Abstract

This study systematically reviews the development of Agentic AI as digital frontline systems within service-based organizations. The increasing adoption of artificial intelligence in organizational environments has accelerated the implementation of conversational systems capable of supporting consultation workflows, operational communication, and information delivery processes. However, conventional chatbot systems still experience limitations related to contextual understanding, reasoning capability, and multi-step task execution. To address these limitations, recent studies increasingly integrate Agentic AI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to support more adaptive and context-aware conversational systems. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach following the PRISMA guidelines. Literature selection was conducted using several academic databases, including Scopus, IEEE Xplore, ACM Digital Library, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. After the screening and eligibility process, 61 articles published between 2020 and 2026 were selected for final review and analyzed using thematic synthesis. The findings identified three dominant research themes consisting of Agentic AI architectures and autonomous systems, Retrieval-Augmented Generation and conversational intelligence, and deployment of Agentic AI in digital frontline systems. The review demonstrates that Agentic AI integrated with retrieval-enhanced conversational mechanisms has strong potential to support contextual interaction, consultation workflows, and organizational communication processes within service-based environments. Nevertheless, several challenges remain related to hallucination, governance, trustworthiness, evaluation reliability, and real-world deployment complexity.

Abstract

Newly established B2B road freight transport companies in Indonesia face a critical credibility gap due to the absence of digital presence, limiting their ability to build initial brand trust with potential clients in an increasingly competitive market projected to reach USD 72.25 billion by 2030. This study aims to develop a website for CV. RR Jaya Transindo, a newly established B2B road freight transport company based in Mojokerto, East Java, and to assess user’s perceptions of brand trust based on their interaction with the developed website. A Research and Development (R&D) approach was adopted, applying the SDLC Prototyping model by Pressman and Maxim (2020) through five iterative phases: communication, quick plan, modeling quick design, construction of prototype, and deployment, delivery, and feedback. The website was developed using WordPress CMS with UML-based system modeling. Black-box testing across 31 test cases yielded a cumulative effectiveness score of 100%, confirming full functional conformity. Brand trust was evaluated through a quantitative survey adapted from Mal and Davies (2023) administered to 50 potential B2B clients across East, Central, and West Java. Results produced an overall mean score of 4.44, categorized as very high brand trust, indicating that the website effectively establishes a strong initial trust impression. This study demonstrates that iterative, user-feedback-driven development through SDLC Prototyping produces technically reliable systems capable of supporting initial brand trust formation in B2B road freight transport services.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of power distance on the communication effectiveness of Indonesian migrant workers in international multicultural workplaces. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey design. Data were collected through online questionnaires distributed to Indonesian workers who had experience working abroad. A total of 107 responses were obtained, and after outlier screening using the Z-score method, 101 valid responses were analyzed. The research instruments were tested using validity and reliability tests, showing that all items were valid and reliable with Cronbach’s Alpha values above 0.70. Because the data did not fully meet the normality assumption, hypothesis testing was conducted using the bootstrap method with 1000 resampling iterations. The results showed that power distance had a negative but statistically insignificant effect on communication effectiveness, with a regression coefficient value of -0.047 and a significance value of 0.211 (>0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) value was 0.011, indicating that power distance explained only 1.1% of communication effectiveness, while the remaining 98.9% was influenced by other factors outside the study. Therefore, it can be concluded that power distance is not a major factor affecting the communication effectiveness of Indonesian workers abroad.

Abstract

Transnational mobility has become an increasingly defining feature of contemporary higher education and professional life, yet the identity experiences of individuals who traverse multiple national and cultural contexts remain insufficiently understood, particularly within the Southeast Asian region. This study examines how transnational educational mobility shapes identity formation among individuals who have crossed national borders for education and subsequently returned to their country of origin or professional base. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with four participants: two Indonesian nationals who completed their education in Indonesia before relocating to work in Singapore, and two Indonesian academics who pursued postgraduate education abroad before returning to teaching positions in Indonesia. Drawing on the Transnational-Transcultural Self-Formation and Belonging (TTSB) framework, thematic analysis identified four primary themes: (1) identity negotiation between dual cultural affiliations, (2) linguistic challenges and their relationship to belonging, (3) professional identity transformation following return, and (4) adaptive strategies for cultural identity reconstruction. Findings suggest that returnees consistently inhabit an "in-between" identity space, neither fully identifying with their country of origin nor their country of study, and that this liminality simultaneously poses challenges and confers professional advantages. The study contributes to cross-cultural management literature by foregrounding underrepresented Southeast Asian returnee perspectives and offers practical implications for educational institutions and organisations managing internationally mobile talent. These findings underscore the urgency of designing culturally responsive support systems that recognise plural identity repertoires as legitimate professional competencies.
