Abstract

This study examines the protection of privacy as an individual right in Islam and its application in the digital age, using a qualitative method based on a literature review. This study analyses Islamic teachings alongside contemporary digital issues to understand how Islamic values can address privacy challenges in the modern era. The findings indicate that Islam places great emphasis on privacy protection through ethical principles such as the prohibition of spying (tajassus), upholding human dignity, respecting personal boundaries, and promoting ethical communication. In the digital age, these principles remain highly relevant in addressing issues such as the misuse of personal data, cybercrime, online fraud and the unethical dissemination of information. This study also highlights the importance of strengthening digital literacy grounded in Islamic values to encourage responsible, mutually respectful, and ethical behaviour in online interactions. Overall, the study concludes that Islamic teachings provide an important ethical foundation for protecting privacy and helping to create a safer, wiser, and more harmonious digital environment for society.

Abstract

This study discusses the internship practices of Islamic vocational high school students as a space for the formation of work habitus, professional ethics, and the internalization of religious values. The research problem arises from industrial demands emphasizing punctuality, compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), workplace communication, occupational safety, and responsibility, while Islamic schools simultaneously equip students with adab (proper conduct), discipline, and religious values. The purpose of this study is to explain the empirical practices of internships, the social relations supporting the learning process in industry, and the implications of religious education for Islamic vocational school students. This study employed a qualitative approach through an internship experience study. Data were collected through observations, interviews with principals, supervising teachers, industry representatives, students, and documentation. The findings reveal that students learned to adapt to the rhythm of industrial work, faced challenges due to differences in facilities and vehicle types, received direct guidance from industry mentors, and demonstrated behavioral changes toward greater discipline, responsibility, and communicative ability. Supervising teachers emphasized trustworthiness, honesty, discipline, and maintaining the school’s reputation, while internship experiences transformed students’ understanding of the relationship between religion, work, and their professional future. These findings indicate that internships are not merely job placements but also social processes that shape work habitus through direct industrial experience integrated with religious ethical values.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital media has fundamentally transformed the social landscape in which adolescents grow up, raising serious concerns about its impact on character formation. Adolescence is a pivotal phase of identity development, moral reasoning, and value internalization. However, the unrestricted penetration of digital content from social media platforms to streaming services has been shown to erode religious values, weaken social bonds, and encourage hedonistic behavior among youth. This study aims to analyze the impacts of digital media development on the character of adolescents from an Islamic perspective, using a qualitative library research (studi pustaka) method. Data were gathered from scientific journals, Islamic primary sources (the Qur'an and Hadith), and contemporary research publications from 2015 to 2025. The findings indicate that digital media carries a dual nature: it can be a powerful tool for Islamic education and moral reinforcement, yet simultaneously poses grave threats to adolescent spirituality, social behavior, and intellectual integrity. The study recommends that Islamic education institutions, families, and policymakers work collaboratively to build a framework of digital akhlak grounded in Maqashid al-Shariah principles protecting religion (hifdz al-din), life (hifdz al-nafs), intellect (hifdz al-'aql), lineage (hifdz al-nasl), and property (hifdz al-mal) as a guiding ethical compass for adolescents navigating the digital age.

Abstract

This project aims to enhance students' learning outcomes in Tajwid (Quran recitation) by using a demonstration technique for Grade 5 at SDN Pasirkamuning I during the 2025/2026 academic year. The used approach was action research (PTK), grounded on the Kemmis and McTaggart framework, including the phases of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research was carried out across two cycles involving 28 fifth-grade pupils. Data were gathered using both qualitative and quantitative descriptive methodologies. The results demonstrate that the demonstrative style was helpful in enhancing student engagement in Tajwid courses. Students exhibited heightened engagement, enhanced self-assurance, and improved comprehension of the rules governing the reading of “nun mati” and “tanwin” via direct recitation of the Quran. The average score in the first cycle was 80, accompanied by a success rate of 81%. During the second cycle, there was an improvement in student engagement and comprehension of Tajwid content, despite a success rate of 77%. The presentation approach provides a more experiential learning opportunity, facilitating students' comprehension of abstract subjects. This method enables instructors to cultivate a more interactive and stimulating learning atmosphere. Consequently, the demonstrative method may provide as a successful tool for enhancing children's Tajwid learning results in primary education.

Abstract

The emergence of social media promotes interaction and sharing of information, however, it also heightens the potential for breaches and the inappropriate use of personal information. This research intends to investigate how maqashid sharia can be applied to safeguard the personal data of social media users, serving as an ethical and religious underpinning in today’s digital landscape. From a theoretical perspective, this research situates the protection of personal data within the context of positive law and maqashid sharia principles, particularly hifz al-nafs, hifz al-‘aql, and hifz al-mal, which prioritize the protection of life, intellect, and property against digital threats. The research employs a qualitative methodology through literature-based analysis involving documentation, which is then evaluated descriptively and analytically in relation to pertinent literature, regulations, and academic articles. Findings indicate that the implementation of maqashid sharia is pertinent to enhancing awareness regarding digital privacy, fostering user vigilance when sharing personal information, and advocating for the accountability and openness of digital platforms. Therefore, maqashid sharia serves as an ethical foundation for ensuring that social media usage is safe, principled, and focused on benefiting society.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought various changes to the lives of adolescents, including religious aspects. Easy access to social media and various forms of digital entertainment can affect adolescents' motivation to practice religious worship if not balanced with appropriate supervision and guidance. This study aims to determine the role of families in overcoming the decline in religious motivation in adolescents in the digital era. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research subjects consisted of one parent and one adolescent selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study were obtained through the instillation of religious values, providing advice, habituating worship, and parental role models. In addition, good communication and a religious atmosphere within the family also support the growth of religious awareness in adolescents. This study also found that digital media has both positive and negative influences on adolescents' religious lives. Therefore, family guidance is needed so that technology can be used wisely and support adolescents' religious development. The research findings indicate that family involvement is a crucial factor in shaping and maintaining adolescents' religious motivation amidst the challenges of the digital era.

Abstract

One of the primary goals of national education is character development, which must be achieved through the learning process in madrasahs. In this context, Islamic Religious Education (IRE) plays a crucial role in instilling moral, spiritual, and social values in students. However, the success of character development depends not only on the availability of IRE teaching materials but also on the quality of the curriculum and the effectiveness of its implementation. This article aims to evaluate the role of the Islamic Religious Education curriculum in madrasahs in enhancing student character through a literature review. The research method used is a literature review, which involves the collection and analysis of various scientific sources, including books, journal articles, and documents related to the IRE curriculum and character education. The study results indicate that the IRE curriculum integrates various character values—such as religiosity, honesty, discipline, responsibility, tolerance, and social concern—into its objectives, content, and learning activities. The implementation of the curriculum, supported by exemplary teacher behavior, madrasah culture, and religious habit-forming programs, contributes positively to students’ character development. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, including the lack of a comprehensive character evaluation system. character assessment, differences in students’ backgrounds, and the lack of optimal collaboration among schools, families, and communities. Therefore, continuous curriculum evaluation is necessary to ensure that the objectives of character education can be achieved effectively and sustainably within the madrasah environment.

Abstract

This study describes overthinking among Muslim adolescents from the perspective of was-was and analyzes its impact on spiritual well-being. The issue is important because repetitive negative thinking in adolescence may appear not only as psychological worry, but also as religious doubt, excessive fear of sin, and uneasiness in worship. This study used a qualitative descriptive design with a phenomenological orientation. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, simple observation, and field notes involving eight Muslim adolescents aged 15-18 years. Data analysis was conducted thematically through coding, theme grouping, interpretation, and source triangulation. The findings show that overthinking appears as repetitive thoughts about past mistakes, anxiety about the future, fear of disappointing parents, and doubt about the validity of worship. From the perspective of was-was, these experiences are reflected in repeated doubts about intention, ablution, prayer recitation, and whether worship is accepted by Allah. The impact on spiritual well-being includes reduced inner peace, disturbed concentration in worship, excessive guilt, and a temporary weakening of perceived closeness to Allah. The study implies the need for balanced religious guidance, family support, and spiritual counseling that helps adolescents distinguish carefulness in worship from excessive was-was.

Abstract

This study aims to explore ways of teaching Islamic Cultural History (SKI) to increase students' interest and understanding through the implementation of storytelling methods and the use of digital media at SDIT MTA Al-Furqon Karawang. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach, with SKI teachers as the main informants. The data collection process was carried out through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation studies. The findings of this study indicate that the storytelling method can enhance students' focus, enthusiasm, and understanding of Islamic history material, because the delivery of interesting and relevant stories helps students comprehend the course of events and the moral values contained within them. In addition, the use of digital media such as educational videos, YouTube, podcasts, and other audiovisual media supports students' understanding in a more visual and interactive way, as well as in accordance with the characteristics of students in today's digital era. Teachers also integrate teaching methods with discussions, educational games, role-playing, and drama to increase student engagement. Although there are some challenges such as the low interest of some students, difficulty in remembering historical material, and time constraints in the learning process, the strategies implemented have been proven capable of creating an active, enjoyable, and meaningful learning environment. Thus, the use of storytelling methods and digital media has been proven effective in improving the quality of SKI teaching as well as instilling moral values and student character.
