Abstract

This research was conducted in Pedurungan District against the background of the phenomenon of inappropriate child care. This research aims to examine and describe childcare by socio-economically vulnerable women in Pedurungan District, Semarang City, which is studied through the aspects of parental responsiveness and parental demandingness. The method used in this research is a case study with a qualitative approach. The primary data source for this research is data obtained by researchers through interviews and observations, while the secondary data source for this research was obtained through documentation studies and other documents relevant to the research topic. The informants for this research are socio-economically vulnerable women in Pedurungan District who have 7 dependent children and 7 people in the PRSE neighborhood. Checking the validity of the data in this research uses credibility, transferability, dependability and confirmability. The research results show that there are still problems in fulfilling the emotional needs between a caregiver (PRSE) and a child which is caused by PRSE's lack of knowledge about parenting and PRSE's lack of skills in managing emotions. The results of this research indicate that there is a need for education and counseling regarding parenting and developing PRSE emotion management skills. Based on the results of this research, the researchers designed a program, namely a program called Sinar Cerah using the Social Group Work method.

Abstract

Efikasi diri merupakan keyakinan seseorang akan kemampuannya untuk melakukan suatu bentuk kontrol terhadap diri sendiri dan kejadian dilingkungannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk keyakinan responden dalam menghadapi berbagai tingkat kesulitan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan dasar keluarga. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang diisi oleh 20 orang responden yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa mantan warga binaan pemasyarakatan di Desa Sindangsari, Kabupaten Garut memiliki rasa kurang yakin dalam menjalankan tugas untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dasar keluarga. Rasa kurang yakin tersebut mencerminkan bahwa efikasi diri pada mantan warga binaan pemasyarakatan tergolong rendah dari setiap aspek efikasi diri, yaitu berdasarkan aspek tingkat (level) yaitu keyakinan responden dalam menghadapi berbagai tingkat kesulitan, kemudian aspek kekuatan (strength) yaitu keyakinan responden mengenai kekuatannya dalam melaksanakan tugas, serta aspek generalisasi (generality) yaitu keyakinan responden akan kemampuannya dalam melaksanakan tugas diberbagai aktifitas, dari ketiga aspek tersebut, skor menunjukan bahwa efikasi diri yang dimiliki mantan warga binaan pemasyarakatan tersebut rendah. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian diperlukan program pengembangan softskill pada mantan warga binaan pemasyarakatan agar meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan memiliki keyakinan dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar keluarga.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the patterns of topic and field selection in undergraduate social work students’ theses in Indonesia. Using descriptive method, a total of 262 thesis titles from the 2024/2025 academic year were categorized into 14 specialized study fields. Additionally, qualitative data were gathered from 61 students via questionnaires to explore their reasons for topic selection, suggestions on subject-specific courses, and experiences in thesis supervision. The findings reveal that child-related social work is the most preferred field (41.4%), followed by poverty, aging, disability, and education. Key factors influencing topic choice include personal interest, practical experience, ease of data access, and social relevance. However, topic repetition and limited exploration of novel research ideas are still common. These findings highlight the need for curriculum review, improved field placement systems, and more contextual supervision strategies to support the diversification and originality of student research. This study offers practical input for curriculum development, thesis supervision planning, and the formulation of a research roadmap aligned with contemporary social issues.

Abstract

Penerimaan diri merupakan hal yang sulit dihadapi oleh orang dengan HIV/AIDS (ODHA), karena adanya stigma dan diskriminasi sehingga menutup diri. Penerimaan diri merupakan sikap pengakuan dan pemahaman tentang diri sendiri atas keterbatasan yang dimiliki serta kemampuan dalam pengakuan kekuatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran secara empiris tentang: 1) karakteristik responden, 2) kerelaan kepada orang lain, 3) kesehatan psikologis, 4) penerimaan terhadap orang lain. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan deskriptif. Teknik penarikan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik total sampling atau sensus dengan jumlah 75 responden. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner dan studi dokumentasi. Uji validasi alat ukur menggunakan validasi muka (face validity). Instrumen penelitian menggunakan rating scale. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada aspek kerelaan terhadap orang lain termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Aspek kesehatan psikologis juga termasuk dalam kategori rendah, sedangkan aspek penerimaan terhadap orang lain termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Hasil akhir dari tingkat penerimaan diri ODHA di KDS “Smile Plus” Kabupaten Temanggung termasuk dalam kategori rendah, terdapat 63 responden (84%) dengan penerimaan diri yang rendah dan hanya 12 responden (16%) dengan tingkat penerimaan dirinya yang tinggi. ODHA belum mampu menerima dirinya sebagai orang yang terinfeksi HIV/AIDS. Selain itu, ODHA belum rela dan kurang percaya diri untuk membuka status dirinya

Abstract

Satisfaction is defined as the comparison between expectations and an individual’s perception of the service performance received. In the context of social services, the satisfaction of Beneficiary Families (Keluarga Penerima Manfaat/KPM) with the Family Hope Program (Program Keluarga Harapan/PKH) serves as a key indicator of the program’s effectiveness. This study aims to provide an empirical overview of the level of satisfaction among KPM regarding the quality of PKH services in Antapani Wetan Subdistrict, Bandung City.This research is grounded in the concept of service quality, which includes five main dimensions: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, along with an additional dimension—beneficiaries' expectations. The study employs a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires and document analysis. A total of 180 registered PKH beneficiary families were selected as respondents. The measurement scale used was Likert, with face validity for validity testing and Cronbach’s Alpha for reliability testing.The findings show that overall satisfaction among KPM is categorized as very satisfactory, with a total score of 19,934. Each service quality dimension also falls under the "very satisfactory" category: tangibles (3.184), reliability (3.819), responsiveness (3.155), assurance (3.767), empathy (3.673), while the expectation dimension is rated as "satisfactory" with a score of 2.336. Based on the analysis of the issues and needs in the field, the researcher proposes a follow-up program entitled "Technical Guidance for PKH Facilitators on the Technical Guidelines for the Graduation of PKH Beneficiaries" to improve service quality sustainably

Abstract

This research background is stem from the issue that social worker faced in this globalization era. In this modern era, social worker is playing a vital role in supporting individual and group in-need such child and elderly care in their work. To fully support is role in society, a social worker must know the challenges it faced, especially in child and elderly social work, but there is a scarcity in research to understand social worker issue faced. The research trend analysis in child and elderly social work needed to understand the need that the social worker must prepared in the future. The purposes of this research is to analyse the trend to shows the challenge social worker faces in the child and elderly social worker in the field, both in national level and international level. This research uses analytical approach on 30 accredited national and international research journal on child and elderly care. This research result shows the topic that becoming a trend on child and elderly care research journal in 2020-2023 such as child exploitation, child abuse, child with disability, child trouble with law, child education,technology on child care support, elderly health, neglected elderly, elderly skill training, and the development on elderly support care. The trend shows that the trend research in child care is dominant than the others, which is child abuses and child education. In other note, trend on elderly care show that elderly health support and technological advancement in elderly support being a dominant research trend on elderly care research journal. This show a lack of research on social work theme, especially on child and elderly social work. As such, this research recommend that a further research on trend in child and elderly care research is necessary to better understand the issue that social worker faced in the modern era. Abstract

The circulation of drugs (Narcotics, Psychotropic and Addictive Substances) in Indonesia is quite high. Jayapura City, which is the capital of Papua province, is one of the areas that has included an emergency level with a very alarming level of use and circulation, the majority of dealers get marijuana from Papua New Guinea which borders Jayapura City. In addition, the rise of alcohol among Papuan people who are consumed not only adults but also children. The stages of this research begin with the stages of field observation, interviews and documentation studies at the YP2MP institution. The data obtained is then analyzed descriptively using a qualitative approach, YP2MP social institutions in Jayapura City which are engaged in social rehabilitation services for Nazpa users provide services in three areas, namely Jayapura city, Jayapura district and Keerom district, including services inside and outside the institution in assisting victims of drug abusers so that they are able to recover and function socially.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain an in-depth understanding of; 1) the implementation process of vocational training to achieve the independence of children in conflict with the law, including emotional, behavioral, and value-based independence; 2) supporting factors; and 3) challenges encountered during the vocational training process. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data sources were selected using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews with five informants, comprising two children in conflict with the law, one social worker, and two vocational training instructors, field observations and document studies. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that vocational training can serve to achieve independence and develop emotional, behavioral, and value-based independence in children in conflict with the law through the involvement of instructors and social workers, the process of independence formation, and strategies used by instructors to train independence. Factors supporting this process include the children's internal motivation, environment, parenting styles, and education. Challenges faced include children’s inconsistency in choosing training programs, lack of enthusiasm during training, and limited ability to adapt to productive activity routines.
