Abstract

Mathematics learning outcomes can be said to be successful if someone is able to recognize and master mathematics subject matter in learning activities. However, in reality, learning mathematics often results in low learning outcomes. Students at SMP Negeri 1 Kabun can also suffer from low mathematics learning outcomes. Regarding this problem, the solution offered in this research is the Two Stay Two Stay (TSTS) learning model. In this research, the aim is to convey mathematics learning outcomes by comparing students who implemented it using the TSTS learning model and students who implemented it using the direct learning model at SMP Negeri 1 Kabun. In this research, using a quasi-experiment as a type of research by choosing a nonequivalent posttest only control group design as the research design. To conduct this research, Class IX of SMP Negeri 1 Kabun became the population using the Purposive Sampling technique for sampling. Class IX-4 was selected as the experimental group and Class IX-3 was selected as the control group. Minitab software was used to analyze the final test results. The results obtained with a P-value <0.05 indicate that students at SMP Negeri 1 Kabun who apply TSTS learning get superior mathematics learning outcomes compared to students who apply direct learning. Therefore, there is a significant difference in mathematics learning outcomes between students at SMP Negeri 1 Kabun who take TSTS learning and those who take direct learning.Keywords – Two Stay Two Stray, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

One of the purpose in mathematics learning is understanding of mathematical concepts. It is the most important in mathematics learning because it is the main thing that must be mastered in the learning mathematics. In fact, understanding of mathematical concepts of students at class VIII SMPN 3 Batusangkar still low. One of the effort that can be  used to solve this problem is by applying cooperative learning model Teams Games Tournament type. Type of the research is a quasi experiment design with Static Gropu Design. The sample of this research were class VIII.3 and VIII.4. Instrument used was test in essay form. Abstract

Mathematics Learning result can be an indicator of the success of a learning process. However, the result of mathematics learning in second grade of science major at SMA Negeri 1 Solok is still low. At least, the main reason is that the learning model used in class does not make  student active in learning process. Therefore, we need a learning model that can make learning outcomes better than before. In this research the researcher use a model called Knisley Learning Model. Knisley has four stages in its implementation, where there is a different division of roles between teacher and student in each step of learning. The purpose of this research is to describe and find out whether the learning outcomes of students who use Knisley Learning Model are better than students who learn with direct learning in XI classes at SMAN 1 Solok. This research use Quasi-experimental method with Non-equivalent control where only group design as reseacrh design. Based on related data analysis, the reaseracher found that there is an effect where mathematics learning outcomes learned by applying Knisley learning model are better than mathematics learning outcomes learned with direct learning models in XI MIPA classes at SMAN 1 Solok. Abstract

The capacity to solve problems is a skill that must be cultivated in order to study mathematics. Students in grade VIII MTsN 6 Padang City, however, have not fully grasped this capacity for problem solving. This study intends to describe the aptitude for mathematical problem-solving of MTsN 6 Kota Padang pupils in class VIII. Descriptive study utilizing a qualitative approach is a technique used. The outcomes demonstrated that pupils at MTsN 6 Kota Padang have a respectable aptitude for problem-solving. In the high group, they could comprehend the issue, proficient in creating and enacting action plans, and less able to reflect on the past. The medium group had a clear comprehension of the issue, but they struggled to come up with ideas, put them into action, and assess their effectiveness. Abstract

Ability of mathematical understanding concepts is one of mathematics learning purpose. Observations which had been done in class X SMA Negeri 4 Solok showed that mathematics learning process was not able to improved students' mathematical understanding concepts optimally. This was cause by thelearning strategythat had not able to improved students' mathematical understanding concepts. One effort that could be done was to apply the Generative Learning Strategy. This type of research was descriptive and quasi-experimental with research design was Static Group Design. The results  showed that  the  development of  students‘s ability  of  mathematical  understanding  concepts after  the implementation of generative learning strategy had increased. Furthermore, based on the hypothesis test results could be concluded that ability of students’s mathematical understanding concepts who learned by used generative learning strategy was better than students‘s ability of mathematical understanding concepts who learned by used conventional learning in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 4 Solok. Keywords ― Ability of Mathematical Understanding Concepts, Mathematics Learning, Generative Learning Strategy.

Abstract

The pupose of this research is to develop student worksheet Geogebra Classroom on the linear program is valid, practical and effective to improve student mathematical communication skills. Thi is because the student worksheet that used in the learning procces are still not able to facilitate students to be able to communicate their mathematical ideas. the type of thisresearch is Research and Development (R&D). This reseach used the plomp model which consist of three phases, namely preliminary reseach, development or prototyping phase, and assessment phase. The research data from the questionnaire were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, and the data from observation and interviews were analyzed by describtive techniques. The results of this research are (1) the student worksheets developed has a very valid category with a validity value of 89.02%, (2) the student worksheets can be used easily by students in the learning process with a practicality value of 90,14% with very practical category, (3) Geogebra Classroom assisted LKPD is effectively used in learning, this is seen from classical completeness, N-Gain Score test, and Effect Size test. where the result of classical completeness show more than 75% of students score are above the KKM, the N-Gain Score shows a value of 0,66 in the medium category, and effect size test scores 2,07 in the hidh category. Therefore, it can be said that the LKPD assisted by the Geogebra Classroom is effective in improving students mathematical communication skills .  Keywords – Student Worksheet, Mathemathic Communication Skill, Geogebra Classroom, Linear Program, Plomp.

Abstract

Mathematical concept understanding must be owned by students as the basic ability of learning mathematics. But, the truth showed that  students’ mathematical concept understanding of  eleventh graders SMA Negeri 3 Padang were low. Based on observation result, the application of learning in school tended to be teacher center, so they were not involved actively in learning activity. Then, it needed a model that can  actively involve students in learning activity. The solution was implementing Discovery Learning model as a model to train them constructing their own mathematical concept understanding. The goal of  this research was to compare the difference between mathematical concept of students who learned by using discovery learning model and who learned conventional learning. The type of research was quasy experiment with Randomized Control-Group Only Design and use test of mathematical concept understanding as a instrument. Based on hypothesis result that mathematical concept understanding of students who learn by using discovery learning model is better than who learn by using conventional learning. Abstract

Mathematical problem solving is one of several mathematical abilities that must be possessed by students as stated in the mathematics learning objectives in Permendikbud number 22 of 2016. However, students' mathematical problem solving abilities are still relatively low. One of the efforts that can improve students' mathematical problem solving skills is applying the Problem Based Learning model. The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe that the mathematical problem solving ability of students who learn to use the Problem Based Learning model is better than the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who learn by conventional learning.The type of research used in this study is a quasi-experimental and descriptive research with a Randomized Control Only Group Design research design. The population of this study is class VIII students of SMP Negeri 16 Padang in the academic year 2021/2022 with the research sample being students of class VIII.1 as the experimental class and students of class VIII.3 as the control class. The sampling technique was carried out by Simple Random Sampling, namely simple random sampling. Research data obtained from the final test of mathematical problem solving ability. Based on the results of the final test data analysis with a significance level (α) equal to 0.05, it was obtained that P-value = 0.000 where if P-value < then reject Ho. In other words, the mathematical problem solving ability of students who learn to use the Problem Based Learning model is better than the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who learn using conventional methods. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is an effect of applying the Problem Based Learning model on the mathematical problem solving ability of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 16 Padang. Keywords – Problem Based Learning, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability

Abstract

One of the expected of mathematics learning in senior high schools is that students able to understanding mathematical concepts. But according to the result of the tests, the understanding of mathematical concepts of student in class X IPA of SMAN 7 Padang is still can be improve. This is happen because learning model used in schools have not facilitated students to improve their own capability to understanding of mathematical concept. One effort that can be offer to these problems is to apply cooperative learning model type Team Assisted Individualization. The type of this research is quasy-experiment, research design with The Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design. Based on results of test and quizzed, it was concluded that understanding the mathematical concepts of students learning after applying cooperative learning model type Team Assisted Individualization  is better than understanding mathematical concepts of students learning by direct learning in class X IPA SMAN 7 Padang. Then, the development of students understanding mathematical concept during appling cooperative learning model type Team Assisted Individualization has increased. Keywords – Cooperative learning model, Team Assisted Individualization, understanding of mathematical concept
