Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of errors and factors the cause of students making mistakes in the matter of stories, as well describe how the impact of applying the Think Talk Write (TTW) Cooperative model to the error. The types of errors are categorized according to Newman error analysis. The method used in this research is a combination of sequential explanatory model research methods. Data collection techniques this study were test and interview methods. The validity of the data is done by triangulation of techniques that compares test and interview data. Data analysis technique is done by data reduction, data presentation and data verification. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII 9 SMP Negeri 13 Padang, amounting to 31 people. The results showed that the most dominant mistake made by students was the error writing answers with a percentage of errors of 49.67%, while the smallest mistakes made by students were errors reading questions with a percentage of errors of 1.93%. Factors that cause it are students can not absorb information properly, carelessness, do not understand the material as a whole, the weak concept of prerequisites, lack of confidence in solving problems, in a hurry in solving problems and the results of incorrect answers. Based on the comparison of the results of the Pretest and Posttest after applying the Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning model, it appears that the application of the learning model affects errors learners. When viewed from a comparison of the percentage of each type of error in Pretest and Posttest the results show that the percentage of each type of error has also decreased.Keywords – Student’s error, Newman Error Analysis, TTW Cooperative Mode

Abstract

Quadrilaterals and triangles are geometric materials that have many uses in everyday life. However, based on the data from Puspendik KEMENDIKBUD, only 36.68% of students answered the flat shape and circle area correctly, and 29.0%7 answered the question interpreting the combined area of the flat shape correctly. Learning tools take an important role in the learning process. Learning tools are one of the tools that teachers can use to help them achieve their learning goals. However, from the observation results at school, there is a discrepancy between the learning tools developed by the teacher and the learning process carried out in the classroom, and it is meaningful for the students to positively feel their concepts and knowledge. This research have purpose to advance learning device based on a scientific approach using a discovery learning model. This reserach uses the Plomp method, which consists of stages. (1) Preliminary phase which is analyze of needss, student, curriculumand concept), (2) Prototyping phase which is including design the product, self-evaluation, validation by expert, one on one evaluation, and small group Evaluation, (3) Evaluation Phase, which was performed in a large group (field test), but in this study only up to the small group evaluation phase. The result of this research was obtained from the results of interviews and surveys. The results of the analyze of the obtained data show that learning devices based on a scientific approach based on the developed discovery learning model are very effective at an average rate of 92.32% and very practical at a rate of 93.36% of students response. It also got  average 86.61% for practical by teachers' responese. From this, we can conclude that the resulting learning tools are effective and practical.Keywords __ Discovery learning, Learning, Plomp, Scientific approach

Abstract

Achievements/objectives of mathematics subjects include mastery of understanding mathematical concepts that students need to have. In fact, the ability of class VIII students of SMPN 2 Koto XI Tarusan in this regard is still relatively low. The cause of this is learning that is still focused on educators. To overcome this, the NHT type cooperative model in learning can be used as a solution. Quasi-experimental is a type of research that uses a non-equivalent posttest -only control group design. Meanwhile, 94 students in class VIII SMPN 2 Koto XI Tarusan make up the population. In selecting  sample, the researcher used a simple random sampling method. Class VIII.1 was chosen as the experimental class and class VIII.2 was chosen as the control class. Based on the hypothesis test with a significant level of  = 0.05 and obtain a P-value = 0.000. This can be interpreted as a P-value <  = 0.05 causes  to be rejected. This research concludes that the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who study with the NHT cooperative learning model is better than students who learn with the direct learning model in class VIII SMPN 2 Koto XI Tarusan.. Keywords– Ability to Understand Mathematical Concepts, NHT Type Cooperative Learning Model, Direct Learning.

Abstract

Tthe ability of understanding mathematical concepts of grade VII students of SMPN 26 Padang is still low, this is due to less meaningful mathematics learning. the learning of mathematics should be preceded by the introduction of problems appropriate to the student environment. The Contextual Teaching And Learning Approach (CTL) is a learning concept that can help teachers connect between the material they teach and the students' real-world situations and encourage them to make connections between the knowledge they possess and their real-world forwarding. The results showed that the Contextual Teacher and Learning approach did not affect the students' understanding of mathematical concepts in grade VII SMPN 26 Padang, because the experimental group did not differ from the control group. Keywords - understanding of mathematical concepts, Contextual Teaching And Learning Approach (CTL)

Abstract

The purpose this research was to design a valid and practical student worksheet (LKPD) based on the Indonesian realistic mathematics education approach (PMRI) on system of linear equations of- two variables (SPLDV) material for class VIII SMP. This research is a development research using Plomp development, which consists of three phases, namely the preliminary research phase, the prototyping phase and the evaluation phase. Based on the results of data analysis from the feasibility aspect of content, language, presentation and graphics, the validity level of 82.79% was achieved with a very valid category. At the practical level of the LKPD obtained from questionnaires for students' answers, the practicality of 89.06% is in the very practical category. In view of the outcomes got, it tends to be presumed that the LKPD with PMRI SPLDV material in class VIII SMP can be proclaimed legitimate and functional Keywords— development Research, student Worksheet, Realistic mathematics education.

Abstract

MathermaticalWcommunication ability is importantaaspect of  learningAmathematics. However, in factistudent’s mathematical communication ability in grade VII SMP Negeri 20 Padang was still low. Observationyshowed that student’s were less interest in mathematics learning wich was difficult and boring. One efforts that can be done-was applying cooperative learning model Think Pair Square type. Type of research was quasi experimentalpresearch with Randomized Control-Grup Only Design. Sampling wasudone by simple random sampling technique, Instrument waswfinal test student’s mathematical communication ability. Dataoanalysis used t test. Abstract

Abstract – The goals of this research is to create and describe interactive learning multimedia on valid and practical Cartesian coordinates material for students of class VIII SMPN 7 Sijunjung. The research type used is development research. The Plomp development model was used, which consists of three phases. They are the preliminary research, prototyping phase, and assessment phase. The students of class VIII SMPN 7 Sijunjung are the subject of the research. Needs analysis, curriculum analysis, concept analysis, and student analysis were conducted as part of the preliminary research phase for the development of interactive multimedia learning on Cartesian coordinates. The phase of prototyping aims to develop interactive learning multimedia in order to produce the interactive learning multimedia valid and practical through formative evaluation. They are self evaluation, expert review, one-to-one evaluation, and small group evaluation. The result of the validity value of interactive learning multimedia on the Cartesian coordinate material is 84,38% with a very valid category. Based on the results of the practicality questionnaire analysis by students and teachers, it is shown that interactive multimedia learning on Cartesian coordinate material in all aspects is in the very practical category with practicality values of 88,54% and 95,45%. As a result, interactive learning multimedia on Cartesian coordinates for class VIII SMP is valid, practical, and can be used. Keywords– interactive learning multimedia, Cartesian coordinates, valid, practical

Abstract

This research is useful to find out the increase in students' problem-solving abilities with the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model supported by interactive multimedia compared to without applying this model. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a population of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 13 Padang for the 2022/2023 academic year. The sample is the experimental class and the control class which are drawn randomly. The experimental class is a class that applies the PBL model supported by interactive multimedia and the control class is a class that does not apply this model. The research instrument is an essay question that is used in the final test. From the results of the study it was explained that the implementation of the PBL model supported by interactive multimedia was able to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities, as evidenced by the average score of the final test indicators of experimental class students higher than the control class, as well as the mathematical problem solving abilities of students whose learning using the PBL model was better than the mathematical problem solving abilities of students whose learning uses direct learning models. So it was concluded that the students' mathematical problem solving abilities in the experimental class were better than the control class so that the PBL model supported by interactive multimedia was able to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities in the experimental class.Keywords– Problem Based Learning, Problem Solving Abilities, Interactive Multimedia

Abstract

Mathematics  is  a  compulsory  subject  at  primary  and  secondary  education levels in Indonesia. However, several studies have concluded that mathematics is one of the subjects that students are less interested in. The low interest of students is due to the fact that most mathematics teachers still use conventional learning media in mathematics learning, especially in geometry. This happens due to the lack of teacher's ability to apply technology in mathematics learning, especially in geometry lessons. One effort that can be done is through community service aimed at Junior High School Mathematics teachers who  are  members  of  the  Junior  High  School  Mathematics  MGMP  in  Limapuluh  Kota Regency.  The  activity  of  developing  learning  tools  was  made  in  two  stages,  namely designing and building AR applications using Unity 3D. The modeling process uses the Blender application. Whereas Vuforia SDK to form AR and playmaker as programming. This  application  has  three  main  features  in  the  form  of  building  material,  tutorials,  and application guides. As an output, the user can provide input and the system will read the program according to the markers provided separately from the application. Based on the results of devotion activities that have been carried out it is concluded that digital props based  on  Augmented  reality  have  been  successfully  made  and  help  learning  in  the material of building.Keywords — through community service, Augmented reality, Blender application

Abstract

Communication skills has an important position  in mathematics learning, because of the skill in explaining ideas verbally or in writing. If students are good at this skill, they will be able to understand the problem correctly. However, in practice, this ability is still relatively low among students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Padang. One solution to support the growth of these skills is to use the Think Talk Write (TTW) collaborative learning model. The aim of the research was to see whether this skill increases when implemented TTW in clas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Padang. Type of research is a quasi-experimental study without an appropriate post hoc pure control group. Use of mathematical communicative competence test equipment and descriptive quizzes. Data analysis shows that classroom learning using the TTW model outperforms in-person learning. and experienced a significant increase. Keywords–Cooperative Learning, Direct Learning, Mathematical Communication Skills, Think Talk Write .
