Abstract

The assessment results provide a means of observing the learning outcomes in mathematics. The study's findings indicate that the academic achievements of eighth-grade pupils at Padang Development Junior High School remain subpar. This phenomenon arises due to errors committed throughout the process of problem-solving. Consequently, a comprehensive examination of these errors is conducted in order to identify the mistakes made by pupils, utilizing Newman's Error study as the basis for study. The present study used a descriptive research design. The participants in this study consisted of pupils enrolled in the eighth grade.The SMP Pembangunan Padang is a secondary school located in the city of Padang. The data analysis reveals the presence of many sorts of errors, including reading and comprehension errors, transformation errors, process skills faults, and final response writing errors. Keywords– Mathematics Problem, Newman’s Error Analysis, Student of SMP Pembangunan Padang

Abstract

The ability of Mathematical reasoning is one of seven mathematical learning objectives that must be achieved. However, the mathematical reasoning ability of students is still not optimal. One of the efforts to improve students' mathematical reasoning ability is to apply generative learning models, aimed at describing whether the mathematical reasoning abilities of students who learn with generative learning models are better than the Mathematical reasoning abilities of students who learn with conventional learning. This research is a combination of descriptive and quasy experiment research with Randomized Control-Group Only Design research design. Based on the results of data analysis by doing t-test, it shows that the mathematical reasoning ability of students who learn using generative learning models is better than the mathematical reasoning ability of students who learn to use conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 1 Payakumbuh. Keywords – Mathematical Reasoning, Generative Learning Model, Conventional Learning

Abstract

Mathematical concept understanding constitute a basis goal that should be achieved when learning subject mathematics, because in the learning process definitely requires understanding and meaning of the material being studied. However, based on the data from the daily assessment on linier program material is obtained by the fact that the mathematical understanding of the concepts of students is still low. The action that can be done to cope with this problem is to implement the cooperative model type Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD). Research type that chosen is quasi experimental. The population in this research are all students of class XI IPA SMAN 1 V Koto Kampung Dalam for academic year 2022/2023 which consists of four classes. Based on the quiz research, the mathematical concept understanding is experiencing development by implementation of type STAD. Besides that, the results of the hypothesis test, it obtained that P - Value = 0.016 < 0,05, which means to reject . So that the conclusion is obtained that the mathematical concept understanding students of experimental class is better than the mathematical concept understanding concept students of control class.   Keywords– understandings mathematicals concepts, Student Teams Achievement Divisions, Non Equivalent Post Test Only Group Design

Abstract

Student Worksheet is one of the teaching materials that can support learning in achieving learning objectives. However, not all Student Worksheet are able to support learning optimally. In the Student Worksheet that was observed related to the Pythagorean theorem, there were still things that needed to be improved. This study aims to develop Student Worksheet on the subject of the Pythagorean theorem which is valid and practical using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). This development research uses the Mckenney development model which consists of three stages, namely the preliminary stage, the prototyping stage, and the assessment stage. However, due to limited conditions, this study only reached the prototyping stage, especially prototype 2. Based on the results of the validation and practicalization questionnaires, it can be concluded that the Student Worksheet developed is valid and practical with characteristics relevant to the applicable curriculum, communicative, solid in material, appearance attractive, easy to use with a relatively short time, and the propagation process does not cost much. Keywords — Student Worksheets, contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach, Pythagorean theorem

Abstract

Good math problem solving skill is expected in math. Students' mathematical problem-solving skills are inadequate, according to observational tests. This can result from studying that doesn't enhance mathematical problem solving. Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) applied as the solution of problems. Quasy-experimental that using a Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design, is used in this research. Hypothesis testing yielded p-value 0.005. As the p-value is <0.05,  is rejected in the hypothesis test. This indicates that class VIII.3 students who use the RME approach solve mathematical problems better than class VIII.5 students who use conventional learning.Keywords. –Mathematical Problem-Solving Skill, Realistic Mathematics Education (RME)

Abstract

Themathematical communication of ability is the goals of one of mathematics learning. In fact,  student’s mathematical communication class VIII SMPN 7 Padang is not optimal. This is can see at the time of observation and test score given to students that contain indicator of the ability of mathematical communication is low.One effort that can be done to apply cooperative learning model type TPSq. The purpose of this study is to look at differences in mathematical communication skills of learners using learning model of cooperative type TPSq with learners who learning directly. This type of research used is quasi experimental with the design of research Randomized Control-Group Only Design and Descriptive. The research instrument is a quiz and tests the ability of mathematical communication in the form of essay matter. The results a quiz showed that the mathematical communication ability of learners using cooperative model of TPSq type is best andthe results showed that the mathematical communication ability of learners using cooperative model of TPSq type is better than the mathematical communication ability of the students whose learning using direct learning.Keywords – Cooperative;learning;type;TPSq, Student’s;mathematics;communication;skills, Direct  Instruction

Abstract

One of the objectives that should be accomplished by students in learning mathematics is understanding mathematical concepts. Truth be told, the comprehension of the ideas of class students at SMPN 10 Batang Hari is as yet in the low classification, this should be visible from the consequences of daily students evaluations where students experience issues responding to a few inquiries that contain marks of understanding mathematical concepts. The arrangements that should be possible to tackle this issues is to utilize ethnomathematics-based worksheet with regards to Jambi batik. The reason for this review was to decide and describe the development of the capacity to understand mathematical concepts of class IX SMPN 10 Batang Hari after using ethnomathematics-based worksheet in the context of Jambi batik. This research is a pre-experimental research using One Shot Case Study design. The subjects of this exploration were students of class IX.A SMPN 10 Batang Hari. This research data was collected through a final test of the capacity to understand mathematical concepts in view of the acquisition of the students average score of the each indicator and the percentage of the quantity of students in each score obtained. In view of information investigation, it tends to be presumed that the development of understanding mathematical concepts of class IX.A students of SMPN 10 Batang Hari after using ethomathematics-based worksheet in the context of Jambi batik is very good and has increased in each indicator. Abstract

This research attempts to characterize students' self-confidence in terms of their ability to solve mathematical problems. In this study, four questions from the geometry transformation material and 16 items from the self-confidence survey were used to measure the problem solving skills in mathematical of 36 students by class XI MIPA 3. Miles and Huberman's analysis was used to examine the questions, and a triangulation approach was used to check the reliability of sources. data. The research results shown that students with levels in high of self-confidence were able to fulfill all indicators of problem solving, students with moderate levels of self-confidence were able to fulfill two problem solving indicators, and students with low self-confidence. confident can not meet one of the indicators.Keywords– The mathematic problem solving, Self confidence, Learning

Abstract

This study aims to produce interactive learning multimedia on quadrilateral and triangular matter and to determine the quality of multimedia developed based on validity and practicality aspects. This type of research is a development research with a Plomp model consisting of a preliminary research stage and a prototyping phase. Research data were collected by observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of this study are: (1) Interactive learning multimedia has a very valid category based on the average result of the validator's assessment of 88.62%, (2) Interactive learning multimedia has a very practical category based on the average results obtained from the response questionnaire sheet. students of 90.74%. Abstract

The study was intended to determine how interest was affected by the result of studying the mathematics of class VII students performed in UPT SMP Negeri 1 Batang Kapas. The kind of researchers used is a combination of Ex Post Facto and descriptive research, with a quantitative approach. The data is generated using the information in the form of questionnaire, interviews, and learning results test. The  obtained data was analyzed by using descriptive and simple linear regression. Based on data analysis obtained: 1) The result of student learning interest assessments have an average of 62,38 in the category of interest. 2) Student’s learning results show the average student’s value is 52,78 with the highest value is 100 and the lowest value is 2 with deviation standard 31,777. 3) The analysis of interest and the learning result indicate that the student’s interest related to learning result of student of UPT SMP Negeri 1 Batang Kapas with the t count > t table (4,173 > 2,001) at a 5% level of significance,  indicating that the student’s interest variable had a significant relationship to the learning result. It also indicates that the higher the student's interest, the better the results of learning acquired by the student of class VII in UPT SMP Negeri 1 Batang kapas. Keyword – Interest, results in learning
