Abstract

Math's student’s assignment based on Google Form is one of the products that help students study by themselves. It is adapted from Learning Activities in the Grade 8 Mathematics Student Book. This product provides direct feedback to help students understand and avoid conceptual errors. This research aims to develop a valid and practical Google Form-based online math assignment on statistics material in class VIII SMP/MTs. The model used for this development research is Plomp model which consists of the Preliminary, Prototyping and Assessment Phases. The preliminary stage consists of needs analysis, student analysis, curriculum analysis and concept analysis. At the prototyping stage, the task is designed to produce prototype 1, then self-evaluation is carried out to obtain prototype 2. Furthermore, an expert review is carried out to get the validity of the product until a prototype 3 is obtained. Then a one-to-one evaluation is carried out to a group of students and the results are revised to obtain a prototype 4. Finally, prototype 4 was tested with a small group evaluation of nine students. The product can be accessed at https://linktr.ee/tugasmtk8statistika. The results showed that the product has a level of validity in the valid category and has a level of practicality in the practical category. Abstract

If we talks about learning of mathematics, one of the goals is in order that the students are able to get communication of mathematics ability, however the students at Phase E SMA Negeri 5 Padang have not been successful in doing so. The results of this ability's initial testing account for this. The TPSQ (Think Pair Square) cooperative learning model, which focuses on equation and square function resources, is used to effort this issue by enhancing the students' mathematical communication abilities. The Phase E SMA Negeri 5 Padang student population for the academic year 2022-2023 is used in this research. Quasy experiment and Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design were used in this study. Two groups of samples are collected using simple random sampling. Quizzes and final test of mathematical ability are the study's instruments. The test-t is employed to demonstrate the research hypothesis. 0,004 is the P-value, based on data analysis. When the P-value is < α=0,05,  is either rejected or accepted . In summary, at SMA Negeri 5 Padang's Phase E, students who use the TPSQ cooperative learning model have superior mathematics communication abilities than those who use the direct learning approach.Keywords– Cooperative Learning Model Type Think Pair Square, Mathematical Communication Abilities

Abstract

Abstract –The results of the preliminary study indicate that there are several problems in learning Number Pattern at Junior High School grade VIII. Although the example of pattern application was given in the daily live the teacher still has not designed the flow of the students learning by themselves. This research aimed to developing instructional design in topic the Number Pattern for Junior High School grade VIII with the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach. This research is a kind of design research using Gravemeijer and Cobb model, which consists of three phases, namely the preparation phase for research (Preparation for the Experiment), experiment phase (Conducting the Experiment) and assessment phase (Retrospective Analysis). The subjects research were SMPN 4 Bukittinggi grade VIII. The results obtained that the conducting experiment stage indicate the problem is given in the activity series of students can stimulate the students to develop their knowledge and help them to find their own formulas in the material the Number Patterns. All of the strategies are used and discussed by the students that show how the students construct or contribute in finding the concept of Number Pattern from the informal level to the formal level. The result showed that the development of instructional learning design on numerical pattern topics based on realistic mathematic education in junior high school grade VIII was valid, practice and effective. The validity of this learning design is showed in the term of content and language. Practically seen in terms of implementation, ease and time needed in using a series of activities designed. Abstract

Mathematics learning outcomes are needed to determine the ability and understanding of students. The problem in the UNP Laboratory Development Junior High School is that mathematics learning outcomes are still low. This study aims to determine whether the results of learning mathematics using the discovery learning model are better than conventional learning. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design using a Randomized Control-Group Only Design. The research population is all students of class VIII with a sample class of class VIII. A and class VIII. B selected by purposive sampling technique. Learning outcomes test in the form of essay questions was used as a research instrument. From the data analysis, the average value of the experimental class was 65.36 and the control class average was 55.62. The results of hypothesis testing with t-test obtained P-Value = 0.009 or reject Ho because it is less than . So it can be concluded that students who study with the discovery learning model have better learning outcomes than students of class VIII SMP UNP Laboratory Development with conventional learning. Keywords — discovery learning, learning outcomes

Abstract

The mathematical concept understanding  is one of the goals of mathematics learning that must be achieved by students through the process of learning mathematics. It is also basic of the other mathematical skills. But in fact learning activities in schools are not optimal in facilitating students to improve the mathematical concept understanding. One effort to overcome this problem is to apply the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) model. The purpose of this study is to describe whether the mathematical concept understanding of students who learn by using the TAI model are better than students who learn with direct learning. This type of research is quasi-experimental with the Static Group Design research design. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the mathematical concept understanding of students who learn to use the TAI model are better than students who learn with direct learning in class VIII SMPN 2 Lubuk Alung.  Keywords – Mathematical Concept Understanding, Team Assisted Individualization Model, Direct Learning

Abstract

Understanding of mathematical concepts has a very important roles in mathematics. Based on the results of observations in class XI MIPA SMAN 1 V Koto Kampung Dalam, it can be seen the students' undestanding of mathematical concept is still low. One of the causes is the use of learning models that do not actively involve students in the learning process. Therefore, a research was conducted by applying a think talk write (TTW) cooperative learning model with the aim of increasing students' understanding of mathematical concepts. Learning is carried out online as a results of the implementation of restrictions on community activities to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 in the school environment. For this reason, learning is carried out online by using WhatsApp and Google Meet. This type of research is a quasy-Experiment with Static Group Design. The population is all students of class XI MIPA SMAN 1 V Koto Kampung Dalam with two classes being sampled through a simple random sampling technique, namely class XI IPA 4 as the experimental class and XI IPA 3 as the Control class. The instrument used in this study was a mathematical concept understanding test given at the end of the lesson. from the result of data’ analysist with a significant level of  α, obtain p-value = 0.000. Thus, it can be concluded that the understanding of mathematical concept of students who study using the TTW model is better than students who learn using the directs learning model. Keywords– understandings of mathematicals concepts, Think Talk Write, quasi-experimental

Abstract

Abstract – Learners need to have strong communication skills in mathematics. The pupils in class VIII MTsN 1 in Padang City exhibited poor mathematics communication abilities throughout the academic year 2023/2024. This was shown by the mathematical communication exam that they took. This technique of learning via duo work may be helpful in enhancing these mathematical communication abilities. This study makes use of a pseudo experiment using a static group design for its methodology. We utilised a straightforward random sampling method. Class VIII.1 serves as the experimental group, while class VIII.5 serves as the control. When compared to pupils who had received their education via direct learning, those who had participated in cooperative learning through the type pair check model demonstrated significant improvement in their mathematics communication abilities (P-Value = 0.000 = 0.05).Keywords. – Mathematical Communication Abilities, Pair Check

Abstract

The understandingof mathematical concept has an important role in the purpose of learning so that later learners will be able to understand the objectives of other mathematics learning. However, in reality from the learning results, it can be seen that the students understanding is still low, so it needs to be improved, in order to understand the concept well. Abstract

Mathematics concepts understanding is very fundamental which should be owned by the students. However, in reality mathematics concepts understanding the student of SMPN 2 Payakumbuh first year still low and learning process had done yet. The solution applied was coperative leaning model NHT type. The purpouse of this researrch was to describe thee comparison off students’ mathematics concept understanding who studied with cooperative learning model NHT type to the students who studied with directly learning and to describe the progressing of students’ mathematics concepts understanding to the students who studied with cooperative learning model NHT type in grade VII SMPN 2 Payakumbuh. The type of this research is quasy experiment and descriptive which is using static group design research planning and t-test hypothesis evidence. It can be concluded that from the data analysis, for the level of , mathematics concepts understanding of students who studied with cooperative learning model NHT type were better than who studied with directly learning and students’ mathematics concepts understanding fluctuated in every meeting. Keywords – NHT (Numbered Heads Together), mathematics concepts understanding

Abstract

The primary objective that must be met by all students in mathematics instruction is the ability to understand mathematical concepts. But as it turns out, the math comprehension skills that the students in class XII MIA SMAN 1 Koto Salak Dharmasraya possess are quite limited. This is known based on the results of a recent survey of students who were not able to provide theories that were explained in a logical manner in line with mathematical understanding indicators. It is possible to accomplish this by implementing the Two Stay Two Stray cooperative learning (TSTS).
