Abstract

Children with cancer face various physical, psychological, and social challenges that may affect their ability to find meaning in life. These challenges are often reflected in decreased motivation, feelings of hopelessness, and difficulties in accepting their condition. This study aimed to describe the level of meaningfulness of life among children with cancer before receiving group guidance services using the storytelling technique, explain the implementation process of the intervention, and identify changes in their sense of life meaning after the intervention. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study method conducted at Rumah Sehat Ceria YKASS. The participants consisted of five children diagnosed with cancer and other chronic illnesses. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques. The findings revealed that prior to the intervention, most participants demonstrated a low sense of life meaning, characterized by limited motivation, poor self-acceptance, and difficulties in interpreting their illness experiences positively. The group guidance service using the storytelling technique was implemented through six sessions involving inspirational storytelling, experience sharing, group discussions, and self-reflection activities. Through these activities, participants were provided with opportunities to express their feelings, build hope, and develop a more positive understanding of their lives. Following the intervention, participants showed positive changes, including increased motivation, greater optimism about the future, improved self-acceptance, enhanced emotional expression, and a more constructive outlook toward life despite their illness. These findings indicate that group guidance services using the storytelling technique can serve as an effective psychosocial intervention to foster a sense of meaning in life among children with cancer and other chronic illnesses, thereby supporting their psychological well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of decreasing water flow in the Kampar River on fish productivity and income from fish cage cultivation in Pulau Lawas Village. This study used a mixed methods research method combining qualitative and quantitative analysis. Water quality analysis showed a pH of 7.35, a temperature of 38.5°C, dissolved oxygen (DO) of 4 mg/L, and a depth of 2.5 m, which generally still supports fish cultivation activities, despite the relatively high temperature and DO approaching the minimum tolerance limit for fish. Cultivation activities have been ongoing for five years with seven active fish cages, a stocking density of 15,000 per cage, and a six-month maintenance period. The harvest under the current conditions of decreased river water flow is approximately 8,000 fish, with a total weight of approximately 1 ton per cage, resulting in a survival rate (SR) of 53.3%. From an economic perspective, the operational cost of cultivation is Rp24,300,000 per period/cage, and the value of fish sales is Rp28,000,000, resulting in a net profit of around Rp4,000,000 per cage. The interview results show that seasonal changes, both dry and rainy, do not have a significant impact on productivity and business income, so it can be concluded that the decrease in water discharge of the Kampar River has not had a serious impact on the sustainability of fish cage cultivation businesses in Pulau Lawas Village, although water quality management still needs to be improved.

Abstract

Muslim families in Indonesia face increasingly complex financial pressures, ranging from rising living costs to the high prevalence of problematic online lending, making the ability to manage household finances soundly an urgent need. Religiosity is believed to be an important driver of responsible financial behavior, yet the mechanism and strength of its influence on family financial management behavior remain mixed in the literature. This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity on Muslim family financial management behavior, both directly and through the mediation of Islamic financial literacy. This study employed a quantitative causal-explanatory approach with a cross-sectional survey design involving 320 heads of households/spouses responsible for managing household finances in the urban areas of Greater Jakarta, Greater Bandung, and Greater Surabaya, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire adapting the Centrality of Religiosity Scale, a basic Islamic financial literacy instrument, and a financial management behavior instrument adjusted to the Sharia context, then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The measurement model results indicate that all constructs are valid and reliable (loading factor 0.60; AVE 0.50; composite reliability 0.70). Hypothesis testing results show that religiosity has a positive and significant effect on Islamic financial literacy (β = 0.54, p .001) and directly on family financial management behavior (β = 0.31, p .001), Islamic financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on family financial management behavior (β = 0.42, p .001), and Islamic financial literacy partially mediates the effect of religiosity on family financial management behavior (indirect effect β = 0.227, p .001), with a total effect of 0.537. These findings confirm that religiosity fosters healthier family financial behavior particularly when accompanied by adequate Islamic financial literacy, rather than through religious belief alone without sufficient financial knowledge.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of Net Profit Margin (NPM) and Price-to-Book Value (PBV) on the stock price of PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk, both individually and simultaneously, over the 2013–2024 period. The study employed a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from the company's statements of financial position, income statements, and stock price records. The population comprised all financial statements of PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk, while the sample consisted of financial statements published during the observation period. The results of the classical assumption tests indicate that the regression model satisfies the required analytical assumptions and is appropriate for examining the relationships among the variables. The findings reveal that Net Profit Margin (NPM) does not have a significant effect on stock prices, suggesting that the company's profitability is not the primary consideration for investors in making investment decisions. In contrast, Price-to-Book Value (PBV) has a positive and significant effect on stock prices, indicating that market valuation plays an important role in influencing stock price movements. Furthermore, Net Profit Margin (NPM) and Price-to-Book Value (PBV) jointly have a significant effect on stock prices, demonstrating that the combination of profitability and market valuation indicators provides meaningful insights into the stock price movements of PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk.
