Abstract

Tritech Informatics Vocational High School (SMK) Medan is a school located on Jalan Bayangkara Medan. The library administration implemented at Tritech Informatics Vocational School in Medan currently still applies conventional procedures. Digital libraries are economically more profitable than traditional libraries. This is because the existence of a digital library is able to share library book collections and makes it easier to find the book information needed and is able to facilitate services in the process of borrowing and returning books as well as making monthly reports. But there is also the most important thing, namely how library members or the public can immediately read books without having to borrow them, thereby making time and space more efficient because members don't have to worry about delays in returning books. With fliphtml and digital library web training, it will provide many conveniences for library staff. Apart from that, it also creates a systemized digital library so that there is no more loss or errors in storage or delays in returning physically borrowed books. It is hoped that this will help activities at the Medan Tritech Informatics Vocational School. This system training is very useful for ebooks that are still stored in school storage media and cannot be used until now.

Abstract

The disparity in the quality of Social Studies (IPS) education at SD Muhammadiyah Merauke is caused by the lack of teacher competence in contextual teaching methods, limited training, and insufficient facilities and government support. The purpose of this service is to enhance teachers' competencies in applying contextual and innovative Social Studies (IPS) teaching methods at SD Muhammadiyah Merauke. The implementation method was carried out in structured stages, starting with coordination with the school and local government. The workshop was conducted with lectures and hands-on practice to provide teachers with an understanding of the application of basic concepts of Social Education Science. (IPS). This activity took place at SD Muhammadiyah Merauke from October 10-15, 2024, with 10 teacher participants. After the workshop, a discussion was held to find solutions to the problems faced by teachers, such as limited facilities and low competence in contextual learning methods. The results of the community service conducted in the form of a workshop at SD Muhammadiyah Merauke successfully addressed several obstacles faced by teachers in implementing contextual and innovative learning. Through this workshop, teachers were provided training to enhance their competence in connecting Social Science Education (IPS) material with the context of students' daily lives. The participation of 10 teachers in this activity demonstrates enthusiasm for improving the quality of teaching. Although challenges related to facilities and understanding of local culture still exist, the success of this workshop demonstrates that proper training can have a positive impact on how teachers deliver material and enhance students' critical thinking skills. The conclusion of this service is that training and facility support are important for the implementation of contextual learning methods. Support from schools, the government, and the community is essential for the optimal implementation of teaching innovations.

Abstract

This community service aims to improve the UI/UX design skills of 11th grade Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) students at SMKN 3 Bangkalan, with a focus on training in the use of Figma design applications. The rapid development of digital technology demands design skills that are relevant to industry needs, one of which is in the field of UI/UX, which is key in creating effective and easy-to-use applications and websites. Based on initial observations, SMKN 3 Bangkalan students have a basic understanding of design software, but have not mastered the use of popular industrial design tools such as Figma. The methods applied in this service include preparation, implementation, and evaluation, with materials that include an introduction to UI/UX concepts, the use of Figma, and interface design practices. The workshop was attended by 31 students who showed high enthusiasm, and as a result students were able to create a landing page design that illustrated an understanding of UI/UX principles. In addition to improving technical skills, this activity also opens students' insights regarding career opportunities in the field of digital design. The results of this service are expected to prepare students to face the demands of the world of work and industrial development.

Abstract

The limited access to marketing for local products in Lonuo Village and the use of less effective conventional methods to reach a broader market prompted the community service team to design a program aimed at empowering the local economy through the development of digital marketing and website-based e-commerce. The methods employed included awareness-raising, training, and the utilization of a website designed by the service team.  This activity was attended by 17 participants, consisting of local business owners and members of the Lonuo Village community. The results of the activities revealed high enthusiasm among participants, who demonstrated the ability to understand digital marketing strategies. This program not only improved the community's understanding of digital marketing but also provided a platform to expand the market for local products. Furthermore, the program opened up opportunities for further development to ensure its sustainability.

Abstract

The lack of understanding of makharijul huruf and tajwid among students at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Misbahus Sudur affects the quality of Quranic recitation. The issue includes errors in pronouncing Hijaiyah letters and improper application of tajwid rules. The objective of this Community Service Program (PkM) is to enhance students' Quranic reading skills through the talaqqi method, which involves direct face-to-face teaching between teacher and student. The training was attended by 16 students and conducted three times a week, with additional practice sessions on other days. The materials covered included the introduction of Hijaiyah letters, makharijul huruf, and tajwid rules, delivered through direct practice and repetitive drills. The results showed significant improvement, with 90% of students able to pronounce Hijaiyah letters correctly and 85% of students successfully applying basic tajwid rules in their Quranic recitation. However, challenges remain in the form of limited availability of qualified teachers. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of integrating makharijul huruf and tajwid learning into the madrasah curriculum and calls for further support from relevant stakeholders to address the shortage of trained teachers. With the right approach, students are expected to read the Quran more accurately and correctly according to tajwid principles.

Abstract

Illegal investment is a serious threat to the financial stability of society, especially in the increasingly complex digital era. The lack of financial education and literacy and the high temptation of large returns often make people victims of illegal investment. This article aims to educate the public in recognizing the characteristics of illegal investment and steps to avoid it as well to prevent illegal investment. The methods applied are by conducting community-based education and counseling, disseminating information through social media, and simulating real cases as a learning tool. This financial education and literacy were implemented in community groups, moms, and youth groups as 50 participants. The results of the education showed an increase in participants' understanding of the characteristics of illegal investment, such as promises of unreasonable profits, lack of legality, and minimal transparency. In addition as 80% of participants admitted to being more confident in evaluating investment after participating in this financial education and literacy, while 75% of participants stated that they were able to prepare wiser financial plans. These findings confirm that proper financial education and literacy can be an effective preventive measure in preventing losses due to fictitious investments, while supporting the creation of sustainable financial security at the individual and community. The conclusion of financial education and literacy illegal investments shows that comprehensive and interactive education can effectively and prevent of fictitious investments. Continuous financial education and literacy are very important to support the financial security and create a community that is more aware of investments.

Abstract

The community service project aimed to assist Pempek Madam Jambi, a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) in Jambi specializing in authentic Jambi-style pempek. The project addressed marketing and promotion challenges, as the MSME previously relied solely on Instagram and WhatsApp for sales and visibility. The initiative involved creating a website to serve as a marketing, promotional, and informational platform. The development process began with a needs analysis conducted through interviews with the business owner, followed by designing wireframes using Figma, website development via Canva Web, testing, and publishing the website. The website includes features such as a homepage, about us, menu listing, ordering platform, FAQ, articles, and SEO components to enhance product visibility. As a direct outcome, the website significantly improved the business’s digital presence and customer engagement. The project also conducted training involving five participants, including students, on digital marketing and website maintenance, enabling the MSME to sustain the platform independently. The initiative demonstrated a measurable impact, as online visibility increased by 87%, as indicated by user satisfaction feedback during website testing. This project serves as a scalable model for other MSMEs in Jambi, contributing to the broader agenda of MSME digital transformation in Indonesia.

Abstract

The current and future job market requires a workforce skilled in data science, including analytical techniques such as clustering. With the development of Industry 4.0, skills in data analysis are becoming increasingly important, and education must adapt to meet this need. Currently, there are still many students at the vocational high school level who do not understand the concept of data science, including clustering techniques, so they have difficulty understanding how data can be generated for decision making from each scheme. The method that can be used in this Community Service is an introduction to the basic concepts of data science and simple training in the use of simple data science tools. The goal that can be raised for the Community Service that we do is to provide students with a basic understanding of what data science is as one method for making important data decisions. The contribution that can be generated from the Community Service that we do is that students will have basic skills in knowledge related to data science, especially in understanding and applying clustering techniques for data analysis. The result of the Community Service that we do is that students understand the basic concepts of data science and clustering and how this method is applied in the analysis of the data obtained.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology has influenced various aspects of education, including data management in schools. One of the key aspects of vocational education is efficient data processing to support administrative and academic activities. This community service program was conducted to provide students of SMK Swasta Nur Azizi with knowledge and skills in utilizing MySQL as a database management system for data processing. MySQL was chosen for its capability to efficiently manage and process data, making it highly relevant to industry needs. This program employed a qualitative approach with a case study method, focusing on the implementation of MySQL in student data processing. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation to analyze the effectiveness of MySQL in school operations. The activities included socialization sessions covering theoretical explanations of MySQL fundamentals, software installation, and hands-on practice in database creation and SQL queries. The results of this program indicate that students were able to understand the basic concepts of MySQL, create databases and tables, and process data using fundamental SQL commands such as SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE. Thus, this initiative is expected to enhance students' data processing skills, enabling them to apply these competencies in various fields and strengthen their qualifications in the job market.

Abstract

Rapid technological developments, AI offers innovative solutions to support the teaching and learning process, allowing students to learn independently and adaptively according to their individual needs. Community service activities utilizing artificial intelligence to improve independent learning have proven their effectiveness in improving the quality of education. Through an interactive approach, participants are invited to understand the basic concepts of AI and its applications in the context of education, such as creating teaching materials, quizzes, and learning evaluations. This activity not only aims to increase knowledge about AI, but also to develop students' skills in using the technology wisely. With this activity, students can be more independent in their learning process and are ready to face challenges in the era of digitalization of education. This activity also provides recommendations for improving infrastructure and ongoing training for students and educators so that the use of AI can be more optimal in the future. The results of this activity show that students at SMKN 9 Medan have known and utilized AI in their learning activities with a high level of satisfaction.
