Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop student worksheets (LKPD) a polyhedron topic for class VIII SMP with a scientific approach applied to cooperative learning model type Problem Based Leaming (PBL) which is valid and practical. This study uses the Plomp development model which consists of three phases, namely the preliminary research phase, a prototyping phase, and an assessment phase. In preliminary research, needs analysis, curiculum analysis, concept analysis and student analysis. The prototyping phase is the stage of designing learning tools consisting of prototype 1, prototype 2, prototype 3, and prototype 4. The last step is the next step in confirming the practicality of the LKPD through the results of the student practicality questionnaire. According to the results of validity data analysis, LKPD based on a scientific approach using PBL model has been shown to have a validity level of 82.72% in a very valid category. The test results data from the student survey of the practicality questionnaire accounted for 93,2% of the very practical category. It can be concluded that LKPD based on a scientific approach with the PBL model on polyhedron topic for students of class VIII SMP can be categorized valid and practical. Keywords — Development Research, Student Worksheet, Scientific Approuach, Problem Based Leaming

Abstract

Analysis of students' ability to understand mathematical concepts is one of the things that is important to do to obtain information on  students’ abilities in understanding the material. Based on data in the field, students in class X SMAN 5 Padang are thought to have low concept understanding skills. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The results showed that the average score of the ability to understand mathematical concepts on indicator 1 was 0.36 with a very low category, indicator 2 was 0.62 in the moderate category, indicator 3 was 0.37 in the very low category, indicators 4 and 5 were 0.4 in the low category.Keyword--concept understanding ability

Abstract

The ability that students must achieve is the ability to solve mathematical problems. It can be seen from the results of the initial assessment that problem-solving skills in class IX SMP Negeri 7 Padang need to be improved. This study examines the development of mathematical problem-solving skills during the application of the REACT model and analyzes students' abilities using the REACT model superior to the direct learning model. Nonequivalent only posttest control grub research design with quasi-experimental method, and random sampling technique. From the results of the hypothesis test, P-value = 0.000. It can be concluded that the problem-solving ability of students applied by the REACT model is superior to the direct learning model.Keywords: Model REACT, Mathematical Problem Solving  Skills, Direct Learning

Abstract

Understand mathematical concepts ability is the main goal in learning mathematics. This means that understanding mathematical concepts is a major point in achieving other mathematical goals. This study aims to determine whether understand mathematical concepts ability using Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning models better than understand mathematical concepts ability using direct learning models. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Sutera Kab. Pesisir Selatan, Padang, 32 students in the experimental class and 32 students in the control class. This type of research is quasy experiment  with the Static Group Design research design. The results showed that understanding of mathematical concepts using the STAD learning model had increased. It can be concluded that understand mathematical concepts ability  using the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model is better than understand mathematical concepts ability using the direct learning model. Keywords --- Cooperatif Learning, Mathematical Concept, STAD Learning Model.

Abstract

Mathematics learning outcomes are benchmarks that can be used to see how far students understand in the concepts that being taught. But in reality, students of class XI MIPA SMAN 1 Pasaman have mathematics learning outcomes that have not been achieved optimally.  To fix that problem, the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model can be applied. The research aims to determine whether students who learn with the TPS have better outcomes of mathematics learning than students who learn to use direct learning model and to describe how the development of mathematics learning outcomes of students who learn with the TPS learning model. This research is a combination of descriptive research and quasi-experimental research. The design of the research that used was a nonequivalent (posttest only) control group design. The results of this research are the experiment class and control class students  have an average of each  class 88.67 and 81.56. The conclusion of this research is that the experiment class had better learning outcomes than the control class. Abstract

Mathematics education has a main goals is for students to have problem-solving abilities. However, students’ mathematical problem-solving skills are still low due to teacher-centered learning approaches. The proposed solution is to implement the Creative Problem-Solving instructional model, and therefore, this study is aimed to figure out the impact on mathematical problem-solving abilities by using the CPS instructional model. Quasy Experiment is the research method that employed with a design known as the Nonequivalent Posttest Only Control Group Design. All 7th-grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang during the 2022/2023 academic year is the population, and there were two samples. This study using an instrument which is a final test. Using the outcomes of the hypothesis test from the conclusive examination acquired a p-value was 0.000 (0,05), which indicates rejecting the null hypothesis (. It was discovered that there is an impact on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in class VII at SMP Negeri 7 Padang by using the CPS instructional model.Keywords– Problem-solving abilities, creative problem solving learning model, convensional learning model

Abstract

The problem in learning mathematics is the learning outcomes of students are not optimal. Low learning outcomes occur in class XI MIA SMA N 13 Padang. One of the causes is students  are less active, so that the creativity of students has not been seen in mathematics learning. Creative-Productive learning is one of the learning strategies that can enhance the students activities and learning outcomes . The purpose of this research is to see activities and learning outcomes of students during the application of Creative-Productive Learning Strategies in mathematics lessons. This type of research is quasy-experiment with Randomized Control Group Only Design. The results of this research indicate that the activities of students tend to increase after applying Creative-Productive learning strategies. Based on the analysis of the final test results obtained learning outcomes with the application of Creative-Productive learning strategies better than the learning outcomes of students with conventional learning. It can be concluded that there is an influence the application of Creative-Productive learning strategies to the mathematics learning outcomes.Keywords— Creative-Productive learning, Mathematics Learning, students activities, learning outcomes

Abstract

This paper will discuss the analysis of students’ errors in solving mathematical problem solving abilities question. Base on field data, clas VIII SMPN 10 Padang students still make a mistakes in solving mathematical problem solving problems. This is due to the various errprs of students and the absence of a detailed analysis of student errors. The porpose of this study is todescribe the type of errors made by students in solving mathematical problem solving problems along whit the factors that cause errors based on Newman’s stages.The approach of this research is a qualitative approach whit the descriptive type of research. Data obtained from the results of tests and interviews. Data were analyzed based on qualitative analysis tecniques, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that there were studentswho made reading errors, comprehention errors, transformation errors, processing skills errors and encoding errors. Abstract

This study aims to develop an e-module with an exe-learning application on quadrilateral and triangular shapes in class VII SMPN 3 X Koto that meet valid and practical criteria. The type of research used is design research type development studies with the ADDIE development model which in its implementation consists of the analysis stage, the design stage, the development stage, and the implementation stage. The research subjects were students of class VII.2 SMPN 3 X Koto. This type of research data is primary data consisting of qualitative and quantitative data. The data obtained were then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques. The results of data analysis show that the developed e-module is valid and practical. Based on the results of the validation and suggestions of the validator, this e-module meets the valid criteria with a validity level of 89.21% (very valid). The results of the student responses in the one-to-one stage to assess the practicality of the e-module have been practical with a practicality level of 93.56% (very practical), while in the small group evaluation stage the practicality level is 78.98% (practical). These results identify that the e-module on the material of quadrilateral and triangular shapes developed in class VII is valid and practical. Keyword – E-module, Exe-learning, Valid, Practical
