digital transformation in education requires enhanced cultural awareness that adapts to technological advancements and mental health dynamics. This study aims to develop and implement the Tech-Psy literacy program as a strategy to improve cultural awareness based on Health IT Psycho within educational settings. The approach integrates health information technology (Health IT) with educational psychology principles to foster healthy, empathetic, and culturally grounded digital behavior. The methods employed include surveys, digital-psychological literacy training, and qualitative evaluation of changes in participants’ attitudes and awareness. The results indicate that the implementation of the Tech-Psy program significantly increases participants’ understanding of digital ethics, mental health awareness in technology use, and appreciation of local cultural values within the context of digital globalization. Moreover, a positive correlation was found between Tech-Psy literacy levels and socio-emotional adaptability in digital spaces. These findings suggest that integrating Health IT Psycho into education not only supports mental well-being but also strengthens cultural identity in the technology era. The program is recommended as a model for developing psychosocial and culture-based digital literacy in Indonesian educational institutions.

Abstract

The development of halal tourism in Sabang, Aceh, is a crucial strategy for increasing the appeal of Islamic-based tourism in Indonesia. Sabang boasts significant potential, thanks to its natural beauty, strong Islamic culture, and the implementation of sharia law, which supports the comfort of Muslim tourists. In the digital era, information and communication technology (ICT) plays a key role in expanding promotional reach, improving service quality, and strengthening the image of halal destinations. Through the use of social media, halal tourism apps, online reservation systems, and digital platforms for MSMEs, halal tourism in Sabang can be effectively promoted to both domestic and international tourists. This article aims to analyze the role of ICT in supporting halal tourism development in Sabang, using a community service approach through field observations, interviews, and digital training. The study results indicate that the integration of digital communication and information technology can increase local community participation, expand market access, and strengthen the halal tourism ecosystem. Thus, ICT serves not only as a promotional tool but also as an instrument for community empowerment and strengthening the local economy.

Abstract

The training on the independent development of varied worksheets for teachers at PAUD Prada Aulia aims to enhance teachers’ competencies in designing creative, contextual, and developmentally appropriate learning media for early childhood education. Worksheets serve as an important tool in supporting meaningful learning processes; however, many teachers still rely on ready-made teaching materials that are often not aligned with the specific needs of learners. This program employed several methods, including material presentation, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and mentoring in the development of varied worksheets. The results of the training indicate an improvement in teachers’ understanding and skills in creating innovative and engaging worksheets that are aligned with early childhood learning objectives. Furthermore, teachers became more independent and confident in developing their own instructional materials. This training is expected to have a positive impact on the quality of learning in early childhood education and to encourage teachers to continuously innovate in creating effective and enjoyable learning media.

Abstract

Literasi data merupakan kompetensi krusial bagi siswa di era informasi, terutama dalam memahami, menafsirkan, dan memanfaatkan data pada konteks kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun, kemampuan ini belum berkembang secara optimal, khususnya saat siswa dihadapkan pada permasalahan kontekstual yang memerlukan penalaran logis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi data siswa melalui penerapan pembelajaran berbasis soal PISA. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest terhadap 23 siswa. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank karena data tidak berdistribusi normal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05), di mana 100% siswa mengalami peningkatan skor. Selain itu, rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 79,7% yang berada pada kategori tinggi mengonfirmasi bahwa peningkatan literasi data siswa berlangsung secara signifikan. Temuan ini menyimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis soal PISA efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi data siswa, di mana penggunaan konteks nyata terbukti membantu siswa dalam memahami informasi, menafsirkan data, serta menarik kesimpulan secara lebih logis dan sistematis.

Abstract

Bencana alam yang terjadi di Nagari Tambangan, Kabupaten Tanah Datar, menimbulkan kerusakan lahan produktif dan melemahkan aktivitas ekonomi Masyarakat. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan melakukan restorasi lahan sekaligus revitalisasi ekonomi lokal melalui pendekatan pemberdayaan Masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan Pembangunan Masyarakat yang berfokus pada asset, potensi, dan kekuatan yang sudah dimiliki komunitas, bukan pada kekurangan atau masalahnya. Pendekatan ini menempatkan masyarakat sebagai aktor utama pembangunan dengan memanfaatkan potensi internal seperti keterampilan individu, jaringan sosial, dan sumber daya lokal. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui tahapan identifikasi masalah, pemetaan aset lokal, perencanaan partisipatif, implementasi restorasi lahan, pelatihan kewirausahaan, serta evaluasi dampak. Hasil pengabdian ini adalah kegiatan restorasi lahan dilakukan melalui penerapan sistem pertanian adaptif berbasis polybag dan pemanfaatan biomassa lokal sebagai media tanam alternatif pada lahan yang tertutup pasir akibat bencana. Pembangunan demo plot menjadi model percontohan yang dapat direplikasi oleh masyarakat. Selain itu, pemasangan sandbag barrier turut mendukung upaya perlindungan lahan dari potensi kerusakan lanjutan. Revitalisasi ekonomi lokal diwujudkan melalui pelatihan budidaya tanaman cepat panen, pengolahan hasil pertanian bernilai tambah, manajemen usaha sederhana, serta pemasaran digital. Kegiatan ini meningkatkan kapasitas Kelompok Tani Mudiak Aie dan Kelompok PKK Mudiak Aie dalam mengelola usaha secara lebih mandiri dan produktif. Secara umum, program memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan produktivitas, partisipasi masyarakat, serta penguatan ketahanan ekonomi pascabencana di Nagari Tambangan.

Abstract

Pencegahan penularan tuberkulosis pada usia remaja perlu dilakukan karena kasus Tuberkulosis  bisa terjadi pada usia  remaja,  sekitar 12% dari semua pasien tuberkulosis (TB) di seluruh dunia adalah anak-anak dan remaja muda. Tujuan pengabdian ini yaitu  untuk mengukur sejauh mana remaja paham dan peka dengan cara mencegah tertular dari Tuberkulosis pada remaja.  Metode pelaksanaan  dengan memberikan penyuluhan tentang tuberkulosis. dengan sasaran kegiatan ini adalah remaja usia sekolah menengah atas atau SMA, di Kabupaten Boyolali, Jawa Tengah. Penyuluhan akan dilaksanakan secara luring dengan media power point, video berisi edukasi tentang tuberkulosis dan tanya jawab. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa peserta penyuluhan berjumlah 30 siswa terdiri dari kelas X dan kelas XI, dengan jenis kelamin perempuan 50% dan laki-laki 50%. Pengukuran pengetahuan  peserta dengan  pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan hasil bahwa  rata-rata nilai pre-test sebesar 24,35 lebih kecil dibandingkan nilai pos-test sebesar 24,7 . Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan secara interaktif mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta dalam pencegahan penularan penyakit tuberkulosis.  Pangabdian masyarakat ini diharapkan ada kelanjutan dari pengabdian masyarakat perlu dilakukan dengan menjangkau peserta lebih banyak dan materi yang lebih menarik serta melibatkan instansi lain.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the digital competence of elementary school teachers in the southern peripheral area of Jember Regency through context-based ICT learning assistance. A total of 30 teachers from three elementary schools participated in the program. Teachers in peripheral areas often face limited digital infrastructure, minimal training opportunities, and low confidence in using technology for instructional purposes. This program applied a participatory mentoring model consisting of digital literacy workshops, guided practice, classroom implementation, and reflective evaluation. Data were collected using observation sheets, competency questionnaires, and documentation of teachers' digital learning products. The results indicate a substantial improvement in teachers' digital competence across all indicators: fundamental digital literacy increased by 40 percentage points (from 45% to 85%), learning management system integration improved by 42 percentage points (from 38% to 80%), and interactive digital media development rose by 48 percentage points (from 30% to 78%). The novelty of this program lies in the integration of contextual mentoring, peer collaboration, and locally adaptive digital tools tailored to peripheral school conditions. The program produced tangible outputs, including teacher-created digital learning media, instructional modules, and increased readiness to implement blended learning. This community service contributes to strengthening teacher professionalism and reducing the digital divide in elementary education within peripheral regions.
