Abstract

The Batang Arau Estuary is a strategic coastal area in Padang that serves as a vital transportation route, fishing zone, and economic hub. However, escalating anthropogenic activities-including domestic waste disposal and port operations-have led to the degradation of the estuarine water quality. This study aims to analyze the relationship between tidal dynamics and water quality fluctuations in the Batang Arau Estuary and to examine the subsequent implications for environmental management and policy. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method, collecting water samples from seven observation stations during both high and low tide conditions. The analyzed parameters included salinity, pH, temperature, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD5), and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). The results indicate that tidal fluctuations significantly influence the distribution of water quality parameters, particularly salinity and DO. Salinity values increased during high tide due to seawater intrusion, while lower values were observed during low tide as freshwater discharge became dominant. While pH and temperature generally remained within environmental standards, DO concentrations at several upstream stations fell below the threshold required to support aquatic life. Furthermore, COD concentrations at specific locations exceeded permissible limits, indicating organic pollution from domestic and port-related activities. To address these issues, integrated environmental management is essential. This includes pollution control, hydrodynamic-based monitoring, ecosystem rehabilitation, and the implementation of Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM). Such measures are critical to ensuring the sustainability of the estuarine ecosystem and the long-term viability of coastal economic activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) and Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR) on Price to Book Value (PBV) in food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2010–2019 period. The study employed an associative method with a quantitative approach. The research sample consisted of 10 companies selected using a purposive sampling technique, with secondary data obtained from the companies’ financial statements. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression to examine both the partial and simultaneous effects of the variables. The results indicate that DER has a positive effect on PBV, suggesting that an effectively managed capital structure can enhance market perceptions of firm value. DPR was also found to have a positive effect on PBV, indicating that dividend distribution policies serve as a positive signal for investors in assessing the company’s prospects. Simultaneously, DER and DPR contribute to improving PBV, leading to the conclusion that financing decisions and dividend policies are important factors in shaping firm value in the food and beverage sector. These findings emphasize the importance of appropriate financial strategies to increase investor confidence and strengthen the company’s position in the capital market.

Abstract

Apar Village, North Pariaman District, West Sumatra, is a coastal area vulnerable to shoreline erosion caused by Indian Ocean dynamics and anthropogenic pressures. This study aims to analyze community perceptions of mangrove ecosystem functions as a coastal disaster mitigation system and to identify key factors influencing mangrove management using Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM). Data were collected through in-depth interviews, questionnaires distributed to 50 respondents using a Likert scale, and field observations. The results show that local communities have a relatively good understanding of mangrove ecological functions in reducing coastal abrasion and protecting coastal areas. MICMAC-ISM analysis indicates that the role of village government (A2), village regulations (A7), and NGO involvement (A3) are independent factors with the highest driver power in the system. Community awareness, participation, economic benefits, and local institutional capacity are categorized as linkage factors, while environmental education and mangrove destruction threats are dependent factors. The findings suggest that strengthening village institutions, local regulations, and community participation are essential strategies for sustainable mangrove-based disaster mitigation in Apar Village.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and investment decisions on firm value in mining sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2013–2017 period. The study employed a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from corporate financial statements. The sample was selected through purposive sampling based on specific criteria, including listing consistency, availability of audited financial reports, and the publication of CSR reports during the observation period. The dependent variable is firm value, proxied by Price to Book Value (PBV), while the independent variables consist of CSR, measured using a disclosure index, and investment decisions, proxied by the Price Earnings Ratio (PER). The data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination, processed using SPSS version 24. The results indicate that CSR has a positive and significant effect on firm value partially, and investment decisions also have a positive and significant effect on firm value partially. Simultaneously, both variables were proven to have a positive and significant effect on firm value. These findings imply that improving the quality of CSR disclosure and making appropriate investment decisions can enhance investor confidence and strengthen the firm value of mining companies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of work discipline and motivation in shaping employee performance at PT. Abadi Makmur using a descriptive quantitative approach through questionnaires distributed to all 90 employees with a saturated sampling technique. Data were analyzed using linear regression to explore the relationships among variables. The findings reveal that work discipline has a significant role in shaping employee performance, particularly in fostering consistent work behavior such as adherence to rules, punctuality, and job responsibility. Meanwhile, motivation does not show a significant effect on employee performance when examined individually, although it still functions as an internal driver that influences work enthusiasm and initiative. However, when considered simultaneously, work discipline and motivation complement each other in creating more effective and sustainable employee performance. These findings highlight that improving employee performance requires not only the enforcement of work discipline but also the proper integration of motivational strategies in human resource management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of service quality and promotion in shaping consumer satisfaction at Maxxbox Lippo Village Karawaci. The research employs an associative approach, with the population consisting of all visitors, and a sample of 100 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. The data analysis technique applied is multiple linear regression to examine both partial and simultaneous relationships among variables. The results indicate that service quality plays a crucial role in enhancing consumer satisfaction, as reflected in its ability to provide comfort, build trust, and create positive experiences for visitors. In addition, promotion also contributes significantly to shaping satisfaction, particularly through the attractiveness of information, the offers provided, and its ability to enhance consumers’ perceived value. Simultaneously, service quality and promotion demonstrate a stronger combined effect on increasing consumer satisfaction, indicating that both variables complement each other.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of liquidity and solvency ratios in determining the financial performance of PT. Kimia Farma Tbk, both partially and simultaneously. This research employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The data used are secondary data obtained from the company’s financial statements over the period 2016–2025. The data analysis technique applied is multiple linear regression, supported by classical assumption tests, correlation analysis, coefficient of determination, and partial and simultaneous significance testsThe results show that the liquidity ratio, measured by the current ratio, has a positive and significant effect on financial performance as measured by return on assets. This indicates that the better the company’s ability to meet its short-term obligations, the more optimal its financial performance. Meanwhile, the solvency ratio, measured by the debt to equity ratio, does not have a significant effect on return on assets, indicating that debt-based capital structure does not necessarily improve profitability. Simultaneously, liquidity and solvency ratios have a significant effect on financial performance, implying that both variables still play an important role in explaining variations in the financial performance of PT. Kimia Farma Tbk.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of work spirit and job satisfaction, both partially and simultaneously, on employee work productivity at PT Securindo Packatama Indonesia, South Jakarta Branch, using an associative approach through observation and questionnaire distribution. The results show that work spirit has a positive effect on productivity, as employees with high enthusiasm, motivation, and work energy tend to perform more effectively and achieve optimal results. Job satisfaction also contributes positively, where employees’ satisfaction with their work, work environment, and the rewards they receive is able to enhance commitment and seriousness in carrying out their duties. Simultaneously, both variables become important factors that mutually reinforce each other in encouraging increased work productivity. These findings confirm that the company’s success in improving productivity is strongly influenced by employees’ psychological conditions, particularly their work spirit and level of job satisfaction.

Abstract

Adolescents are not a source of problems but an asset that needs to be developed. They need positive psychological conditions in an effort to strengthen their identity and self-development. Psychological well-being is the basis for completing developmental tasks in order to bring out the positive potentials of adolescents. Psychological well-being has a positive relationship with psychological resilience. A person is said to have psychological resilience if they can face difficulties, have psychological well-being, and life satisfaction.  Both are the basis for adolescents in facing internal (self) and external (external environment) challenges. This will enable them to resist negative external influences such as juvenile delinquents. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of psychological well-being and psychological resilience on potential juvenile delinquent behavior. This study uses a quantitative approach with data collection using the psychological well-being scale, psychological resilience scale, and juvenile delinquent scale. The subjects in this study were adolescents at the junior high school level totaling 569 students at SMPN 6 Pontianak. Data analysis techniques used simple regression analysis and ANOVA on SPSS 22.0 for window. The results showed that separately there is a significant influence between psychological well-being on juvenile delinquent, and there is also a significant influence between psychological resilience on juvenile delinquent. So that simultaneously there is an influence of psychological well-being and psychological resilience on the potential for juvenile delinquent in adolescents in Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. That is, the higher the psychological well-being and psychological resilience, the lower the potential for juvenile delinquent in adolescents. Vice versa, the lower the psychological well-being and psychological resilience, the higher the potential for juvenile delinquent in adolescents.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of promotion and product quality in driving consumer purchase decisions of Camille Beauty products at PT Shavira Barokah Utama. The research employed an associative method. The population consisted of all consumers who purchased Camille Beauty products at PT Shavira Barokah Utama, and the sample was determined using the Rao Purba formula, resulting in 96 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results show that promotion plays a very strong role in driving purchase decisions. This is indicated by the regression model, which demonstrates that an increase in promotional activities is followed by an increase in consumer purchase decisions. Furthermore, product quality also plays an important role in driving purchase decisions. The regression model indicates that improvements in product quality are followed by an increase in consumer purchase decisions.The simultaneous test results also indicate that both variables jointly have a significant effect on consumer purchase decisions of Camille Beauty at PT Shavira Barokah Utama. This confirms that promotion and product quality together are important factors in shaping consumer purchasing behavior.
