Abstract

This study aims to develop web-based teaching materials using wordpress in mathematics learning class X MIPA SMA, determine the level of validity and practicality of web-based teaching materials using wordpress in mathematics learning class X MIPA SMA. This research is included in the research and development of R&D with the Dick & Carey model. The resulting product is a web-based teaching material using wordpress on Trigonometry material. This teaching material is validated by two lecturers and one math teacher as a material expert. The level of practicality of web-based teaching materials using wordpress is determined by 40 students of class X MIPA 6 SMA Negeri 2 Padang. Data collection is done by filling out questionnaires. The result of this research is web-based teaching materials using wordpress developed with Dick & Carey procedure, which is the stage of needs analysis; product design stage; validation and evaluation stage; and the final product stage. Web-based teaching materials using wordpress can be accessed on https://handalmatematika.wordpress.com/2021/01/23/trigonometri/. Validation obtained from the material expert has a final value of 79% and belongs to the valid category. While practicality obtained from 40 learners has a final score of 79.53% and belongs to the practical category. Thus, web-based teaching materials using wordpress on mathematics learning materials Trigonometry class X MIPA SMA valid and practical to be used as a source of learning wherever it is. Keywords – Teaching Materials, WordPress, Mathematics Learning.

Abstract

All students need problem-solving skills. However, students still have difficulties in solving problems. Thus, a learning model that can develop students' ability to solve problems is needed. This study examines how Problem Based Learning (PBL) affects students' problem solving skills. This quantitative research used the Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design. All eighth grade students from nine classes were studied. Two classes with 63 students were sampled. This study used random sampling at SMP Negeri 10 Padang. Data were collected using test questions. Data analysis showed that the t-test for hypothesis testing rejected the null hypothesis (H0) with a P-value of less than 0.05. The problem-based learning model has an effect on the mathematics problem solving ability of students in grade VIII of SMP Negeri 10 Padang.Keywords – Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, PBL, Conventional Learning

Abstract

The ability to solve mathematical problems is one of the leaming objectives that is expected to be achieved by students during the mathematics leaming process. But in reality the ability to solve mathematical problems of grade VIII students of SMPN 2 Padang is still low. One effort to solve these problems is to apply an leaming start with a question type active leaming strategy. This type of research is a pre-experiment (pre-experimental) research design with one group pre-test post-test design. The results of this research indicate that an increase in mathematical problem solving abilities of students who leam to use LSQ type active leaming strategies. Abstract

Analysis of student’s errors is an important thing to do to determine the mastery of student material. In fact, it was found that there were mistakes made by students of class VIII  SMP N 7 Sijunjung in solving math problems with cubes and blocks. Based on the results of the study showed that students made a lot of mistakes including: 1) conceptual errors, that is students could not choose or apply the volume formula of cubes and beams, students were wrong in determining the formula for beam surface area and students did not write the formula for wall-shaped beam surface area, 2) procedural errors, that is students make mistakes in determining the steps in solving problems and students do not solve problems until the final results, 3) technical errors, that is students make mistakes in determining the value of arithmetic operations and wrong use of the math operations. The percentage of errors in class VIII-3 students of SMP N 7 Sijunjung in solving geometry problems of cube and block material was 60.34% with the biggest error being procedural error by 34.29% and the smallest error was tecnichal error by 2.86%. Keywords—Analysis of student’s errors, conceptual errors, procedural errors, technical errors, geometry.

Abstract

One of the things that is very crucial for students is having a good learning outcomes. However, the reality low learning outcomes are often found in mathematics learning. Such as Phase E students at SMAN 3 Bukittinggi whose mathematics learning achievements remain relatively modest. In this case, Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) is the solution. The objective of this case is to examine the disparities in mathematics learning results between students who were educated using the TSTS type cooperative learning strategy and those who were educated using comventional learning models in Phase E of SMAN 3 Bukittinggi. This type of study is a quasy experiment and a nonequivalent post-test only control group research design.  The populace of this study were Phase E students of SMAN 3 Bukittinggi. The sampling method employed in this case is Simple Random Sampling, resulting in class X.E.4 being selected as the ecperimental group and class X.E.9 as the control group the acquisition of data in the research is conducted using a final test in the form of a learning achievement test which was analyzed by the t test. The finding of the research analysis on the results of the final test with the help of Minitab software, obtained P-value = 0.001 at a significant level of a = 0.05, this indicates that the students who implemented the TSTS type cooperative learning model achieved betted learning achievements compared to the students who studied using conventional learning in Phase E of SMAN 3 Bukittinggi. Thus, based on the research findings, it can be gathered that the implementation of the TSTS cooperative learning strategy significantly influenced the student performance of Phase E students at SMAN 3 Bukittinggi.Keywords – Two Stay Two Stray, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

One of coginitive competence that wished to be owned by student is the understanding of mathematical concepts, butbased on the result of observation and given test show that learning activities and competence on understandingmathematical concept of students SMPN 30 Padang grade VIII are still low. One of the efforts to overcome thisproblem is by applying Connecting Organizing Reflecting Extending (CORE) learning model. The purpose of thisresearch were to describe student’s learning activities in grade VIII of SMPN 30 Padang during applied CORElearning model and describe whether student’s concept understanding using CORE learning model better thanstudent’s concept understanding using coventional learning model. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a valid and practical student worksheets using the geogebra classroom on linear program topics. This research used the Plomp model that consist the three stage, which are preliminary research, prototyping stage, and assessment phase. The data in this research is derived from interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The data from interviews and observations are analyzed by descriptive analysis methods, and the data from questionnaire is analyzed by descriptive statistics. The results of this study are (1) the student worksheets developed is in a very valid category with a validity value of 88.83% and (2) the student worksheets can be used easily by students, with a practicality value of 85.87% with a very practical category. Research results can conclude that the     student worksheets using the geogebra classroom can be used in the mathematics learning process at class. Abstract

Understanding concepts ability and learning motivation is one of the important aspects in learning. Based on the results of observations and preliminary tests that have been carried out, it appears that the understanding of mathematical concepts and learning motivation of students in class VIII of SMPN 3 Padang Panjang is still low. One effort that can be done is to apply the Make A Match Learning Model. This type of research is a combination of quasi-experimental and descriptive research. The study design was a randomized control group only design and one group pretest-posttest design. The study population was all VIII grade students of SMPN 3 Padang Panjang with sample of grades VIII.E and VIII.F. The results showed that the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students who use the Make A Match Learning Model is better than of students who learn by using the Direct Learning Model.Keywords - Understanding Of Mathematical Concepts, Make A Match, Direct Learning,  Motivation Learning.

Abstract

One of the important things in learning mathematics is understanding of mathematical concepts. The fact, understanding of mathematical concepts studets in class VIII of SMPN 3 Padang still low. The observation concluded that the causes is when teacher explain the subject, most students interact with friends. In addition, students are less enthusiatics about doing the exercises. One of the efforts to improve it by applying the learning model that involves the participation of students in learning and doing the exercises is cooperative learning model Make a Match. The type of research is quasi experiment with static group design. The technique is simple random sampling. Analysis of data used is t-test. Based on the analysis data obteined the average of the experimental class are 66.74 and the control class is 54.68. The result concluded that understanding mathematical concept of students learning by cooperatif learning model Make a Match is better than understanding mathematical concept students learning by conventional learning.Keywords – understanding of mathematical concepts, cooperative learning, make a match type, conventional learning

Abstract

The purpose of this research to describe learning motivation mathematics and students' mathematics learning outcomes, and describe whether there is an impact of motivation to learn mathematics on math learning result XI grade students of SMAN 1 X Koto Tanah Datar. This type of riset is a quantative descriptive riset with quantitative. The population in the riset were XI grade students of SMAN 1 X Koto Tanah Datar. Samples riset were taken by“purposive sampling technique”, so we get class XI IPS 2 and XI IPS 3 SMAN 1 X Koto Tanah Datar were selected as the research sample. Results of the research showed that (1) The motivation for learning mathematics for students class XI SMAN 1 X Koto Tanah Datar in general, it has a medium category with the average value obtained 71,17. (2) motivation to learn mathematics in each category,it has a moderate category and average percentage are 74,37%. (3) Results In general, studying mathematics for class XI SMAN 1 X Koto Tanah Datar students are in the medium category with an average of 74. (4) the learning motivation of mathematics has a significant influence significant to outcomes of math learning, influence of motivation on mathematics learning outcomes is 6,4%, the remaining 93,6% are not influenced by the motivation to learn mathematics but are influenced by other factors. Keywords – Analysis, Learning Motivation, Learning Outcomes, Mathematics.
