Abstract

This study aims to examine the empowerment of Kenjeran coastal fishermen by the Surabaya City DKPP in developing fishery areas. The background of this writing is that several fishermen empowerment programs carried out by the City Government of Surabaya have not run optimally. This is further exacerbated by conditions of limited accessibility and other social tensions. This study refers to the theory of Mardikanto & Soebianto (2017:111-112) in which there are 9 (nine) indicators of community empowerment, namely 1) improving education, 2) improving accessibility, 3) improving actions, 4) institutional improvement, 5) business improvement, 6) income improvement, 7) environmental improvement, 8) life improvement, and 9) community improvement. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the empowerment that has been carried out by DKPP Kota Surabaya in developing regional fisheries in the empowerment process that has been carried out has been considered quite successful, being able to increase the catch of fishermen so that it is very helpful for fishermen and can improve the welfare of fishermen in general even though in practice there are still deficiencies.

Abstract

Below the line media is promotional media that is active in nature, this media interacts directly with consumers because of its nature which makes it easier for consumers to immediately absorb the message conveyed. Transportation as a medium of communication is a form of change over time. This problem goes hand in hand with the emergence of new media, media with a smaller scope such as Below The Line Media which allows very specific target audience segmentation. Promotional media is divided into two types, namely Above The Line and Below The Line. Above the Line is promotional media which is carried out usually using television, radio, print media, billboards, etc. Below the line media is promotional media which is active in nature, this media interacts directly with consumers. The aim of this research is to find out how Below the Line media is implemented at the Palembang LRT (Light Rail Transit) Station. This research was conducted using qualitative with a descriptive approach, where qualitative research can be interpreted as research that uses data that is objective and appropriate to the existing problems. Bellow the Line media at the station for LRT users is actually effective for LRT service users, for example LRT service users see the existing promotional X-banners and are interested, but for people who have not used the LRT it is actually less effective. And for the protection of women on the LRT, I think it is safe and comfortable considering that at every station there are waiting seats specifically for mothers, pregnant women and the elderly, and in the carriages, there are also seats specifically for pregnant women, the elderly and disabled, and in The trains also have security on duty so that LRT service users feel safe. Below the line media is an important part in introducing a product or service to users and consumers. Optimizing below the line media in an effort to protect women on the Palembang LRT. The use of below the line media in the LRT station environment is optimal for Palembang LRT service users, however for a wider reach, other media are needed to help optimize Below The Line Media, and to ensure security in the LRT area, considering that at each station there are always officers ready to help, and security to maintain security around the LRT station area.

Abstract

This research discusses the implementation of the role-play method in enhancing Arabic language speaking skills in Islamic schools in Indonesia. The role-play method is a creative activity in which participants assume fictional character roles and engage in a simulated environment or scenario. However, there are several challenges and constraints in its implementation, such as time limitations, students' limited understanding of the Arabic language, and adjustments to the learning schedule. Therefore, efforts to improve the effectiveness of this method require changes in the allocation of learning time and an approach that focuses on understanding the students' needs. The role-play method offers several advantages in an educational context, such as providing practical experiences to participants, enhancing speaking and communication skills, developing social skills, understanding different perspectives, and increasing motivation and engagement. However, this method also has some disadvantages, including participant fear and nervousness, the need for additional time in the learning process, resource limitations, and subjective assessment. Educators and students need to carefully consider the pros and cons of this method before implementing it.

Abstract

The phenomenon of feminine men's communication styles in society has resulted in changes in values that have received attention. This research aims to determine the social construction and actions of the people of Bengkulu city towards feminine men's communication styles using Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann's Social Reality Construction Theory which includes three dialectical moments, namely externalization, objectivation and internalization. The results of this research are divided into three dialectical moments. First, the moment of externalization of informants who have circles and those who do not have circles with feminine men tend to stigmatize the communication style of feminine men like women, and is considered deviant behavior which is feared that there will be sexual deviations such as LGBT. Second, the moment of objectification of informants who have a circle and who do not have a circle with feminine men see the communication style of feminine men as a character in which the traits, attitudes and behavior shown in the form of self-presentation such as gentle and graceful demeanor, less manly, so considered weak men. Third, the moment of internalization of informants who have circles and those who do not have circles with feminine men consider that feminine men are good, friendly, pleasant individuals, good public speaking, expressive, confident, and tend to be the center of attention. The social construction of communities that have or do not have circles with feminine men assesses the communication style of feminine men as the character, traits, attitudes and behavior shown by certain individuals as a form of self-presentation which is considered positive and also negative. The social behavior of people who have or do not have circles with feminine men are open and can accept the communication style of feminine men but still limit their social interactions, interactions and communication for fear of deviation.
