Abstract

This study was conducted to acquire the ability of mathematical problem solving of student in mathematics, the part of learning mathematics, conducted at SMPN 1 Batusangkar. The result of the first test of math problem-solving skills was that the student did not solve the problem well. One solution to overcome this is the application of problem-based learning models. The research results shown that mathematical problem-solving skills who learn to use problem-based learning outperform those who learn to use direct learning. Initial tests of mathematics problem-solving ability shown that the students did not solve the problem well. One attempt to overcome this is the use model of problem-based learning. The research result shown that those who learn to use problem-based learning have better problem-solving skills in mathematics than those who learn to use direct learning. Keywords. – Problem Based Learning, The Ability of Mathematical Problem Solving

Abstract

Learning mathematics has several goals that must be achieved, one of which is thenability tonsolve mathematical problems. Themobservation results indicate thatmthe students mathematical problem solving abilities at SMPN 12 Padang were still low. Therefore, efforts are needed to overcome this in the form ofnthe Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning model that canmimprovemstudents mathematicalmproblem solving abilities. Abstract

This research aims to identify internal and external factors influencing the difficulty of learning mathematics in 12th-grade students. A qualitative research method was employed by collecting data through interviews and observations of students. The findings indicate that internal factors such as motivation, self-perception, and learning anxiety have a significant impact on the difficulty of learning mathematics. Meanwhile, external factors such as teaching quality, family support, and learning environment also contribute to the difficulty. Special attention is needed to build students' motivation and self-understanding, as well as to improve teaching methods and family support to enhance the quality of mathematics learning in the 12th grade.Keywords - Difficulty in learning mathematics, Teaching method improvement, Enhancement of mathematics learning quality

Abstract

The development of technology entered the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 has affected the field of education. Mobile learning is learning that utilize information and communication technology that can be accessed flexibly (anywhere, anytime). This research aims to develop teaching materials based mobile learning for the material trigonometry are valid and practical. This type of research is development research by adapting the model of Plomp consisting of the stage of the preliminary research and prototyping phase. The Preliminary stage of the research includes the analysis of needs, analysis of learners, curriculum analysis and the analysis of the concept. The Prototyping phase is the stage for designing teaching materials based mobile learning which consists of prototype 1, prototype 2, and prototype 3 were evaluated using a design of formative evaluation . The results showed that teaching material based mobile learning that is produced is valid and practical.Keywords – Mobile Learning, Trigonometry,Teaching Material

Abstract

Mathematical problem solving is an ability that must develop in learning mathematics. That is because, with the development of problem solving ability, the mindset of students will also increase. But in reality, the problem-solving ability of the 10th-grade students of SMAN 1 Lubuk Sikaping is still relatively low. Therefore, the study applied the model Problem-Based Learning to improve student’s problem-solving ability. The type of research is pre-experimental with the one-shot class study design. The study subjects were all of the 10th-grade SMAN 1 Lubuk Sikaping for the 2021/2022 year. The results data obtained from quiz and test mathematical's problem-solving abilities. Thus, it concluded that the learning Problem Based Learning positively influenced the mathematical problem solving ability of the 10th grade of SMAN 1 Lubuk Sikaping. Keywords — Problem Solving, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

The part the most important purpose of mathematics learning was understood the concepts of mathematical. However, based on the tests results conducted in class VIII SMPN 4 Bukittinggi, it showed that concepts understanding of students' in mathematical was still relatively low. One of the strategies implemented by educators to increase concepts understanding of students' in mathematical is the model by learning in cooperative of the Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending type. This research purpose to find out and describe the concepts understanding of students' in mathematical who study with the type by model of learning in cooperative of  the Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending type is more goog than students who learn with the learning in direct model in class VIII SMPN 4 Bukittinggi. The research type used was a Quasi Experiment with a non-equivalent posttest-only control group design. The research population population were class VIII SMPN 4 Bukittinggi with samples from class VIII C and VIII E. The instrument research used was a concepts understanding of students test in consist of questions in essay which were analyzed by testing the hypothesis used the test by Mann Whitney. Thus we got conclusion that the concepts understanding of students' in mathematical who studied with the learning in cooperative model of the Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending type was more good than students who studied with the learning in direct model in class VIII SMPN 4 Bukittinggi. Keywords– Cooperative, CORE, mathematical concepts

Abstract

Videos that have a by displaying videos that contextually connect teaching material to life, learning videos with a contextual approach help media in the learning process, particularly independent learning. One of these operations is the vector material for class X SMA / MA. This research aims to create valid and practical instructional media based on video lessons and a contextual approach to vector material. This is a development research using the Plomp model, which includes a stage of preliminary research and a prototyping phase. Needs analysis, student analysis, curriculum analysis, and material analysis are also part of the preliminary research phase. The prototyping phase consists of four prototypes for creating a learning video with a contextual approach. The research found that instructional video media for class X SMA/MA with a contextual approach to vector material had a validity level of very valid category and a practicality level of very practical category. As a result, it can be concluded that learning media based on video learning with a contextual approach for class X SMA / MA students are valid and practical. Keywords — Learning Video, Contextual Approach, Vector

Abstract

Because of Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19), learning process is carried out in a network. So, it is necessary to innovate the deve1opment of technology-based student worksheet. This research airns to deve1op a video and Student Worksheets on the material of two-variable system of linear equations for class eighth junior high school students  which is va1id. This deve1oprnent research uses the Plornp developrnent mode1 which consists of three phases, name1y the Prelirninary research phase, the Prototyping phase, and the Assessrnent phase. Validation is carried out by mathernatics education experts and the practica1ity of Student Worksheets is seen from the practicality questionnaire results of the student response questionnaire which has heterogeneous abilities. Video and Student Worksheets is validity in terms of format, content eligibility, 1anguage, and learning activities with a validity level of 92,8% (very valid). Based on these results, it can be concluded that the video and Student Worksheets for class eighth junior high school students of two-variable system of linear equations material that has been produced can be dec1ared va1id. Keywords __ Development Research, Student Worksheet, Video, Two-Variable System of Linear Equations

Abstract

The purpose of learning mathematics is mathematical problem solving, thus students must have this competence. However, initial assessments at SMA N 1 Lareh Sago Halaban in class XI showed that each component of mathematical problem solving was remained below grade. One endeavour used the SSCS learning methodology. This study examines how the SSCS model improves students' mathematical problem-solving skills and if it outperforms the direct learning model. This study used quasi-experimental methods. A posttest-only non-equivalent group design was utilised in this investigation, with a significance threshold of α = 0.05 Simple random sampling was used. Research findings were t-tested. SMA N 1 Lareh Sago Halaban students taught utilising the SSCS technique have better mathematical problem-solving skills than those taught directly.Keywords– Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, SSCS, Direct Learning.

Abstract

Learning outcomes are the results achieved by students or someone after learning activities. Therefore we need an appropriate learning process in improving learning outcomes. But in reality the learning process carried out at SMAN 1 Bonjol is not success to ascend  the result of learning mathematic. The process of learning mathematics at SMAN 1 Bonjol is still focus on the teacher. In addition, student learning activities are still not visible in the learning process. One solution to ascend learning activities and result is to apply Think Pair Square (TPSq) cooperative learning models. The direction of this study was to describe student learning activities during the TPSq type cooperative learning model, and see whether students' mathematics learning outcomes by applying TPSq type cooperative learning models were better than student result of learning with conventional learning of students of class XI IPA SMAN 1 Bonjol. The instrument used was a learning achievement test. Proof of research hypothesis with the Mann Whitney test. From the data analysis, for the level of α = 0.05, it can be  concluded that the activities of students studied with the TPSq model experienced fluctuations at every meeting, and the result of learning mathematics students in class XI IPA SMAN 1 Bonjol taught by applying the cooperative learning model Think Pair Square type were better than with conventional learning.Keyword---Cooperative Learning, Student Activities, Result of Learning Mathematicals, Think Pair Square.
