Abstract

Mathematical reasoning skills are one of the goal in mathematics learning that must be achieved by students. But in reality at SMP Negeri 2 Payakumbuh this ability is still not optimal and don’t facilitated yet for improving those skill well. One effort to overcome these problems is to apply the Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring(REACT) model. The aims of this research is to describe the differences in the ability of student's mathematical reasoning using REACT model with the ability of student's mathematical reasoning using conventional learning model. The types of research is quasi-experimental with Randomized Control-Group Only Design. The authentication of the research hypotheses using t-test. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the mathematical reasoning skills of students who learn using the REACT model is better than the mathematical reasoning skills of students who learn by conventional learning in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Payakumbuh. Keywords — Mathematical reasoning skills, REACT, Conventional learning

Abstract

Problem solving ability was one of learning mathematics goals goals that have to achieved by students. However, in the real skills of mathematical problem solving by students in schools are still lack. One solution to finish these problems was to use the model of Problem Based Learning. The ultimate goal of this research was to find out whether the skill of mathematical problem solving of students who studied with the Problem Based Learning model were more good than students who studied with the model learning in Direct for class VIII MTsN 1 Padangsidimpuan. The research type used was nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. The research population were students of class VIII at MTsN 1 Padangsidimpuan. Sampling was carried out using non-random sampling (non-random sample) with purposive sampling technique by assigning class VIII 1 as the group for experimental and VIII 2 as the group for control. Based on the analysis of Problem Solving Ability test data, P-value = 0.00 is obtained with a level in significant (α = 0.05), because the P-value , then  is rejected. The conclusion obtained is that students who learn with the model of Problem Based Learning was more good than those who learn with the model of learning in direct for class VIII MTsN 1 Padangsidimpuan.Keywords - Problem Based Learning, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability

Abstract

This study aims to develop student worksheets based on the Creative Problem Solving on mathematics functional material for class X MIPA Senior High School students. This research design uses the Plomp development model which consists of three stages, namely the preliminary research stage, the development / prototyping stage, and the assessment stage. In the preliminary research, needs analysis, curriculum analysis, concept analysis, and student analysis are carried out which are useful for obtaining characteristics in the form of learning tools developed. In the prototype development / development stage, a learning device prototype design was made in the form of student worksheets for mathematics functions material. Prototypes must go through formative evaluation in the form of self-evaluation and expert evaluation to get a valid prototype. The last stage is the assessment, this assessment aims to determine the practicality criteria for the LKPD prototype which is carried out after a one to one evaluation. This research was conducted when Covid-19 was pandemic, so there were several stages of research that could not be carried out properly. The conclusion of this study is to obtain student worksheets based on Creative Problem Solving on the functional material in the form of lesson plans and worksheets which are categorized as valid and practical. Kata kunci — Development Research, Student Worksheet, Creative Problem Solving

Abstract

Mathematics aims to educate problem solving and become a challenging subject in class XII social studies SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. LKPD and Problem Based Learning (PBL) model were adopted to improve this ability. This pseudo-experiment used Nonequivalent Posstest-Only Control Group Design. Simple random sampling. Class XII IPS 1 and 3 as experimental class and control class. The final test analysis used t-test with P-Value = 0.013 to reject H0. Then, PBL with LKPD electronic solve mathematical problems better than the usual method. Abstract

Mathematical critical thinking ability is one of the abilities that must be possessed by students in the 21st century. However, in class VIII of SMPN 2 Padang Panjang students' mathematical critical thinking ability is still low. Students only listen and receive information from the teacher, so learning becomes teacher centered. The purpose of the study was to describe the effect of the Problem Based Learning model on students 'mathematical critical thinking skills better than students' mathematical critical thinking skills by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 2 Padang Panjang. This type of research is quasi-experimental and descriptive with a Randomized Control Group Only Design. The research instrument is a test of critical thinking skills. From the data analysis it was concluded that students' critical thinking skills that applied the PBL model were better than the students' critical thinking abilities who applied conventional learning, and there was an increase in students' critical thinking skills while learning to apply the PBL model. Keywords - Mathematical Critical Thinking Ability, Problem Based Learning Model, Learning Conventional

Abstract

Mathematicals problem solving ability is one of the goals that must be achieved by students in learning mathematics. However, the reality  was that the mathematical problem solving ability of class XI IPA SMAN 1 Sutera students is still low, as can be seen from the results of daily assessments of students who have not been able to solve mathematical problems correctly in accordance with the indicators of mathematical problem solving ability. Effort that can be made to overcome these problems are by applying the Problem Based Learning model. This type of research is a pre-experimental research with One Shot Case Study design. The purpose of this study was to describe the development of mathematical problem solving abilities of students in class XI IPA SMAN 1 Sutera after applying in the prolem based learning model. The population of this study were students of class XI IPA SMAN 1 Sutera with the research sample being students of class XI IPA 3. The research instrument used was a mathematical problem solving ability test in the form of essay questions. Based on the results of data analysis, the average mathematical problem solving ability of students is 71,41. The percentage results of each indicator on the test questions are in the capable category. The primary abilties that students ought to have after mastering mathematicsi are undesrtainding oif mathematical concepts. But, in fact, the knowledge of mathematical concepts in magnificence VIII students of SMPN 1 Hiliran Gumanti remains relatively low, due to the fact they have now not been actively concerned inside the mastering system. To conquer this problem, efforts had been made to use the problem based learning (PBL) model. The reason of this have a look at changed into to investigate and examine whether the understaniding of mathematical concepts of students who studied with the PBL version was higher than those who studied with conventional learning models and described the development of college students' understaniding of mathematical concepts so long as the PBL model changed into applied. The form of research used is descriptive research and quasy experiment with a nonequivalent posttest-only control group  design. The studies populace turned into elegance VIII college students of SMPN 1 Hiliran Gumanti inside the 2022/2023 educational year. The research devices used were quizzes at each assembly and a final check of knowledge mathematical concepts to compare students' understianding of mathematical concepts in the experimental elegance and the manipulate elegance. Based on the results of the quiz analysis at each meeting, the development of students' understanding of mathematical concepts generally increased and based on the analysis with a significance level of 0.05 obtained P-value = 0.041, meaning that P-value < ? so reject H0. Abstract

Mathematical communication ability is one of learning outcome in mathematics which was expected to be mastered by students is learning mathematics. However, in fact it was students mathematical communication ability in grade VIII SMP Adabiah Padang was still low. One of learning models to improve students mathematical communication ability was by applying cooperative learning model think air share (TPS) type in the process of learning mathematics. Aim of this research is to describe whether the cooperative learning model think air share (TPS) type is better than students who learn with conventional learning. Type of research is quasi experiment with static group design. Based on data analysis using t test, it can be concluded that students mathematical communication ability who learn by applying cooperative learning model TPS type is better than students who learn with conventional learning in grade VIII SMP Adabiah Padang. Kewords  conventional learning mathematical communication ability think air share model.

Abstract

Understanding mathematical concepts is a basic ability that students must have in learning mathematics. But in reality, students’understanding of mathematical concepts is still low because it is in process learning of students is still less active. One of the methods used to activate student learning is to apply the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) type of cooperative learning model.  This study aims to describe theoretically whether the STAD type cooperative learning model can  improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts and how the type cooperative learning model STAD can improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach, descriptive research type, and literature study methods. Data collection techniques were carried out literature study. The type of data in this study is textual from secondary sources. This research was conducted by collecting and analyzing related sources to get ideas about the learning model STAD cooperative type and understanding student’s mathematical concepts. Based on the study conducted, it was found that theoretically the STAD type of cooperative learning model could improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts. STAD type cooperative learning can improve students’ understanding of mathematical concepts through RPP and LKPD which make students active in carry out learning activities related to evidence of conceptual understanding and scientific approaches.Keywords__ Understanding Of Mathematical Consepts, Cooperative Learning, STAD

Abstract

Abstract – Students must learn mathematical problem solving, a fundamental cognitive skill and the major purpose of maths. According to observations in class VIII of SMP Negeri 15 Padang, this ability is low. Research used STEM-integrated Problem Based Learning (PBL) to address these issues. The study described the development and examined whether STEM integrated PBL students are better at using it than conventional learners. Research is quasi-experiment with static two-group design. Population: class VIII SMP Negeri 15 Padang students. Research quizzes and posttests. The final hypothesis test at ? = 0.05 yielded ? - ????? < ?, rejecting ?0.
